Roundup: An Incredible Frisbee Catch, Drunk Girls Brawling in Atlantic City & Dwight Howard to the Nets?
Alessandra Ambrosio … those tabloids really did Charlotte Church dirty … this is a great Craig’s List ad … she hid crack pipes between her butt cheeks … pretty cool: a newspaper for the twitter age … Rick Perry got confused by the voting age … he took a nude stroll and got arrested … Hayden Panettiere is still dating a Jets’ player … because the hedge funds needed help, obviously … burglars are getting increasingly stupid … Michael Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, got four years in jail …

Not in front of a mic, but he lost it on the officials in the first period of last night’s game. They missed a clear crosscheck to Richards’ back and then call a terrible offsides on a 3 on 2 for the Rangers. Torts exploded. It was fantastic. Rangers started dominating shortly thereafter.

He was responsible for the first two, no question. Soft as soft can be. Then the guys in front of him laid down and gave up a 4 on 2 for the 3rd goal and left a wide open man in the slot 5 feet from the net for the 4th goal. Bad effort all around. They had no desire after the first 20 minutes.

So Chris Paul rumors will get multiple postings, but Dwight to the future BRK team can’t even get one?

What didn’t you like about them? I thought last week’s episode was excellent. This week’s was a little slow for me but that’s only because I get bored with extensive character flashbacks.

I refuse to believe Howard Stern is still relevant.
But isn’t that more due to his medium dying? Honestly, who listens to their radio unless they’re in their car/stuck at the office — and can’t listen to their iPod/iPhone?

What? You don’t know what Mandy Patinkin looks like?
It’s not like I have a Princess Bride poster in my room. I haven’t thought about that movie since I watched it in 12th grade English class. Also, the beard threw me for a loop.
I’m a Stern homer, so I’ll try to defend him. He’s rumored to be a judge on one of the higest rated shows. He has had multiple interviews over the last year that have been fodder for entertainment news and real news (David Arquette, Tony Bennett, Brett Rattner). Though Sirius doesn’t release ratings, I would assume his is #1 — I realize he doesn’t have the pull that he did in the 90′s, but he still has some relevance.

November 30th, 2011 at 9:43 AM
What didn’t you like about them?
It’s not that I hated them, but the reveal at the very end of last week’s episode where you find out Brody was working for that diplomat/Nazir left me worried that they’d do something like to keep people watching (a la “24). I like the character driven stuff more. Still can’t make up my mind about Carrie. Sometimes I find her really annoying. And I don’t completely understand why she made contact (banged Brody in the backseat)… was that suppossed to show her illness or personality disorder that she has? It is a very good show though.
November 30th, 2011 at 9:44 AM
I had already googled that and saw that there was one set to open in 2010, Duluth area, but on their site there isnt one listed. So must have closed. Just askin.

Sutter said he had a 7-year story mapped out. But I can’t see how this show makes it without Ron Perlman for multiple seasons.
And if Clay somehow comes out of all this with his life intact, it will feel like a cop-out. After watching shows like Game of Thrones off lead and major characters, you can’t be pulling this will he/won’t he crap for too long.

November 30th, 2011 at 9:48 AM
And I don’t completely understand why she made contact (banged Brody in the backseat)… was that suppossed to show her illness or personality disorder that she has?
I thought she initally pursued Brody soley because that became her obsession professionally. Mixed with the fact that she is off her rocker, she had consufed herself if she had developed real feelings for him. They only had a “relationship” when both were drinking — though I did like Brody’s backstory as to why he was “turned”.
November 30th, 2011 at 9:48 AM
Someone summed up how I feel about SOA on twitter: “the show is shot through instagram.”
November 30th, 2011 at 9:48 AM

Thats far too long imo, if they try to run it that far it will get cancelled. They are only on 4 right? How many more times can they outsmart the FBI?
November 30th, 2011 at 9:49 AM
i feel like if its going to go 3 more seasons, they need to devote one to being a ‘flashback season’ with all the originals. i think that would be better than just dragging out current storylines and introducing new ones.
but i dare someone to find a better cable TV show than Breaking Bad.
November 30th, 2011 at 9:50 AM
Haven’t read all the comments, so maybe someone said this, but as far as I understand, this is not unusual. I think a car for the coach and his wife, each, is standard. And the golf club membership is, I believe, justified as essentially a tool for the coach to promote and maybe even fund-raise for the program.

