Paige Duke Stripped Of Miss Sprint Cup Title Due to Naked Picture Scandal
For our 2011 year-in-review, we’re re-posting some of this site’s best stuff. This post originally ran July 7th.
Up until eight days ago, Paige Duke was one of the three Miss Sprint Cups. For the last 18 months, Duke, 24, would travel around the country and attend NASCAR races. There’s a video below detailing what that life was like.
But then some naked photos of Duke appeared online, and the Sprint Cup stripped her of her title (the dreaded morality clause!), no questions asked. Duke went on Fox Charlotte last night to talk about the scandal and she claimed the photos – which are online, but two of them are graphic and I’m not going to link to them – were taken when she was 18.
Duke said she took them in her dorm room and sent them to her then-boyfriend. Duke attended Clemson. Rumors on the web (and our inbox) claim her boyfriend at the time was a high-profile Clemson football player (now in the NFL), but we’ll leave that alone because nothing’s confirmed.
If Duke tries to sue the guy – that seems to be the case – we’ll write about it.
For now, Duke, who is an animal nurse – yes, you’re taking your pet to the wrong doctor – is left to wonder: Why would someone leak naked photos that were six years old to Captain Thunder Racing (the photos are gone from that site, probably because of a legal threat) now? And were they stolen off her ex-boyfriend’s computer?

A week and a half ago, Sprint terminated Duke over the phone. She says she was not offered a chance to explain the pictures, but understands she violated a morality clause in her contract.
There’s a morality clause in a contract for a girl who struts around nearly naked so that men twice her age can ogle her while they’re watching cars go around in circles at high rates of speed? Oh NASCAR, you’re funny.

I just found them easily with a Google search. She really does have a swimmer’s body. I feel bad for her, but at some point people need to realize all photos are basically permanent. Not like the old days where Clown could oil up and wrestle his cousin and then tear up the negatives when he realizes that was a bad idea.

IMO, one of the most important men in NFL history. Both from his on the field work and his work with the NFL union back in the day.
Also, his story will probably be the one most told by retired players on why they deserve to benefit more from the current NFL’s success.

When I found out about this whole situation, my heart went out to Paige. I was in the same major as Paige at Clemson (Animal and Veterinary Sciences), went to the same classes, and sat next to her in the study room. Let me clear some things up for you. Paige is a super smart girl and saying that you are taking your pet to the wrong vet because she works there is ridiculous. She did very well in school, studied hard, and helped others. Do not underestimate her. And yes, Paige Duke is her real name. As far as the “high-profile” football player goes, Paige didn’t date football players, she liked country boys. I don’t know who had these photos of her, but he was angry or jealous about something…
