Michael Jordan & Yvette Prieto Are Engaged
All, Michael Jordan December 30th. 2011, 8:30am

Michael Jordan, whose divorce in 2006 was rumored to have cost him in excess of $150 million, got engaged this week to Cuban model Yvette Prieto.
Jordan and Prieto have been dating since at least NBA All-Star weekend 2009. Very little is known about Prieto. Good luck finding anything credible about her on the internet. Despite the web’s wanton lust for her, Prieto’s largely anonymous.
Hot and no digital footprint? Well done, Mr. Jordan. Not that we’d expect anything less.

I’m pretty sure she’s a former soccer player and used to date Julio Iglesias Jr. and also used to pal around with Elin Woods. these are things a cursory google search told me.
December 30th, 2011 at 8:45 AM
and she’s Cuban.

Hardly credible. Its not true until ‘ask jeeves’ says so.

would they have any QB’s for next year then? Dayne Chryst (sp?) transferred and Gunner Kiel committed to LSeaUx.
December 30th, 2011 at 8:57 AM
More sports athletes should use Charles Barkley as a role model. Find the woman that doesn’t mind.
December 30th, 2011 at 8:57 AM
urinal…have you seen this? posted it yesterday, but here it is again. dustin johnson trying out TM’s new RBZ fairway wood…last one he hits 331 with 179 mph ball speed. insane.

His baby hands are embarassing, the size of my 3-year old nephews.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:03 AM
I hate TM stuff anyway… then they go and throw a Big Johnson name on their shit (probably because they have so many releases they’ve run out of names) to top it off.
I’m considering putting a short 13° driver (43″) in my bag instead of a FW because I never hit FW off the deck.
But yeah, that Dustin kid can spank it a long way.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:03 AM

December 30th, 2011 at 9:04 AM
I thought during the broadcast it was mentioned that ND has some kid redshirting, didn’t catch his name though
December 30th, 2011 at 9:05 AM
someone say 65* tomorrow and 55* on Sunday?
December 30th, 2011 at 9:06 AM
Hey let’s create our own Roundup. I’ll start. Jaromir Jagr scores on the Pens, sees man in Crosby jersey flipping him off, proceeds to salute said man. Game topped off by Talbot scoring an empty netter was just perfect.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:06 AM
seriously…when i heard the new line was called “rocketballz” i figured it was just another name they were using as a placeholder (all the previous models had some sort of pseudonym). dumb name.
but if it’s as long as advertised…it might be a driver replacement altogether. and ive heard it’s an absolute beast almost everywhere and im conflicted that TM’s bullshit corporate marketing hype might be legit this time.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:09 AM

All I could think of watching that part was “13 kids? Holy fuck”.

December 30th, 2011 at 9:32 AM
at the end of the year, it was 9 and didnt shoot over 85 my last five rounds of the season.
i made a ton of progress this year with my swing and put in a ton of practice hours…ive probably been playing 3.5 years, but this past year has really been formative. looking back to my game in march, it’s night and day (as it should be considering i played 80+ rounds this year).
it’s fuckign crack man. im so addicted it’s not even funny.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:33 AM
$40 for 45 minutes…worth every penny. even tried a few putts with it.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:34 AM
I wish I could go back to that fateful day in 2002 when I ruined my swing for life and have a come-to-Jesus with myself about what I was doing.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:34 AM
Impressive. With progress like that, you’ll be dominating the Senior tour in 20 years or so.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:36 AM
I am insanely jealous. I’ve been playing since I was 10 (nearly 20 years) and I’m lucky to break 100. My short game will always be a pile of garbage.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:37 AM
that’s what i did…told myself i needed to start from scratch. got hogan’s book, started with the grip. practiced nothing but holding the club for a week and went from there.
it seems every week, i find out something new and fix a previous fault. it’s a helluva wormhole.
i just hope to qualify for the us amateur or publinx in a couple years. that’ll be good enough for me…but very much appreciated brother.