Our tech people who have a grade A conniption about that. Now, I used to manage Outlook server back in the day, so it may have changed, but if your outlook file got corrupted you’d be up a creek. Yes you could go back and beg people to recover the old file and restore it but that seems really lazy.

November 30th, 2011 at 9:57 AM

Radio is plenty relavent. I rezlize the ipod/ipad/iphone is great, but at a certain point people get tired of looking for music and would rather be spoonfed programming. I constantly scour for new bands, but most people in their 30′s and olders quit giving a crap about new music and just turn on the radio.

something is up. either Romeo is setting SOA up, and/or there is more to Potter’s character. there is speculation that he is somehow linked to John Teller
It’s odd that Romeo’s connections couldn’t come up with something as unusual as Bobby Elvis’ fall. So either he’s setting SAMCRO up OR he’s just interested in his meet-up with the Irish Kings and doesn’t give a damn that SAMCRO is about to break apart.
Either option is realistic for a guy like Romeo.

I don’t think you can really compare regular cable with premium cable.
For as awesome as Breaking Bad is, it draws the same as The Glades on A&E.

There’s a lot of truth to this. I’m in the middle. I’m always on the lookout for new bands, but it can be hard to find anything of quality. I love Sirius because they do play a lot of new music. It’s not perfect, but I think it’s a good combo of new and old.

Re: Homeland
My fear is that if they go down the “24″ route, they’ll end up making Saul the bad guy/mole. That seems like it would just be jerking the audience around….I like his character. I was afraid when they had him fail that polygraph that’s where they were headed eventually.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:02 AM
I constantly scour for new bands, but most people in their 30′s and olders quit giving a crap about new music and just turn on the radio.
Over 30 and I love satellite radio for this aspect — I can find something I haven’t heard before. I also listen to all sorts of music podcasts to find new artists. Helps keep the mind refreshed.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:02 AM
same here, but now watching great TV shows has supplanted movies for me, so it’s a trade off and i’m glad for it.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:03 AM
Seems like I’ve heard this story before with another team….
I’m not too worried about this honestly. Unless the cap takes a serious dive, Luongo’s contract is not that big a deal. It’s a bit much for a backup, but the actual dollar amount isn’t anything the Canucks can’t handle.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:03 AM
See, what I’m getting from Carrie is that she’s obsessed not with Brody but with doing whatever she can to prevent another 9/11. She feels like she didn’t do enough so now she’s relentless whenever she gets a piece of information that may lead to a terrorist. That’s why she went to that Iraqi even though she was specifically told not to. It’s also why she set up the illegal wire tap and surveillance at Brody’s home.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:05 AM
surprised it hasn’t turned into a nice red wine vinegrette over night.

A&E is home to some terrible, terrible television. And people watch it. A lot of people. I like the hog catching shows, especially the one with the two big tittied, no hog catching hog catchers.

I always thought The Wire was the greatest series i’ve seen on tv. any station. Breaking Bad is the only show thats at least made me reconsider that claim.

Apparently this show is a remake of some show that aired in Israel so you may be able to find out whether or not it’s going to be like 24 if you do a little google searching. I loved 24 so I’m ok with it going that way but I don’t think it will. This show is more reality-based than 24.

See, what I’m getting from Carrie is that she’s obsessed not with Brody but with doing whatever she can to prevent another 9/11.
That’s another thing.. how old is she supposed to be. She looks to be 32? 33? I guess it’s possible that she was high enough up in the CIA at 22 or 23 to have been in the position to have stopped 9/11… but even if she was 24 or 25, you think she would have been an entry level analyst or something… unless we’re supposed to believe she’s like some prodigy or something?

Has anyone seen “The Corner”? its kinda the prequel to The Wire. but its shot more like a documentary. But anyway, it has alot of the same characters from the wire but different roles. Lt. Daniels is a drug addict, Lester Freamon plays a Bubbles-type role, Jay Landsman is owns a scrap metal yard that pays the crackheads, Orlando who owns Avons club is a sober dude who has a good job, i’m probably leaving out others but its weird. still a great series. 4 episodes i believe. It is actually based around a real like Baltimore kid. well that kid from the 80′s/90′s..well that same person is the guy who plays Brother Mouzzone’s bodyguard. He’s not even an actor.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:33 AM
Good point… Maybe she was an analyst and really couldn’t do anything about 9/11, but her mental illness makes her obsessive?
Yeah maybe. The convo she had with Saul where she was blaming herself for missing something on 9/11 just left me scratching my head, because she was probably 22 or 23 at the time… and she made it seem like she was one of the lead terrorist preventers or whatever.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:33 AM
Deb needs to find out….but they don’t know how.

