Gotta think the Sixers will use the provision on Elton Brand.

Wouldn’t surprise me, but still a lot of money to eat there. Depending upon the season, Sixers will be 5-7 seed or will bomb and trade Iggy.

There are going to be so many financial dominnos that have to fall before all this happens. The market forces are going to just murda the current UFA’s into smaller deals.

I really don’t see there being any complete teams, nobody will have the resources to fill out a team. San Antonio has the least holes but is decrepit old.

I think a wild card is if Norris Cole can be a serviceable #1 for Miami. The Heat will still get torched on the glass though.

Yep. Bulls wouldn’t be talking about Dwight Howard at all. Once Amare moved from playing in the 5 on D’antonis system to actually having a center and playing in the 4 he was a completely different man. Which is why I hate Robert Sarver.

Well Alvin Gentry got the best season of Amare’s career out of him by getting him to focus on defense. Carmelo is a lost cause but Amare just needs the right coach, and coach D’Antoni is not that coach.

Reading stuff like that makes me sad that Bulls didn’t pursue A’mare instead of Carlos Boozer. He could have thrived with Noah doing the garbage man work plus he wouldn’t be the total defensive liability that Booz is.

You’ve got a bunch of guys under contract that are mostly disinterested in playing any defense at all. Doesn’t D’Antoni make complete sense? I’m not even trolling, that’s an honest assessment.
What good would a defensive coach be with players like A’mare and Cancermelo?

That’s why they wanted to go to NY, but they need to play SOME defense. Outside of Amare or Turiaf getting the occasional block, there’s nothing there.

CP3 is by far my favorite player in the league and I want him to have great success, but the Knicks will not be the answer. I haven’t read any of the details with the new deal, but there is no way they can afford him and still build a contender. The Knicks ceiling is a 4 seed.