He already has two grown kids and has given away half his net worth. If this chick really “loves” him she’d be fine living in sin and being lavishly spoiled without needing a piece of paper. MJ, what happened to your killer instinct? You’ve gone soft.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:42 AM
I imagine MJ crafted a tersely written pre-nup prior to said engagement.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:43 AM

OT:
Just finished Season 1 of The Wire.
HO. LY. SHIT.
I found myself screaming about 15 different things during the final two episodes.
END OT
December 30th, 2011 at 9:51 AM
The only reason I haven’t started watching The Wire is because it isn’t in HD. Does that make me a moron or a snob?
December 30th, 2011 at 9:52 AM
like when bunk moreland ran over wallace during the three-legged race set up by the boys and girls club? I KNOW, RIGHT?!?!?!
December 30th, 2011 at 9:54 AM
it doesn’t really need to be in HD…if anything, standard def adds to the environment they were going for. gritty, forgotten, old…the grime is authentic.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:54 AM
I am normally a HD snob, but The Wire is fucking phenomenal and well worth the HD exception.
I’d rather he spend the time on the pictures (which are hilarious) over a lot of hard analysis on baseball, the Jets, and college football. The next picture is going to be him curling his wife.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:55 AM
Good bit of business right there.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:55 AM
The only reason I haven’t started watching The Wire is because it isn’t in HD. Does that make me a moron or a snob?
Little bit of column A and a little bit of column B. I got over the “no HD” thing by episode 3. Oddly enough, that’s when the show went from “okay, this is pretty good” to “I am watching some great television” mode.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:55 AM
This Don Cherry piano desk video I saw on Puck Daddy is fucking hilarious.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:56 AM

In movie news, went to see the new MIssion Impossible the other night. Had passes to the theatre that expire on the 31st so trying to get some watching in and the theatre said those passes work for every movie but MI. I know Tom Cruise or Scientology had something to do with this but I paid anyway. The movie was pretty entertaining I have to say.
Also saw Sherlock Holmes and that was entertaining as well, if not a little too ridiculous in plot.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:02 AM
I was about to give you a +1 for using up your movie passes before they expire cleet. And then you said you paid for the movie. And then you said the movie was MI. -200 Paolo Points.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:03 AM
Minus the Stephen Fry and RDJ comedy bits, I hated it.

December 30th, 2011 at 10:06 AM
It really wasn’t that bad. I still have the passes, going to use them tomorrow. Probably to see the dragon tattoo.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:08 AM
want all of them.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:09 AM
And then you go and totally redeem yourself!
December 30th, 2011 at 10:09 AM
Just finished Season 1 of The Wire.
Never watched it either, and I cancelled my Netflix. Someone on Ebay has the completed series for $65, brand new. Might pick it up.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:10 AM
I want to link the Marissa Miller iPod photo from the swimsuit issue but I would probably err on the side of nsfw. A easy google images search can find it.

December 30th, 2011 at 10:13 AM

December 30th, 2011 at 10:14 AM
will I like that movie if I haven’t read the book, and probably never intend to?
December 30th, 2011 at 10:14 AM

