Norv Turner lost a game the same way last week. Had an young kicker who had already missed a long one in the game, and he plays for the long FG. Ran the ball on 3rd and 6 instead of trying to get a 1st and a more reasonalbe FG. Run gets stuffed for a loss of 4. Novak misses again, SD loses. Why do coaches treat 48+ FGs as gimmes?

I’d say the same thing I said for Fitzpatrick. If you can’t get a sure-thing QB anyway, get the best players available, build around him, and then in a couple years your worst case scenario you have most of a team and can bring a QB into a great situation.

I’m flabberghasted that Tebow can look so so terrible in the first half of every game, and then come out and have the 2nd half like he did against MN. What goes on in that locker room? I think he had 48 yards passing the first half, the second half Denver’s offense looked legit — again, more of a result of MN deciding not to play defense.. but still.

That’s a separate issue though. I, and I think most people would, see Tebow as a marginally interesting side story. That he a QB is succeeding with a quickly improvised read-option in a league against the best football defenses in the world is the story. Not Tebow himself.

I’ll expect a long post from TBL about this later today due to his absurd claim that Tebow is the biggest story in the NFL right now.

I like to kill TBL on just about everything, but after the Packers going for 19-1, this is a pretty big deal. Tebow is polarizing, and I’m finding myself interested in how they do, and hoping they make the playoffs. I just wish he had more to do with the wins.
