My ballot: RG3, Honey Badger, Luck.
December 5th, 2011 at 6:27 PM
Luck, Richardson, Barkley
December 5th, 2011 at 6:36 PM
RG III should win it. Just like Toby Gerhart should have won it in 2009.
If Richardson wins then I suppose it’s more BS to go with the rest of this sport they’re run into the ground.
December 5th, 2011 at 6:38 PM
My ballot: Luck, Richardson, Griffin
How it will play out imo: Richardson, Luck, Mathieu
December 5th, 2011 at 6:46 PM
Robert Griffin III, Montee Ball, Andrew Luck in that order.
December 5th, 2011 at 6:48 PM
I agree with this. It’s really difficult to build any case for Richardson over Ball.
December 5th, 2011 at 6:48 PM
No McGloin? This sport is a sham.
Go Honey Badger.
December 5th, 2011 at 6:49 PM
No one should’ve won it in 2009. Statistically the finalists were all fine, but no one was really spectaular, just solid.
/except Suh
//but he couldn’t really get style points playing DT
December 5th, 2011 at 6:51 PM
Alabama would’ve done nearly the exact same thing without him. Maybe they wouldn’t have beaten Arkansas by as much and maybe lost to LSU by 3-4 points more, but they’d have the exact same record.
December 5th, 2011 at 6:52 PM
RG III should win it. Just like
Toby GerhartNdamukong Suh should have won it in 2009./fixed for reality
December 5th, 2011 at 6:54 PM
The year Tebow won and Darren McFadden finished 2nd was really a down year.
December 5th, 2011 at 6:55 PM
The biggest argument against Ball is questioning if he’s even the best player on his offense…somewhat amazing for Russell Wilson to be on most watch lists at midseason, fall off the pace and then have Ball storm through to even get an invite
December 5th, 2011 at 6:58 PM
the award’s montee’s to lose if he shows up in a gorilla vest.
/feel this sweater, there’s no better than authentic irish setter
December 5th, 2011 at 6:59 PM
Rg3. Homer aside, he should win it. Best stats, leader, and he is our team. Very happy he is a finalist regardless
December 5th, 2011 at 7:00 PM
Heisman finalist, but no respect from the Ray Guy Award committee
/all politics
December 5th, 2011 at 7:01 PM
if based on best player then RG3 should win. best player on best team then honey badger. who will be first in draft then luck. best player on favorite team then richardson. i feel like richardson will win it since bama is in national title
December 5th, 2011 at 7:03 PM
My ballot would have been:
1) James, 2) RGIII, 3) Richardson
If James didn’t miss the two games, I can’t imagine he doesn’t get invited to NYC. Even so, I think he was the best player in CFB this season.
December 5th, 2011 at 7:03 PM
there’s a stomping joke in there somewhere.
December 5th, 2011 at 7:09 PM
Ball and Richardson just don’t have a signature moment. I suppose Richardson has the run in which he spun the DB around but Ball? Can you think of a more boring way to challenge Barry Sanders TD record? Luck has the 4th Qtr against USC not to mention the whole career reward aspect, the Honey Badger has the PRs against Ark and UGA, RGIII has had a number of explosive games where he has just willed Baylor to a win by himself.
If I were voting….
1. RGIII 2. Luck (Lived up to the hype and expectations with basically little receiving help) 3. Honey Badger (The guy showed up at big moments)
How it will play out….
1. Luck 2. Richardson 3. RGIII
December 5th, 2011 at 7:13 PM
Gordie Lockbaum
December 5th, 2011 at 7:13 PM
This would be mine, but will be shocked if it goes to anyone other than Luck or Richardson
December 5th, 2011 at 7:27 PM
Rg3 had signature moments, and had probably less to work with than luck or Richardson. I don’t think anyone has been better
December 5th, 2011 at 7:33 PM
Griffin should win, but he’ll get jobbed by the committee for a great player on a great team (Luck/Mathieu).
December 5th, 2011 at 7:34 PM
1. Ganja Badger
2. RG III
3. Mo Claiborne
4. Richardson
5. Sucks for Luck
9,320: That poor dude from Wofford
December 5th, 2011 at 7:36 PM
Gordie Lockbaum
Joe Dudek
/ What the Heck, Why Not?