They’ve mentioned Carrie ascending quickly through the CIA ranks, I think it’s because she intimidates superiors with her crazy eyes
When are people going to turn on the show for having a liberal agenda after the bit with Isa and terrorist humanization?
That actually falls in line with the characters since they never solve shit anyhow…what’s the count up to now for how many people alive know what Dexter does? And yet Deb’s not one of them somehow
November 30th, 2011 at 10:35 AM
Yea. Pretty much the show I was thinking of. After the Trinity season they should have had a 2 year plan max to end the show. Now it looks like they have the old formula and who knows when this show will end. I can only fast forward through so much.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:36 AM
Well after you squander numerous opportunities to let her find out, it would not surprise me if the writers don’t know how.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:37 AM
Well I know that she’s Saul’s prodigy and is supposed to be advanced for her class of analysts so maybe she’s in her mid-30′s and had been with the agency for a few years already when 9/11 happened. Don’t forget she also slept with David at some point during her tenure so that, to me, means she’s relatively young.
Speaking of David, I just remembered he had that conversation with the Muslim analyst that has been helping Carrie and he told him to keep his eye on him. Nothing ever happened with that or else he would have known she was sleeping with Brody, right? That’s a little inconsistent.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:37 AM

i agree, she does need to find out, and it does seem like things are in motion for it to happen.
for example, she’s put in a place now to cover up or not cover up investigations, she won’t cover up now, but will she?
the intern is taking a serious interest in dexter and has the stolen evidence from the ice truck killer, could he find a connection?
the show is enjoyable to me, like true blood, it’s just fun to watch. definitely not on the level of BB.

Don’t forget she also slept with David at some point during her tenure so that, to me, means she’s relatively young.
… that’s one way to get promoted quickly.

Colin Hanks is the worst villain they’ve had (although I didn’t see season 3 so that could have been worse) and there are too many pointless subplots with supporting characters that go nowhere…also the show never risking to change has made it grow stale, even the episode where he debated going rogue and killing for fun again was resolved by the end of a single hour
I’m glad that once True Blood’s season ended I have another show to hate on each week (I don’t watch The Walking Dead)
November 30th, 2011 at 10:40 AM
It’s the DVRs fault. I watch a ridiculous amount of TV. But, I get to participate in a TV focus group that pays $100 so there’s that…
November 30th, 2011 at 10:41 AM
I know a lot of people from Bucks County.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:42 AM
Interesting….I like those points.
/nods
What’s really bad is that I’m currently rewatching Lost for the 6th time.

