DeMarcus Cousins Demands That the Sacramento Kings Trade Him
The Sacramento Kings drafted Kentucky malcontent DeMarcus Cousins with the 5th pick in the 2010 draft. Everyone knew it was a risk at the time. The Kings’ knew Cousins had potential to be a franchise center … or the kind of guy who could wreck team chemstry.
Cousins had issues with coach Paul Westphal last year. And now, the mercurial center wants to be traded.
DeMarcus Cousins has demanded to be traded. In the best interest of our team as we go forward, he has been directed by me, with the support of management, to stay home from the New Orleans game tonight.”
It’s unclear what prompted this – though Cousins’ comments after the blowout loss to the Knicks are a pretty decent indicator – and the question will be whether the Kings’ want to keep Westphal and try to trade Cousins, or perhaps it’s time to move on from Westphal, whom they hired in 2009.

Ship his ass to Boston for their first rounder and the rights to Jeff Green. Boston would probably go for that to help their “one last run” year, and you take a chance on next year’s deep draft and Green eventually becoming an OK to good player. Little under value for Cousins perhaps but you’re probably better off in the long run.

That’s it. Trade one of the few Pistons who can play, and wants to, for a complete nitwit.

Greg Stiemsma is playing 18 min/g for the Celts right now. They’d be in serious trouble if Keyon Dooling or Marquis Daniels got hurt.
The Celts as built couldn’t take the Pacers to a Game 7, let alone the Bulls or Heat. They need something, badly. It’s all getting blown up next year anyway, might as well go for broke.

Jayhawk, they need someone who can contribute and not be a cancer. Cousins wouldn’t help them any more against the Heat or Bulls. he would piss and moan that he has to come off the bench. Cousins thinks he is great and thinks he should be a star. What he really needs is to get the shit kicked out of him by veterans. Sadly, the kings have no veteran leadership

He also demanded to be traded back to his AAU team, FWIW.

sometimes its the players, and sometimes its the coaches. This time it seems like its the coach who has lost his team. Cousins is just the guy who has verbalized individually, not in a good way, what the lockerroom is feeling collectively.