December 5th, 2011 at 7:37 PM
Everything I’ve seen has RGIII with a comfortable lead, but who knows.
December 5th, 2011 at 7:39 PM
Tyrann Mathieu, LSU, DB/P
Heisman finalist, but no respect from the Ray Guy Award committee
The “P” stands for “puffer,” not “punter.”
December 5th, 2011 at 7:51 PM
LeBron?
December 5th, 2011 at 7:52 PM
If you’re going to ding Richardson for his performance against LSU, LaMike James was even worse. Though it’s probably not a good thing when your signature Heisman moment is against Ole Miss.
December 5th, 2011 at 7:53 PM
Oh great. That clown Carl Dukes will scream that Keenum got shafted
December 5th, 2011 at 7:54 PM
PUT ‘EM UP!!!
December 5th, 2011 at 8:17 PM
I think it’s Mathieu and then everyone else. If that guy isn’t the most exciting and unstoppable player this year, than I don’t know who is. Also, as a boon to Heisman voters, he’s on the best team. It seems like a no brainer to me, but then again college football polls rarely have anything in common with thinking.
December 5th, 2011 at 8:20 PM
it’s between Ball, Richardson and RG3.
just for fun, it’d be nice to see how each of these players would do against each other’s conferences. not to take anything away from Ball, but i seriously doubt he puts up those numbers in the SEC. RG3, on the other hand, would stand a better chance to put up comparable, Newton-esq stats.
December 5th, 2011 at 8:20 PM
Wing > Richardson. Yeah, I said it.
December 5th, 2011 at 8:21 PM
Carl Dukes is terrible. I hate the bumps on that channel. Houston sports talk is tough to take in the afternoon.
December 5th, 2011 at 8:24 PM
RGTres, Luck, Richardson
December 5th, 2011 at 8:31 PM
Kellen Moore, RGIII, Luck
Wait…for real: RGIII, Luck, Mathieu. Fuck Richardson
December 5th, 2011 at 8:41 PM
Fuck Richardson
you’re biggest Bama hater around these parts. like it’s his fault Bama was voted into the NC game.
December 5th, 2011 at 10:19 PM
1. RG3
2. Honey Badger
3. Trent
4. Ball
5. Barkley
6. Luck
December 5th, 2011 at 10:22 PM
I’m a Bama homer, but I think it should go to RBIII or Luck. Richardson actually is a better RB at this time in college than Ingram was when he won the Heisman in 2009, but I don’t know if he’s the best college player. He’s the best RB no doubt, but I I believe it should go to RGII or Luck.
December 5th, 2011 at 10:41 PM
I’d vote Luck, RGIII, Mathieu. It hurts me to type that because of Richardson being from Pensacola but I don’t think he justified a top 3 vote this season. And even if he wins the award it’s going to be vacated in a couple of years. I have no problem with Griffin winning it but I haven’t seen anybody actually look like a better player than Luck
December 5th, 2011 at 10:53 PM
RGIII, Mathieu, Barkley. Griffin’s signature moment was that first half against TCU.
December 5th, 2011 at 11:13 PM
Barkley is disqualified because of his hair
December 5th, 2011 at 11:15 PM
Honestly, I feel people screwed Barkley because of USC’s probation. It’s unfair and a shame but seems to be the reality.
December 5th, 2011 at 11:17 PM
I don’t hate Bama. I hate the people sucking their dick and entitling them to all this shit because they play in the SEC.
December 5th, 2011 at 11:39 PM
I like the Honey Badger (as far as most exciting player). I think Monte Ball should win it tho – 38 touchdowns is pretty fucking impressive. As much as i hate Barkley, he should be there…
December 6th, 2011 at 12:28 AM
I’m fine as long as the top 3 are (in no order) Honey Badger, RG3 and Luck.
December 6th, 2011 at 12:29 AM
I’m fine as long as the top 3 are (in no order) Honey Badger, RG3 and Luck.
‘Tis not to be. Mathieu will finish no higher than 4th and more likely will be 5th.
