No other level of NCAA football has a 16 game playoff system that anyone cares about. There is a big difference from running games were schools bid on hosting playoff games and have to fill single digit thousand seats and having to fill up to 110,000 seats on 1 week notice during the time of year people have the most outside obligations.

The funniest part of all of this is that people bitch about big schools playing Directional U as non-conference games, yet they want the little guys in their 16 team playoff. Can somebody square that for me?

They changed the formula because the sports writers bitched Miami did not get in over FSU. The change they came up with though would have still put FSU in the game over Miami. The only way a formula would put Miami in the BCS title game that year over FSU would be to only go by human polls.

That was my point you can make the case for Miami heads up over FSU but you can’t make the Miami over Washington case. All 3 losses were single score on the road to top 10 teams.

And after the novelty of playoffs wear out how are they going to sell out stadiums? This is not basketball were you need only 20k to fill up an arena most located in metro areas. These are games that are taking place in more rural areas on 1 week notice up to 3 times in December. Big money donors and boosters are the types that already have holiday obligations with work and family parties but now you are expecting 20k to travel every weekend for a month.

They were ranked number 2 at the end of the season. Sagarin (I assumed that is what you meant even though you spelled it wrong) is not the be all and end all. And if the BCS got it so right, why did they change the formula after that year? Nice try trying to use single digit score margins to justofy though.

Make the case for Texas over OU when OU had the greater MOV in the round robin.

Texas lost a one possession game on the road, OU lost by double digits in a neutral site game.

2004 Tell me when Auburn should have jumped OU in the polls. Even if the pre season polls did not exist there is no point that the humans would have ever voted them ahead of OU in the regular season.