December 30th, 2011 at 10:16 AM

December 30th, 2011 at 10:16 AM
This Don Cherry piano desk video I saw on Puck Daddy is fucking hilarious.
I actually really like that suit.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:21 AM
It is a goddamned travesty that I am at work instead of prepping brine.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:21 AM
Having read the book and seen the Swedish version, I’ll probably skip the American version unless someone tells me there’s a compelling reason to see it.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:23 AM
will I like that movie if I haven’t read the book, and probably never intend to?
I didn’t read the book and I liked the movie…if you can get past the soul-crushing rape and all. And it’s made me want to see the Swedish version eventually as well.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:23 AM
I did that with Let the Right One In and I was semi-disappointed.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:23 AM
Rooney Mara gets butt ass nekkid in it about 8 times
and she has a phenomenal body
December 30th, 2011 at 10:26 AM
Those two movies are so similar. If you had seen one or the other I would not be surprised being disappointed with the other.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:28 AM
Rooney Mara gets butt ass nekkid in it about 8 times
and she has a phenomenal body
Here’s the thing…her hair, pale face, weird piercings and all that shit completely threw me off for most of the movie. And yet, after she helped solve the case, busted some ass and became a hero, she became more attractive.
Yeah, she did have a smoking bod, but I think the fact that she was resourceful and self-sufficient and could be such a force was a turn-on.
Thoughts?
December 30th, 2011 at 10:29 AM
The chick that gets naked in the Swedish version is the gypsy chick from the new Sherlock Holmes movie. She’s way better looking than Rooney Mara and has bigger boobs.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:31 AM
She was a waste of space in the Holmes movie, too.
But now I’m going to watch the Swede version on the sly.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:31 AM
I refuse to see the movie because of what her face looks like in it, completely uncalled for.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:31 AM
I just cant bring myself to watch the Swedish version. Subtitles annoy the fuck out of me.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:32 AM
I think most men will find her personality attractive because she acts like a man (logical, terse) but with a vagina and tits.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:33 AM
I’ll have a beer for you.
/I’ve had two already
//DE-TROIT SUCKS!
December 30th, 2011 at 10:35 AM
I read a couple reviews where they talk about how it is a real ‘female’ protagonist and that is probably why. In that it is not just a protagonist role for a man played by a woman.(IE Salt, Colombiana or numerous movies where the female protagonist solves problems with physicality)
December 30th, 2011 at 10:35 AM
blockquote>She’s way better looking than Rooney Mara and has bigger boobs. That reminds me how much I love Kate Mara
December 30th, 2011 at 10:37 AM
Also saw Sherlock Holmes and that was entertaining as well, if not a little too ridiculous in plot.
Saw it Tuesday. Overall, entertaining. Downey, Jr. is such a versatile actor.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:37 AM
Startin’ early, huh?
December 30th, 2011 at 10:37 AM
I appreciate it. Preparing for the Ortonocalypse is a lot of work.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:39 AM
Also, before I forget, Happy New Year, everybody. Have some black-eyed peas on me.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:39 AM
The current BBC series of Sherlock Holmes is infinitely better. Set in modern times, uses modern technology and Watson is an Afghanistan vet. They’re doing Hound of the Baskervilles this season, RDJ sequel was the same name as the BALCO book.

December 30th, 2011 at 10:43 AM
Because if you haven’t read the book and will consequently find it a little harder to keep up with the usual fast-pacing of a Fincher film as he lays out key plot points, up the ante and go for subtitles. Great fuking idea.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:43 AM
Chickens, for wood smoking. Four hours in a dark brine of mine own creation, then 4 hours over pecan and a bit of hickory.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:44 AM

They offer an english dubbed version. I prefer subtitles because it always throws me off when I see people’s mouths moving even though the voice over isn’t talking.

THIS x1,000. Benedict Cumberpatch (that’s his real name) is the best Sherlock Holmes I’ve ever seen.

that, combined with the hog jowl mentioned about is supposed to bring good luck for the year, at least according to southern folk.

Mint–totally agree, although cherry isn’t bad either. Mesquite is basically unusable for anything but brisket, IMO, and even then…eh. Hickory is a nice addition but I like it to be a subordinate wood.

Did you see it in IMAX? I saw the IMAX versions and the scenes at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai were breathtaking.

What times does the BBC Sherlock air? How many seasons have there been?

OK, you two convinced me to add this to my SickBeard stream.
Do they really only do 3 episodes per series?

I mix pecan and apple hardwoods in with B&B for pulled pork. I get pecan hulls from my old man and sprinkle those all over the lump… they burn quick but I think the flavor they impart is a little stronger.

One so far, not sure of the time though I always have to torrent it.
Yep. Each one is a movie essentially.
Watch this clip and I’m willing to bet you’ll watch the series.

I dunno if BBC America will even show it. The next series on BBC One starts New Year’s day and airs for 3 weeks.

Sweet. Definite advantages to southern living when it comes to wood procurement.

Yeah, but they’re 90 minute episodes with high production values. Honestly, I wish an American network would take a chance with a 90 minute show. Fewer episodes, but more depth overall.

The original SCTV episodes were 90 minutes, but then again, Canada. God that was a great show.

it’s understood…isn’t necessary for a reminder.

Is that no commercials? Because 50 minute HBO/Showtime shows seems to be more than enough time IMO.

Guy Caballero, legend.

No commercials on Netflix. It might have commercials as it airs on British TV to make it 2 hours.

BBC One is commercial free, viewers pay for a license to watch it so there aren’t ads. You know, basically the system that would be fucking awesome here.

HBO? I don’t see the difference.
