I spent $1300 and never left the comfort of my house. I’ve gone to two Black Fridays and fuck that shit. Those people are crazy. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see my mom showing up in one of those “Woman gets in fight over Doorbuster item” articles. She goes to another level on Black Friday.

Incidents such as these are sad and shameful for the world-view of our country. Just 24 hours after we are supposed to give thanks and show compassion for those in need, all of this comes to surface from the Capitalist mania the public is worked into by Big Business. Nieces and nephews get a gift between $20 and $40. We got a couple friends that we spend maybe $30 to $40 on, and our parents are getting a gift around $50 to $60.

We always aim to keep our tab below $500, including ourselves. Of course, the wife usually pushes us beyond that mark.

Depends on the person: immediate family gets $100, extended family/friends gets $50 or under, long-distance peeps get a laurel and hearty handshake.

I can scarcely remember going to an actual mall to do Christmas shopping. Shopping online is the only way to fly.

i’ve been a few times, and i’ve worked retail those days. it’s kind of sad to see the rush to buy stuff.

It actually begins with the people in charge of this dark American “holiday” who keep opening earlier and earlier.