I think her and David were peers at one point so it hasn’t really helped her. Plus it’s pretty obvious that they hate each other now.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:42 AM
what the fuck is wrong with you? jesus tittyfucking christ you weren’t insulted enough after the first viewing?
November 30th, 2011 at 10:43 AM
JEALOUS!
How’d you score that?
November 30th, 2011 at 10:44 AM
I tell myself this a lot, but it’s just something I enjoy. My only problem is that I have a hard time stopping watching shows I dislike. I haven’t watched the last two episodes of Boardwalk Empire, and I’m thinking I may put that one down. It’s fucking horrible.
The Office is next.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:44 AM
i do think they have deb find out, and then have 1 season with the aftermath of that knowledge.
i do still miss Doaks, he was an awesome foil for Dexter.
LaGuerta needs to go the path of the novels very soon.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:44 AM
this. I saw a rerun of Planet Earth was on last night. other than sports, the Planet Earth and Life series were the last appointment tv for me.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:44 AM
lol…it’s my favorite show of all time. I watch Breaking Bad, The Wire, and all those too. Nothing touches Lost for me.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:44 AM
I think her and David were peers at one point so it hasn’t really helped her. Plus it’s pretty obvious that they hate each other now.
But her giving bedroom eyes to her male superiors seems to be her go-to move when she wants them to give her something she wants though. I mean, she pretty much offered herself up on a platter to Saul right after he found out about her video set up. Gross.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:45 AM
I’d like $100 to talk about what I hate on TV…people need to know what I think about Paula Deen
November 30th, 2011 at 10:45 AM
I hate Lost, but I empathize with this. I rewatch 30 Rock like crazy. And I’m going through The Wire and The Sopranos for the 3rd/4thish time right now.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:46 AM
Now you know another one. It’s also a huge county too with big graduating classes (most around me back in 2000 were around 650-850)
November 30th, 2011 at 10:46 AM
She’s such a cunt. They have been referencing his brother a lot this season too…maybe this is a set up for Deb to find out by the end of the season. That would be a hell of a twist.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:47 AM
Also, I think if/when the TV watching begins interfering with living a productive life, I’ll stop.
/I could always stop if I wanted to
November 30th, 2011 at 10:48 AM
if you haven’t already, you need to find Frozen Planet from the BBC, its the same group who did Planet Earth. all shot in HD. Its new for 2011, i think its like an 8 part series. but its amazing television.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:49 AM
that’s awesome. I always intend on watching stuff but I end up fucking around the house for a good 2 hours when I get home after work and usually don’t have time. my dvr fills up quick too and I usually end up deleting half the stuff on there.
Planet Earth on a HD tv is so awesome.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:50 AM
ya’ll naw that canby true Butters…you complete me.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:50 AM
It took some effort. I’ve signed up for a few websites that administer these focus groups. You first have to take an online survey to see if you qualify. Even if you do qualify, you may not be called because they have to fill certain demographics based on age, race and income level. If you qualify and are in a demographic they still need, then they call you and ask you basically the same questions they asked on the initial online survey.
The trick is you have to answer the questions emphatically with the answers they’re looking for. So if they ask you whether or not you spend at least an hour a week watching nature programs, you say you absolutely do even if you don’t.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:51 AM
yeah, it’s leading that way because he is being more careless… serial killer colin hanks could really throw this for a loop since he knows much more about dexter and would be willing to throw him under the bus. he started hanging out with brother sam around the time these started, he surprised Deb he knew this much about it…
November 30th, 2011 at 10:52 AM
Dexter should end with Deb killing Dexter and I don’t even think at this point that could hold my attention.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:53 AM
I haven’t been able to see Dexter on Netflix streaming since season 2. Everybody says the season with John Lithgow is the best. Should I just stop there?
November 30th, 2011 at 10:53 AM
There is absolutely zero reason to watch the Discovery version of Planet Earth, Blue Planet, etc. The narration is insulting compared to the original done by Attenborough. Fuck you Sigourney Weaver and fuck you Oprah.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:54 AM
I’d say so.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:54 AM
i don’t think the subsequent seasons after Lithgow were terrible, they had a very high bar to live up to.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:55 AM
Probably. Season 5 was meh….I’ve been ok with this season….but like wilhelm said…it’s enjoyable to watch, just don’t over think it.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:55 AM
I like Sigourney Weaver narration not so much the Oprah. But I could listen to that smokey voice of Weaver all day.
November 30th, 2011 at 10:56 AM
who the fuck watches those shows for the narrating?
November 30th, 2011 at 11:00 AM
Season 5 sucked. I hated that buck-toothed chick every second she was on. Plus Dexter kinda became a pussy.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:00 AM
I am a season behind in Dexter, so don’t ruin it people.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:01 AM
Don’t worry, I will leave that to the show.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:03 AM
it turns out the dexter has actually been dead since season 1 and he’s in a purgotory/limbo, but when he kills people he actually sends them back into the real world and frees them from the matrix.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:04 AM
ha, finally! i got espn to actually cancel my subscription to The Mag! such a pain in the ass.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:05 AM
ha, finally! i got espn to actually cancel my subscription to The Mag! such a pain in the ass.
It took me a long time to do that as well. I was also a special case because I had insider for a while, but didn’t want the magazine coming. You would have thought that I wanted an autographed copy every month it was so complicated.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:27 AM
after multiple attempts i not only found out they adjusted the expiration date on the card my account was associated with to 2054 so auto-renewals would still go through, i had to put use an old card i cancelled years ago for them cancel automatically.
