Roundup: Aramis Ramirez to the Brewers, Kobe Spars with Reporters & the GI Joe Retaliation Movie Trailer
Paula Patton … 165 layoffs at the Tampa Tribune and its sister papers …hey, an uplifting link! … headline you’ll click: “Bud Bundy, Original Gangsta” … an interview with Sam Mellinger of the KC Star … some more book recommendations … drunk idiot crashes Camaro into DWI checkpoint … the most depressing story you’ll find in the Roundup … five years probation for Antonie Walker … the price of butter is through the roof in Norway … “The laziest lighting job in Christmas history” …
Aramis Ramirez, who starred the Cubs for the last 8 1/2 years, is now a Milwaukee Brewer at the age of 33. [JS Online]

Here’s DeMarcus Cousins of the Kings talking about eating healthy in the offseason – “whole pizzas” – and gummi worms and funnel cakes.
I didn’t think the GI Joe movie was bad; GI Joe 2 looks like it could be decent.
I found Kobe to be funny in this interview. “Are I just a slice of heaven right now?” He takes a shot at Smush Parker at the 4:10 mark.

…and tricked David Stern into not sending CP3 to the Lakers.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:21 AM
Not believing it until I see the video. The whistle could have been in the stands.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:22 AM
LO and Delonte are nice pick ups but VC is a vortex of suck. He is where bouncing NBA basketballs go to die and poorly shot three pointers follow.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:24 AM
unfortunately for Memphis, Hugh Freeze is the Ole Miss’ new coach.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:25 AM
Freeze replaced Houston Nutt at Ole Miss, not Memphis.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:26 AM
I know how he feels. When I moved in with my then fiance, I went to leave for work and found a note someone left on my car. The note said “watch out, someone pissed on your car”. Sure enough, you could see dried urine on the driver’s side door.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:26 AM
How is Mustain gonna become a Marine with mummy and daddy holding his hand?
Tried to read the Freeze article, but the CA paywall got me.
AJ Smith shouldn’t be allowed to run a Sonic, let alone another team.
Paula Patton – great muscle tone. Yummy.
/team legs
December 13th, 2011 at 8:28 AM
Also, what did Smush actually do to Kobe? It seems like Kobe takes potshots at Smush Parker on a semi-regular basis.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:29 AM
also, fuck the Commercial Appeal for having a paywall. guess what, bitches…I know how to get around your stupid paywall. but it irritates me, so I’m going to complain about it on the internet at a completely different website.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:30 AM
Manti Te’o, Notre Dame’s outstanding linebacker, is staying in South Bend for his senior season.
his other option was camp body for an NFL team
December 13th, 2011 at 8:31 AM
had Memphis on the mind, thanks, guys.
Never have run into the CA paywall, though.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:34 AM
Unless the guy is planning on heading to Officer Candidate School in Quantico, I take it someone didn’t go to class often.
+1 to Paula Patton
December 13th, 2011 at 8:35 AM
In three days, the Dallas Mavericks have added Vince Carter, Lamar Odom and Delonte West.
LOVE delonte west replacing JJ Berea (if he did sign w/ Minny)
December 13th, 2011 at 8:36 AM
it allows 10 free articles a month. I check the CA every day though, so I passed my 10 articles last week.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:36 AM
I found Kobe to be funny in this interview. “Are I just a slice of heaven right now?”
give the guy a little credit. He says “aren’t I,” which while grammatically incorrect, is at least something people say.
He’s not stupid at all, and by misquoting him, you make him sound stupid in an interview where he makes a bunch of reporters sound stupid.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:40 AM
Also, what did Smush actually do to Kobe? It seems like Kobe takes potshots at Smush Parker on a semi-regular basis.
smush said the problems w/ the Lakers start and stop w/ kobe in an inteview.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:40 AM
There you go, Preliminary hearing for Sandusky already over.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:40 AM
Two middle school kids were shot while playing basketball. Hunters are being questioned in the shooting.
what a horrible story. Hunting season is so scary, anyway, but who the fuck shoots towards a school?
December 13th, 2011 at 8:41 AM
TBL, I appreciate the little slice of home with the CA links (at least when I can open them).
December 13th, 2011 at 8:42 AM
What the fuck is wrong with people?
December 13th, 2011 at 8:42 AM
Pretty accurate though.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:44 AM
The Saints did what?
