Former UFC Fighter Hermes Franca Sentenced To 42 Months For Sexual Abuse
Hermes Franca, a former UFC lightweight contender, has been sentenced to 42 months in jail for the sexual abuse of an underage female student.
Hermes Franca Barros, 37, pleaded guilty in Clackamas County Court on Wednesday to one count of unlawful penetration and one count of first-degree sexual abuse. He was sentenced to 3½ years in prison.
Barros will also have four and a half years of post-prison supervision and must register as a sex offender.
Franca’s last MMA fight was at UFC 103 in 2009. He fought Sean Sherk for the lightweight title in 2007. After the fight, both fighters tested positive for steroids.
