Blue Jays Officially Unveil New Logo and Dashing Uniforms
We already knew the Blue Jays had plans of returning to their signature logo from the glory days, but today the team made it official. They even held a live press conference on MLB.com conducted by some PR dude with the audible magnetism of Ben Stein. Thankfully, the uniforms speak for themselves. A visit to Toronto’s homepage on MLB must bring quite the comforting visual for fans of the Jays.
And yes, the stirring opening line in the above video is “this is what I grew up knowing, this bird, this uniform.” Shit just got real.
All jokes aside, the AL East laundry is back to where it should be. Here’s a look at the uniform. Very clean and impeccably sharp, like Bill Cartwright’s elbows:

Touch ‘em all Joe! You’ll never hit a bigger home run in your life!
That’s what these uniforms remind me of. Love it.
November 18th, 2011 at 12:56 PM
Because this an MLB video, does that mean this actually happened three days ago but they’ve only now allowed it to be posted online?
November 18th, 2011 at 12:57 PM
I agree. Looks kinda crazy up close.

Mitch Williams’ hair was really something to behold back then. I’m not even sure that’s a mullet. Mullet doesn’t do it justice.

Classy and understated. Good call. Looking forward to seeing this on the field next year. All that is missing is Cito Gaston chillin’ in the dugout.
November 18th, 2011 at 1:04 PM
These jerseys are sweet.
November 18th, 2011 at 1:04 PM

The entire 1993 Phillies team should be studied by baseball fans for the fact that a bunch of drunk, roided out, totally un-PC guys managed to get to the WS. The stories of that teams’ drinking exploits are still Philly legends.
November 18th, 2011 at 1:08 PM
Juan Guzman, Al Leiter, Pat Hentgen, Jimmy Key and a svelt Boomer Wells on that ’91 Jays team. I think Tom Candiotti might have also been on that roster but I’m not sure. Not a bad collection of arms.

In a Children’s hospital. No patient contact though. Well, very little. We had our biggest fundraising event last weekend when I went to Athens with some of the guys here. In exchange for missing it, I have to dress up as Santa this year for the kids. December 22nd is going to be an interesting day. I am going to be walking around with 2 Blackhawks and a Bear so I expect them to do most of the heavy lifting.

Then Dykstra gave shitty financial advice to everyone and left, right?

Dykstra was taking shots with my dad and uncle from the story. Thankfully they didn’t listen to any financial advice if it was given.

yes.
November 18th, 2011 at 1:24 PM
Sportsgal, I have a mid-90s Expos cap, several Nationals caps and several Chargers caps. Don’t actually wear ‘em much.
Bought a Mariners cap once – navy blue with that compass rose on the front. Reminded me of celestial navigation…lol
November 18th, 2011 at 1:24 PM
Yeah. Can’t share though. I’ll let you guys know day of. I’ve worked with one of them before. The other two I haven’t. Well, one of them indirectly for a charity event that didn’t benefit my employer I did get a chance to work with the past two summers on a cancer fundraiser.

November 18th, 2011 at 1:25 PM
I also have an Expos hat. My hats are limited to Cubs, Blackhawks, Bears, Yankees, Expos, and Hawkeyes.
Other apparel there’s no limit though. I’ve got some Texas basketball shorts just because I liked the color.
November 18th, 2011 at 1:25 PM
Uh, yea. Will never ever sport a yankee or Sawx of any kind hat. Everything else is fair game. The yankee hat is just awful, I can’t stress that enough.
November 18th, 2011 at 1:26 PM
I don’t wear hats anymore, but I used to have a ton of fitted hats for logos that were awesome, like the Indians.
November 18th, 2011 at 1:27 PM
Agreed. It’s very busy and overall just a bit too horsie.
November 18th, 2011 at 1:27 PM
Do a lot of you guys buy ball caps of teams you don’t support because the hat is cool?
Yes. I still have somewhere a huge collection of MLB hats from the mid 90s. Though none of them fit me anymore. I’ve got the Cardinals home red hat, the Marlins original teal home hat, the Rockies, Mariners teal hat, Giants, Royals, Indians, Braves, Reds, Mets, and several different Astros hats are stashed away somewhere.

If Leviticus doesn’t count he’s cool with gays?
The Seven Deadly Sins are a creation of Saul of Tarsus, are they not? Cries out to heaven for vengeance? Isn’t that in the New Testament? I could be wrong on this but that’s how I remember it.

November 18th, 2011 at 1:45 PM
proud times in the 90s when those were popular among gang members
Today’s gangsters are too diverse in their coding. I like it when I see Rollin’ 60s members in L.A. sporting the O’s cap or Bloods from Watts wearing the Natinals but I think they might already have moved beyond those logos
November 18th, 2011 at 1:47 PM
I own a couple Packer hats from years back but they don’t really look good unless you’re wearing other Packer stuff and just serve as decoration…the Sox black is a universal look
