Urban Meyer Makes it Official: He’s Ohio State’s New Coach

Urban Meyer’s agent just confirmed what the college football world has speculated about since May 30th, when Jim Tressel resigned: Meyer is Ohio State’s new football coach.

Yes, this is the same Urban Meyer who pulled a drama queen stunt two Decembers ago; the same Urban Meyer who quit Florida last year to “spend more time with his family.” Remember when someone gave him the nickname Urban Liar? That was funny. And accurate.

I’ve never been a fan of Ohio State, but this move definitely makes me a bigger Michigan fan.

YES!!!! Got a co-worker who owes me lunch cause we bet, him saying Urban was going to Penn State. This bet was prior to the whole Sandusky fiasco. After that scandal broke, I knew there was no way in hell Urban was coming to Central PA

Urban was never going to PSU, regardless of recent circumstances. No way they pony up that kind of absurd money. What, 5 mil a year plus another 2 for assistants? No way.

I really dont get the outrage over his return to coaching…his dream job (sorry nd fans) opens up unexpectedly and he made a choice. It’s not like he came back to some tier 2 or 3 program. Ohio State is one of the 3 best jobs in college football
