Tim Tebow Scores Late Touchdown On 95 Yard Drive To Win, After Doing Nothing All Game
“Just the most mind boggling, polarizing figure I’ve ever seen in football” – Mike Mayock
Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos offense was dreadful. Dreadful! For the first 54 minutes of the game. Tebow was 6 for 15 passing for 69 yards, and ran the ball only twice for 11 yards. The Broncos had 6 total first downs, most of which came on the opening drive.
The only reason that they were in the game was because the Jets offense was equally dreadful, and because Mark Sanchez threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown when the Jets were up 10-3.
Then, the Broncos went empty backfield and just let Tebow make plays with his feet, with 95 yards to go trailing 13-10. He had 6 rushes for 57 yards, including the game winner, and completed 3 passes for 35 yards on the final drive.
Twice now, I’ve watched Tebow win a game late after doing nothing, less than nothing for most of the game. Against a good offense, he doesn’t have those opportunities, because you normally aren’t in a game where the offense generates 3 points. Still, he has come up with big plays late, and seems to play looser and not worry about trying to be a pocket passer.
Let’s be honest, though: the real star of this team is Von Miller. Tebow gets the love for the late heroics; this defense is playing much better and Miller is the driving force.

Wayne Hunter will make anybody look like an all pro.

Von Miller is the next Derrick Thomas, as a Chiefs fan that must really suck for you.

Now please can we get the video of Revis playing matador? It’s like the analysts refuse to mock him in the same way that official refuse to call pass interference on him. Apparently a couple good years make you an all time made man.

They Beat Miami who is one of the worst teams in the leauge, and Tebow was awful
Got crushed by Detroit
Beat Oakland due to two long runs by the running back and a put return for a Td. Tebow’s last throw in that gam was midway through the 3rd quarter and Denver was losing. He did not win that game
They beta Kansas City with a Offense no one knew about…ala Miami and the “Wildcat” beating New England
and they just beat a New York Jets team that played Sunday Night and a team that is really overrated
I’m not impressed
115 attempts 52 completions not even 50% for 670 yards

Oh what a beautiful morning! Oh what a beautiful day! Ive got a wonderful feeeeeling that everything’s going my way!

that last drive by Denver was like watching a rape scene that you felt you should stop (for Sanchez’s sake), but for some reason you were turned on and couldn’t turn away
I just don’t understand how nobody can figure out how to defend a high school offense in the pros.

I didn’t actually see the game but if I understand what I’ve read, the Jets did just fine defending the shitty Broncos offense except for the part of the Broncos offense that involves defensive backs returning INTs for touchdowns

I’m still in shock. I might need therapy. I’m burning an effigy of Mierda at some point today.
November 18th, 2011 at 8:00 AM
The Jets defended it really well, actually. The last drive was a lot of improvisation and a couple of nice passes. Shit happens. Especially when your offense can’t put up points.

I was up until 2 am because of the Cuse shit, exchanging emails and texts. Thanksgiving in the office today though.

Why Mierda? You should be blaming the O-Line and Schottenheimer.

Weird game to watch. “Both teams played hard”. If you didn’t see the scoreboard, you would have thought Denver didn’t deserve to win (based on aesthetics – it wasn’t an elegant game).
But, dang, that Tebow never gives up. He obviously doesn’t listen to the chorus of us saying “that guy stinks, get him outta there!”
TBL, we missed ya last night. Woulda been fun getting your impressions in real time.
November 18th, 2011 at 8:04 AM
Davis didn’t come off as very believable in that interview. Which way are you leaning?
November 18th, 2011 at 8:05 AM
Improvisation? It looked to me like the DBs were bored and left the front 7 hanging out to dry. It also looked like the Jets overpursued their asses off in the 4th quarter.
Surely there is a good read-option coach out there (whose college season is about to end) that they can bring in as a consultant. The Broncos have to roll with this because it’s working, but goddamn if it isn’t an ugly mish-mash right now.
November 18th, 2011 at 8:07 AM
We can all agree that Sanchez is a ripe turd with zero confidence right now, but I still cannot understand why the Jets are just forcing the ball to Plaxico Burress so often. Your best two receivers are Holmes and Keller and Schottenheimer prefers to let his least favorable option get all the looks.
But holy cow is Sanchez bad. Like Matt Cassel bad.

The defense has been playing well for the Broncos, but they’ve also beat up on some terrible offenses and one QB’d by a literal walking piece of shit. I know what Lisk is trying to say, but if you watch Tebow and that offense, every single guy on the team is selling out 100% every single time. It would be easy to get frustrated at some point with the way things are going, but they never back down, on either side of the ball. That’s probably the most admirable thing about watching the Broncos play. Fucking Jets.

Living in Rochester, lots of friends from Cuse, some in law enforcement. I’m… not optimistic.

Not saying I know any secret or anything like that. It’s just a sense of things after taking the pulse of a lot of people.

Well, think of it this way: at least they’ll be allowed to play in the post-season unlike UConn

The local fans love that about this team. And, they didn’t sense it when Orton was on the field. This Bronco team may win ugly, but that’s better than what they had before.
Contrary to nationwide opinion, the locals know they will never get another John Elway. However, they are like fans all over. Given the choice, they would rather have scrappy overachievers & a chance to win than overpaid, unproductive layabouts (looking at the Redskins’ version of Albert Haynesworth).
November 18th, 2011 at 8:18 AM
How much reaction has there been to the fact that Elway looks absolutely pissed that his team won?

Locals are torn. They don’t think this style is sustainable long-term. It isn’t fun to watch, for sure. They worship at the altar of Elway, and trust his opinion over what they see with their own eyes.
However, they are winning now. They will gladly take that now, with a wary eye towards the fact that Elway and Fox are right.
This won’t last. It make take some time, but the rest of the league will catch up with this option stuff. Then, Tebow will struggle for 60 minutes, not just 54.
November 18th, 2011 at 8:42 AM
Sounds like loser talk right there. They beat us? Let’s dismiss it as smoke and mirrors!
November 18th, 2011 at 8:45 AM
Jets just suck. Plain and simple. This has nothing to do with Tebow being skilled.
November 18th, 2011 at 8:51 AM
I think fans of teams with actually quarterbacks think he’s a joke, while us fans who have to deal with mediocrity or worse (skins fan here) would do anything to have a guy like that behind center.
/waiting for all the complaints about too many Tebow posts
November 18th, 2011 at 10:12 AM
The biggest joke last night was not Teblow. It was the horrid defensive play call on 3rd-and-4 on Teblow’s TD run. An all-out blitz against a guy that can only hurt you with his legs? Whatever.
November 18th, 2011 at 10:18 AM
I am torn today as a Broncos fan. On one hand I am happy because we won, we’re 5-5 and after this weekend we’ll be tied for first. Also happy because my brother is a Jets fan.
On the other hand, this can’t continue forever. When they play good offenses, they won’t have this chance. He HAS to get more accurate. This gimmick won’t work too long. Remember the wildcat?

Nothing more enjoyable than watching Rex Ryan looking fat and out-smarted.