I saw this yesterday. That sounds so, so sketchy. And probably true.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:46 AM
smush being an absolute weak sauce player probably offended Kobe more than him taking shots at him.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:49 AM
SROD – if you’ve passed you 10 allowed articles, there’s a way to read still. when you click on an article, you’ve got about 3-4 seconds of page loading. the “print” option at the top of the article just under the headline loads before the box that tells you you’re over your limit. click that print button and it will load a printer-friendly page that shows the whole article.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:50 AM
The Saints did what?
Likely a fan, but the Saints have no cred after all the Sean Payton fiacos (drug use, media character assassinations, etc). Wouldn’t suprise me if it was Saints Org.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:51 AM
Never thought about that…I guess it IS grammatically incorrect. Should I say “Am I not…”?
December 13th, 2011 at 8:51 AM
Is it really a great year for QBs?
I think it’s just a shitty, shitty year for pass defenses.
Cases in point: DAL, NYG, MIN, BUF, NE, …
December 13th, 2011 at 8:51 AM
Odds that Brees passes for 450 Sunday against that weak and depleted Vikings secondary?
/Team legs in round up picture!
December 13th, 2011 at 8:52 AM
smush being an absolute weak sauce player probably offended Kobe more than him taking shots at him.
Smush helped the Cavs draft Lebron.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:52 AM
@mizerle Does that little trick work for other paywalled newspapers as well?
December 13th, 2011 at 8:53 AM
wow. I can’t tell if you’re being serious or not.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:53 AM
Paula Patton
that body looks silly. daddy want.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:54 AM
Smush was awful when I was watching him at games during my freshman year of college. He’s awful, period.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:55 AM
Never thought about that…I guess it IS grammatically incorrect. Should I say “Am I not…”?
that’s correct, but aren’t I is socially accepted. It won’t make sportsgal go nukular if you say aren’t I. If you said Are I, you just sound like a retard.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:55 AM
The Griffin article was pretty cool. He seems like a guy heading somewhere, somewhere other than the police blotter.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:55 AM
Green Bay. You forgot Green Bay. 2nd worst in the league. No one mentions this.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:57 AM
they will when they can’t win a shootout in the playoffs with the saints or giants.
it’s not talked about now, but it will make for a more compelling drama when they don’t got 19-0 and everyone looks for a reason why.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:57 AM
Green Bay. You forgot Green Bay. 2nd worst in the league. No one mentions this.
couldn’t you say thats because when you’re up so big, teams aren’t running the ball on them?
December 13th, 2011 at 8:58 AM
Miz, thanks for the heads-up. I will use this today.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:58 AM
It’s not even fun for me anymore. If it weren’t for his mom I’d feel sorry for him being another victim of Houston Nutt’s hatred of QB’s.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:59 AM
Good luck to him.
The Rock. MFing legend. I’d like to know Cobra Commander’s economic policy before I condemn him taking over the white house.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:00 AM
I like that. Can the Pats borrow that excuse?
December 13th, 2011 at 9:01 AM
Business decision. Better chance of getting picked in the first couple of days in the draft.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:02 AM
HA! That’s like saying the problems with the Bulls started and stopped with MJ. Most teams would like those “problems”. You know, like deciding which championship ring you’ll wear on a given day.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:02 AM
You can’t be serious. Easily one of the worst movies of the past decade. So much so, it looks like very few of the original cast members are coming back.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:02 AM
Haven’t they already done that during this particular season against each team?
Maybe they won’t do it again in the playoffs, but let’s chalk it up to random variation, and not some failing by their defense.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:03 AM
I’m not sure. the only other paywall site I visit is the WSJ. you can get around that paywall with regularity by googling the article name. open the article’s link, copy the headline, google the exact article, and often, the top WSJ link that google returns will allow you to read the full article.

