Anybody know the deal with Zach Brown? Some boards have him going late in the first round even though he’s the number 1 outside linebacker and Mel Kiper doesn’t even have him in his top 32.

No way on earth do the Dolphins not draft a QB in round 1 – unless they somehow traded for Peyton Manning, which is not happening in this universe.

Further, Brandon Weeden’s age (28) may scare some, but he’s a great QB and the Fiesta Bowl will likely increase his stock. Further, 28 is not that bad – if he can be a starter within a year (at 29), he’ll still have 5-6 very good years ahead of him. If the talent warrants it, you have to take a QB even if it is not going to last 10-12 years.

Excellent use of the ‘compliment sandwich’. Next time you might consider adding a second piece of ‘bread’. Overall, it was a productive comment though.

Shit… who cares his age… I wouldn’t draft him first round, but if you like him, 2nd round is fine for a cheap backup QB. If you get anyone 2nd round or lower, who cares if you don’t have him past his rookie contract. Most picks aren’t with a team past that anyway, and now you don’t spend two years waiting for him to grow into his body.

Damn, I am bummed I missed this. TBL, I admire that you are willing to make predictions and put them out there, but if you want any sense of redibility, you really should do more research on how teams draft and what they view as needs, as well as pay attention to recent draft picks. For example, Rams have spent a 1st and a high 2nd (33rd overall) on OT. I doubt they will spend another top 5 pick there. Same thing applies to Lions and RBs. Its one thing to be bold, but this comes across as plain ignorance and/or laziness.

I pray this happens. Love the guy, think he should get more credit for Griffin’s year than he gets.

The only thing is that I don’t think he’ll be there at no. 32, which is where the Texans will be picking.
