Fat girl for the Roundup? Shame.

“Unhappy panhandler punched man who ‘only’ gave him $2″
Sounds like a microcosm of the Occupy movement.

In 15 years:
Writer thinks Joe Quarterback will wind up being compared to someone named Mark Sanchez. Who is Mark Sanchez?
November 16th, 2011 at 8:31 AM
Well done good sir. Let’s go eat.
And it’s always a good way to start the day with some JLH.

i couldn’t sleep for a shit last night and i’m exhausted this AM. not going to be a happy camper today.

Houston Nutt has suspended his starting QB and leading rusher for the Rebels’ game against LSU Saturday
Looks like Nutt’s give-a-damn is busted. Much like his team is gonna be on Saturday.
November 16th, 2011 at 8:35 AM
First round pairings for The President’s Cup are out. Could be interesting. Or not.
November 16th, 2011 at 8:37 AM
Busted Nutt, tee-hee
November 16th, 2011 at 8:40 AM
Why is it roundup-worthy news that Heidi Watney is leaving NESN? Did she do something to get fired? Is there a reason why that is significant?
November 16th, 2011 at 8:41 AM
Fat girl for the Roundup? Shame.
1) She’s not fat.
2) If she showed any interest in you, you’d be all over her.
3) I have a thought on why Mr. Amendola allowing Sandusky to talk: the only defense he has is to grossly screw up his case that he’s let go. No one else will take the case and then he can’t get fair representation, thereby not allowing Sandusky to have a fair trial.
November 16th, 2011 at 8:43 AM
I am not saying Maher is on the right side of the argument, but he is far better mentally equipped for such an exchange than Hasselbeck.
November 16th, 2011 at 8:44 AM
Can’t believe those Anthony Davis highlights left out the blocks. Wow. It really is scary to think what that team will look like in March.
November 16th, 2011 at 8:44 AM
Writer thinks Mark Sanchez will wind up being compared to someone named Eric Hipple. Who is Eric Hipple?
Did you watch football before you were 20 years old?
November 16th, 2011 at 8:44 AM
1) there will always be an attorney looking for the publicity this case will bring
2) if there wasnt then he would get a public defender assigned to him
November 16th, 2011 at 8:45 AM
the decline of FM radio
Can be laid at the feet of mega-corp masters who’ve made every station in just about every city sound the same.
“Unhappy panhandler punched man who ‘only’ gave him $2″
Sounds like a microcosm of the Occupy movement.
And isn’t this the ultimate failure of the Occupy movement? Their message is lost in their inability to get people to see them as anything other than angry freeloaders or desperate hippies.
November 16th, 2011 at 8:45 AM
fuck yea…tiger/stricker vs. adam scott/kj is AWESOME.
November 16th, 2011 at 8:46 AM
You could tell Hasselbeck was itching for a fight and it made her look petty. Never good when you launch into an attack right away. Maher makes enough of an ass of himself on his own, just jump in then.
November 16th, 2011 at 8:46 AM
I’ve always disliked Boomer Esiason and he comes across as a jerk who finds it important to always remind people he was a “professional athlete.”
“You know, when I played in the NFL….”

Have you not see Heidi Watney? She’s gorgeous. My roommate is a Sox fan, I’m a Yanks, but when he’s watching NESN and she comes on screen it’s the only time I find NESN and anything to do with the Red Sox ok.
ESPN should swoop in and grab her.

Who’s capable of running with them? North Carolina is the only team that comes to mine. UK just ran Kansas off the floor for the first 10 mins of the second half.
November 16th, 2011 at 8:50 AM
I never get that impression when I listen to the morning show on 660 on the way into work, but perhaps it is true. All the QBs from that era seem like they are overly self-protective of their career, see: Marino, Dan.
November 16th, 2011 at 8:51 AM
Hipple drafted in the 4th round in 1980. i was 3. Hipple was a non-factor backup in the 80s who started a bunch of games every other year.

All of those Pearlman comps are terrible. Honestly, Sanchez – Hipple may be the best of them. Rodgers and Aikman? No. Freeman and DeBerg? Other than both have worn an orange creamsicle uniform? Freeman is younger now than DeBerg was when he threw his first NFL pass.

Thinking about this when someone said yesterday that PSU hopes Sandusky kills himself: they all better hope Sandusky lives and goes to trial and gets the sentence he deserves. If he doesn’t see the inside of a courtroom, people will shift that unanswered anger towards PSU.

exactly. draft position is the worst argument you could have possibly made. Peyton Manning was drafted first overall, Tom Brady was drafted 199. Why do people compare them?

