Wysh did a good job filleting tWWL for that. I know you read it. I’d be upset if I didn’t half expect them to disregard a sport that doesn’t contribute to their balance sheet. Disgraceful on their part, sure. Unexpected? Not really.

Easier to work around the contract Kovalchuk has than to try and play along side the malcontent that is Dany Heatley. The Wild have already started to come back to Earth this year. Koivu being out has as much to do with that as the fact that their lack of goal scoring has caught up to their defense’s regression to the mean.

If Parise goes anywhere by New Jersey, it would be Vancouver or Detroit. I think Detroit focuses on replacing Lidstrom and Vancouver can’t offer the kind of money that New Jersey will be able to. Plus, he’d be a 2nd line player in Vancouver what with Thing 1 and Thing 2 occupying the top line out there.

Pretty sure he didn’t want any part of that. Once Brodeur’s giant salary comes off the books after this season, the Devils will have a little more cap room to play with.