December 13th, 2011 at 9:03 AM
Rachel Nichols’ bosom was the only thing tolerable about the 1st one.
Supposedly the 2nd nest running back and a mid-1st rounder. He’d look great (as one can possibly look) in a Bengals uni.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:04 AM
Manti Te’o
I’ve seeh mocked a few times in early 2nd round. If you are LB, that’s not bad. Not sure how much higher he can expect to be picked. With Lechly from BC (sic) this year, I don’t think Te’o is going higher. So if he’s trying to imrpove his stock, a lot of risk here. If he’s staying to do college one more year, then fine.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:05 AM
I thing Channing Tatum might be worse at acting than Jessica Alba.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:06 AM
Yes, I left out GB. But only because they haven’t had to lean on that pass defense yet.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:06 AM
I like that. Can the Pats borrow that excuse?
your insecurtiy for all things Pats is insufferable.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:06 AM
NOTRE DAME IS BACK!!!
December 13th, 2011 at 9:06 AM
Just like the Pats already beat the Giants in the regular season in 07! But alas..
December 13th, 2011 at 9:07 AM
I have sat quietly while their defense gets disparaged and not said a word about Green Bay all season. It’s getting old.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:07 AM
If he’s an independent and leans fundamental Libertarian, he’s got my vote for Usurper in Chief.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:08 AM
Thanks Miz. Doubt I’ll ever actually use any of those tricks, but interesting nonetheless.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:08 AM
I think GB runs the table.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:09 AM
I’m curious how the Packers couldn’t win in a shootout with either one of those teams. It’s not like either one of them is boasting a great defense either. I would say the Packers odds of winning is just as good, if not better than either one of those considering they haven’t really been shut down all year, while the other two have at least a couple times.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:09 AM
Paula Patton has burst into my Top 5.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:09 AM
Yeah, it’s also impossible for 21 year olds to want to stay and enjoy their college experience rather than get a job.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:09 AM
So, they essentially deleted the entire cast except for Scarlett, Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes and Duke?
December 13th, 2011 at 9:09 AM
this made me lol on myself.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:11 AM
I couldn’t pick channing tatum out of a lineup, but if I could, I would probably want to punch him for having the name channing tatum. and apparently being a shitty actor.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:11 AM
I think it’s actually talked about quite a bit.
Every week, the analysts and announcers discuss the Packers giving up a lot of yards. The thing that counteracts this is the number of turnovers the Packers’ D creates.
But it’s no secret that Green Bay gives up a lot through the air.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:11 AM
Grandmaster B!
December 13th, 2011 at 9:13 AM
i’m not saying any rematch is going to be won by the opponent, but they’ve been pushed to the brink by two teams who have proven they can go the distance with them and the offensive ability/desperateness to exploit the packers weak passing defense for some scores.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:13 AM
This made me laugh.
I suppose there had to be someone who liked the first one. I was pumped to see it as I grew up on GI Joe, but there were times when I was laughing out loud at scenes that weren’t funny. That’s never a good thing. The second one does look infinity better, though.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:13 AM
Scarlett can get it.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:14 AM
Anyone see the pic of Sandusky arriving at court today? He’s got a sick fucking smirk on. Gives me the heebee jeebies.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:14 AM
Just like the Pats already beat the Giants in the regular season in 07! But alas..
Funny thing is, it was by the same score as GB.
I have sat quietly while their defense gets disparaged and not said a word about Green Bay all season. It’s getting old.
GB has more than decent DBs and 27 INTs so far, compared to the Pats 18 so that argument doesn’t hold much water.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:14 AM
did everyone give up on Hell on Wheels? the last episode wasn’t great, but it was way better than the fight episode from a couple weeks ago.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:15 AM
i’m actually wondering, with ninjas battling with swords while swinging on ropes, why wasn’t there some smart ninja that just crawls up a little bit more while the others are fighting and just cut the ropes?
/indiana jones would not tolerate that kind of foolish swordplay.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:16 AM
I definitely froze the video during the quick shot of her in the red dress.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:17 AM
I probably missed this discussion yesterday because I was chasing the little white ball around.
How was Luck’s debut on HBO?
December 13th, 2011 at 9:17 AM
Anyone ever get a gut punch in the morning, which then ruins your whole day at work? Yeah, that just happened.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:17 AM
His lawyer waived the preliminary hearing this morning – probably the first smart thing he’s done so far.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:17 AM
Bravo.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:18 AM
This was a joke, right? I’ve reached the point where I literally can’t tell anymore.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:19 AM
ummm. that started? i wanted to see that, too.
anyone else catch the “Homeland” episode on Sunday?
December 13th, 2011 at 9:19 AM
Damn Paula Patton looks FINE!!
December 13th, 2011 at 9:19 AM
You get canned at work? If so, that sucks brah.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:20 AM
Anyone ever get a gut punch in the morning, which then ruins your whole day at work? Yeah, that just happened.
The day I showed up and 90% of the blogosphere was blocked. I went all Rain Man for a week.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:21 AM
You don’t even have to go by INT stats(!), the Packers have better players in the secondary.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:21 AM
Who the fuck is Scarlett?
December 13th, 2011 at 9:22 AM
You get canned at work? If so, that sucks brah.
Nah, that didn’t happen, but I will be drinking a lot tonight.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:22 AM
Well during the time Smush was on the team Kobe was demanding a trade and quitting on his team in a game 7.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:23 AM
Why wait? Start drinking now.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:23 AM
now you’re just teasing us.
it’s tuesday, i drink heavily anyway.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:24 AM
Anyone ever get a gut punch in the morning, which then ruins your whole day at work? Yeah, that just happened
happens to me every single day by 10am. this job sucks.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:25 AM
Can we talk about Boardwalk Empire yet?
December 13th, 2011 at 9:26 AM
only negatively.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:26 AM
Yes. Good for the writers having the guts to do what Sons of Anarchy was unwilling to do but still I am saddened.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:26 AM
Totally. Last week my driver was late to pick me up so my secretary assumed I was going to work from home so she didn’t have my coffee waiting for me when I arrived. I was livid.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:27 AM
i might go back and watch the season now, nice to see the writers have some balls.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:27 AM
Let me get tat for you, since the internet is so difficult to use
December 13th, 2011 at 9:27 AM
So the sword is sharp enough that it could cut through super thick rope in one swipe? Because if he’s sitting up there sawing away at the rope, someone could easily climb up to him and stab him in the back while he’s busy sawing.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:28 AM
Can we talk about Boardwalk Empire yet?
Yes please.
only negatively.
What was your issue with that episode?
December 13th, 2011 at 9:28 AM
All the hub-bub surrounding this preliminary hearing, basically shutting down the town of Bellefonte & then they come in and Sandusky waives it?
You talking about this pic
Overhead at the podium, media asking Defense attorney Joseph Amendola after the hearing, “Any truth to the rumor that you will be going to hell with Jerry?“
December 13th, 2011 at 9:29 AM
if there are people on the rope and the rope is taught, itd break extremely easily.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:30 AM
That douche bag Dave Lozo tweeted a link to an EW interview with Terrence Winter (the guy who wrote the season finale) that was really good. He mentioned the polio story line and said all the actors were super pissed about it happening. I found that very confusing.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:30 AM
Smush Parker will never win an arguement vs. Kobe. Stop it. Lil Boi Status!!!
December 13th, 2011 at 9:31 AM
What about the Men in Black 3 trailer, Josh Brolin as a young Tommy Lee Jones.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:31 AM
Green Bay’s 15th in points allowed, ahead of both the Giants and New Orleans. And their defense giving up a lot of yards is talked about all the time locally on on entities other than ESPN. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard “bend don’t break.” ESPN just spends 24/7 talking about Tebow, so you don’t hear it there… but that’s on you. And yes, you’re getting insufferable regarding the Pats. Who cares what other people think of your team?
December 13th, 2011 at 9:31 AM
i’m assuming these ninjas are using Katana’s, which are sharp enough to cut a man in half with one swipe. but seeing as how this is GI Joe and they have a swinging ninja rope fight in the first place, i could be wrong.
also, i fully expect the Rock’s role to end the same way as his cameo in the Reno 911 movie did.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:32 AM
I am pretty stoked for another MIB but after watching that trailer I only thought “Man, Will Smiff is getting a little old.”
December 13th, 2011 at 9:32 AM
The trailer was for the second GI Joe, yes? Show me a character named Scarlett in this movie.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:32 AM
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!
GOD DAMNIT HOLLYWOOD MAKE A FUCKING GOOD GOD DAMNED MOVIE FOR FUCK’S SAKE.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:32 AM
my first reaction was “What the hell is Rick Perry doing there?”
December 13th, 2011 at 9:33 AM
Ex-wife had to call and tell me right before work this morning, that she’s getting engaged. Ugh!
December 13th, 2011 at 9:33 AM
His death in Get Smart was silly
December 13th, 2011 at 9:34 AM
I admit I just assumed the redhead in the red dress was Scarlett, particularly since it looked like the same actress from the original. Is that not the case?
December 13th, 2011 at 9:34 AM
GOD DAMNIT HOLLYWOOD MAKE A FUCKING GOOD GOD DAMNED MOVIE FOR FUCK’S SAKE.
Don’t yell at Hollywood… yell at the millions of idiots that will go see this pile of crap the weekend it gets released.
Speaking of idiot American viewers… do you know Judge Judy makes $45 Million per YEAR?

You should pee on her car.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:34 AM

December 13th, 2011 at 9:34 AM
And I can’t see IMDB and similar sites at work, so don’t “get that for me”.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:34 AM
i hate my life.

still haven’t watched this yet. should i start?

December 13th, 2011 at 9:36 AM
if you were paying spousal support, this could be a good thing, no?
either way, that sucks, dude.
break out the good stuff tonight and take the next step forward with a hangover tomorrow.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:36 AM
That wasn’t Scarlett, that was Adrianne Palicki, from Friday Night Lights playing a character named Lady Jaye.

December 13th, 2011 at 9:36 AM
I don’t recommend running into a packed Madea crowd and calling them idiots.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:36 AM
I didn’t think the GI Joe movie was bad; GI Joe 2 looks like it could be decent.
I didn’t see it. But along these same lines I never had interest in seeing the A-Team movie but saw it about a month ago and it was MUCH better than I had expected. Not a fan of Rampage Jackson as B.A. Baracus though. Didn’t even know who he was til someone pointed him out to me
// trolling
December 13th, 2011 at 9:37 AM
Why worry about it, she’s someone else’s problem now.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:37 AM
Ex-wife had to call and tell me right before work this morning, that she’s getting engaged. Ugh!
Doesn’t that ultimately lead to the end of support payments?
December 13th, 2011 at 9:37 AM
not to get into your personal business, but shouldn’t you be ok with that? sounds like it is no longer your problem, she’s someone else’s problem now. but that is pretty weak of her to call and let you know first thing in the morning.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:37 AM
inthe past, these were fondly know as “nutshell Americans” on this piece of interweb real estate.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:37 AM
I finally saw the finale last night.
Was definitely surprised (I didn’t see it coming….maybe I’m dense) and thought it was pretty good. I guess people were upset because they were invested in that particular character, but it was the only logical place for that relationship to go, IMO.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:37 AM

Oh, baby. Oh, baby. I looooooooooove redheads.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:37 AM
I concur. Thats a weird time of day to call anyone, let alone your ex to tell them youre getting married.

Psst… what the fuck does that have to do with beating the Giants or New Orleans? Or are you suggesting the Pats are a better all around team than Green Bay? What are you whining about, exactly?

She looks better as a blonde, like her character in FNL, than as a brunette which is what she shows up as when you Google search her. I was curious the name of the actress that played her last night when I was watching so I did a little Googling.
MFK: Adrianne Palicki, Minka Kelly, Aimee Teegarden. GO.

I wanted Hawkeye to answer, as he’s clearly wrong here. But since you asked, no, Scarlett is not in this one. The hot chick in the read is either Tyra from Friday Night Lights (who is smoking hot) or some woman named Elodie Yung (who is also smoking hot).
December 13th, 2011 at 9:39 AM
You appeared to be using ‘points’ to prove GB’s defense was better than the Giants and Saints. So if you wanted to do that, I had to tell you why that was flawed..
Take a breath man.

No matter where you are, emotionally, after a divorce or the circumstances that led to it, I think it is natural to feel a little “ugh” when hearing news about the ex.
That said, it could mean the end of alimony (if he’s paying it), which is a good thing.

for the record, i do believe the saints or the giants can knock off the packers in the post season.

December 13th, 2011 at 9:42 AM
Yea. He had became such a presence on the show that it was really becoming a show about him. Helped by the fact that Pitt was one of the best actors on the show but if this is really a show about Enoch then it was the only realistic way to go. In hindsight that episode pointed to that being the only thing to happen and even Jimmy seemed ready for it with how he handled his interactions with those close to him.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:42 AM
It would appear that Mark Jackson still thinks he’s on TV and not coaching the Warrior.

You appeared to be using ‘points’ to prove GB’s defense was better than the Giants and Saints. I had to tell you why that was flawed..
I still don’t understand how it was flawed. The Packers have a much better defense than the Giants (27th) and are better than the saints (17th). And have beat them both. So… I guess I go to a different school of logic than yourself.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:42 AM

I don’t know if they will cover much of Capone. He will still be a presence but that story is kind of already known.

I saw Couturier is getting the bump to #1 center with Giroux out, Philly people. Why not move up Briere? That’s an awful lot of a responsibility for a kid that was a standing on a stage getting drafted about 7 months ago.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:46 AM
I saw the sneak preview of Luck on HBO. You can tell it’s a Michael Mann project from the soundtrack and some shots. I felt disgusted with some of the characters in the series, real slimy degenerates. I was completely into some of the scenes though. HBO is fantastic!
December 13th, 2011 at 9:47 AM

My guess is the Giants will shit the bed and not even make the Playoffs so I guess the Packers won’t really have to worry about them. Eli is the only QB that scares me in the NFC. Alex Smith isn’t coming into lambeau and getting a win.

There’s no good time to get that news but sounds like your heart is in the right place with your kids. I can imagine that dynamic will be tough at times but you’ll have a lifetime with your kids to share, even if the next few years aren’t the way you thought they’d be. Good luck.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:48 AM
Oh I see what youre doing. Youre still using points to say who is best. Are you sure you want to do that? Are you claiming the Pats defense is better than GB’s?
December 13th, 2011 at 9:49 AM

December 13th, 2011 at 9:49 AM
I saw Couturier is getting the bump to #1 center with Giroux out, Philly people. Why not move up Briere?
1) Because Briere is a horrawful centre.
2) Because Couturier is extremely advanced defensively (they already trust him with 3+ of short handed ice time per game) for a kid his age and put up big offensive numbers in junior.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:49 AM

that was my main gripe with the show, certain characters are off limits to mortal danger, but the way they are playing it with their fictional characters as of the last episode are at least promising.

December 13th, 2011 at 9:54 AM
Oh I see what youre doing. Youre still using points to say who is best. Are you sure you want to do that? Are you claiming the Pats defense is better than GB’s?
Sure? I don’t really care and until they play we’ll never know will we? I guess my point is I could care less what the stupid media thinks of the packers or their shoddy defense, nor should you about what they think of the Pats. GB is 13-0. Their defense isn’t exactly great, and I’ve never suggested otherwise. I mean, could Cindy Crawford’s big old mole become cancerous and kill her? Maybe. Maybe not. But she’s still a fucking supermodel.
/was probably a terrible analogy
December 13th, 2011 at 9:54 AM
My guess? They want to see Briere get some chemistry with his linemates…..something he hasn’t had all year.
Couturier can handle it. He’s got good instincts and never seems out of position. I also seem to remember he was considered a top 3 prospect coming out of junior, but I think he got mono or something like that and that caused him to drop to 8th.
Either way, Couturier has skills and I look forward to seeing him play with more skilled linemates.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:54 AM

Briere was slumping at wing until they moved him to center between Hartnell and Leino a couple of years back. Briere is a better offensive player in the middle of the ice.

No worries, thanks for asking. I got 2 boys, 6 and 8, and they are being raised as Giants, Mets, and Liverpool fans.

December 13th, 2011 at 9:59 AM
Plus, there’s a great likelihood that Bengals/Ravens will have the greatest playoff implications.
The Lions will possibly be in by then and GB will already be the top seed.
The Bengals may be playing for the 6 seed and the Ravens may be playing for the 1 seed.

Eli is a turd. No doubt.
This will help, but it’s hard to hear about your kid(s) having some grand old time without you and with the step parent. I went through that and it blows. You have to discipline yourself to think that as long as the kid(s) is safe and is loved, that it will all work out.
December 13th, 2011 at 10:01 AM
I think Nucky said it in a previous episode that ‘blood is thicker than water’. So yes Eli gets to live because he won the gene pool over Jimmy.
I found it interesting that the first bullet through Jimmy went right where Richard’s injury was.

yeah, that will be a good game.. but it all depends on whether the jets win or lose, right, since the 6 spot would be between those two teams?
however, if the steelers lose this weekend to the niners, then it makes the game less important since that would lock up with top 1 or 2 seed for the ravens.

I believe you are correct.

I apologize in advance for the mean things I’m about to say about your ex-wife, but that bitch needs to get her priorities straight. December 13th, 2011 at 10:07 AM
I see that. That is all we want also. We just happened to fall in love with a person who has kids. Unfortunately I deal with a bio mom who is nasty and hates my guts and has tried to sabotage my relationship with the kids. If it doesn’t creep you out I would encourage you to get to know the guy. Also, hopefully your ex isn’t a psycho beast.

It’s a bit more complicated. She has mentioned him to me, but not to my kids, as we want to properly explain the family dynamic change, and what to say. I have to figure this out AFTER she plans all this shit. The guy is from FUCKING INDIA, and that’s why I haven’t met him. She went to London a few times to meet him, and the last time she went, they got engaged. She tells me this now before she goes off again this weekend to see him.