Have a clear agenda of what you’re protesting about and what you would like to have done about it. It’s the idiotic fringe groups demanding everything for free while doing nothing in return that muddles the message.
There’s a reason Churchill said, and I’m paraphrasing here – if you’re in your 20s and are not a liberal you don’t have a heart. If you’re in your 30s and not a conservative, you don’t have a brain.
I’m not saying all of these people are stupid, but get it together and decide what you want to do.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:08 AM
Goosen and Allenby together? Who’s going to make a putt? I wouldn’t concede anything outside of 6 inches to those 2.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:08 AM
Bad loss? I suppose. Unexpected? No. LSU and South Carolina, who lost to Elon last nite, are both horrendous SEC basketball teams, and if you combined the two, I’m fairly certain that they still wouldn’t be competitive in the SEC this year. Trent Johnson & Darrin Horn have a lot in common — great 1st years, but they are both now in their 4th years, and the respective programs are in far worse shape than they were found.
To summarize…Coastal Carolina is a better team than LSU, and, sadly, Elon is a better team than South Carolina.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:09 AM

November 16th, 2011 at 9:10 AM
was thinking the same thing last night. they’ve both been playing shitty lately too.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:10 AM
Disagree. If he kills himself, people will know he was guilty and assign blame mostly to him. If it goes to court, every single detail and conversation will come out, and I think people will have more to be angry at PSU about. PSU needs Sandusky to jump on this grenade, since he is the one that threw it in the first place.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:11 AM

Experts in estate planning and tax law, in interviews, cautioned that it would be hard to determine the Paternos’ motivation simply from the available documents. It appears the family house had been the subject of years of complex and confusing transactions.
Lawrence A. Frolik, a law professor at the University of Pittsburgh who specializes in elder law, said that he had “never heard” of a husband selling his share of a house for $1 to his spouse for tax or government assistance purposes.
“I can’t see any tax advantages,” Frolik said. “If someone told me that, my reaction would be, ‘Are they hoping to shield assets in case if there’s personal liability?’ ” He added, “It sounds like an attempt to avoid personal liability in having assets in his wife’s name.”
November 16th, 2011 at 9:29 AM
Hasselbeck is all sorts of hot, but good god she’s a dumbass.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:29 AM
The only reason why John Brady looks better than Trent Johnson was that Big Baby, Tyrus Thomas, Brandon Bass, and Garrett Temple grew up down the street from LSU, and Temple’s dad (a big power broker in BR) delivered them to us..
November 16th, 2011 at 9:29 AM
I know right? I love when he gets the “1 min. until a break signal” which is his opportunity to pontificate on some subject for much too long. He is not one of our great thinkers or oraters, but sometimes he seems to think he is. Overall an okay guy, but just needs to settle down on how much he thinks his opinion is worth.

I know we transferred my grandfather’s house out of his name for $1 when he was transferred to a Vet. Admin. home. The reason was that the government came back for any owed money for his care on the estate, and it allowed us to keep the house in the family (provided the transfer occurred a certain number of years/weeks before his death).

//have no idea if she’s truly an idiot.

Can you give us an initial review tomorrow? I’m trying to decide between the Kindle Fire and the new Nook since Nook would be compatible with multiple e-reader services.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:44 AM
He made a guest appearance on an episode of Home Improvement. Tim said he didn’t recognize him because he wasn’t lying flat on his back. So true.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:46 AM
listenng to arington;s rant right now. he used ‘literally’ wrong, unless the PSU campus is in fact now rubble
November 16th, 2011 at 9:46 AM
What do you actually gain from that? The whole point of the device is the Amazon UI, right, not the Android UI?
November 16th, 2011 at 9:46 AM
She says a ton of dumb shit. She’s a walking stereotype as far as (hot) dumb blondes go.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:46 AM
I think it already happens plenty.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:47 AM
I thought they used to list him as living in the Woodlands (near Houston)?
November 16th, 2011 at 9:48 AM
She’s not an idiot. I disagree with her viewpoint almost all of the time when it’s policy and/or politics, but the fact that she’s constantly surrounded by people who disagree with her gets her a little bit more on edge and emotional every year, it seems. I can sort of understand that, even if it means they could find someone better.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:48 AM
I will try. Likely I’ll be better suited to give feedback on Friday. But I’ll keep everyone abreast.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:49 AM
maybe, but Brady isn’t a terrible coach. I think the book is still out on Johnson, but Brady is doing pretty well at Arkansas State right now, FWIW.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:49 AM
the NFC “Central’s” old rag doll. along with Chuck Long.
false
November 16th, 2011 at 9:49 AM
Believe he did, but now he has a palace out at Vaquero in Westlake. Out where Haney, Feherty, Sabbatini, and Romo live.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:49 AM
please do, I am probably getting one for my gf for christmas.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:50 AM
Dan Cleary is the worst top 6 forward in the NHL.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:50 AM
From what I understand it’ll open up the entirety of the Android marketplace instead of the (for now) castrated version only available to Fire.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:50 AM
Young Landeskog has to be better than that.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:50 AM
Found out KJ lives 5 miles from me here in the Ft Worth ‘burbs. That’s cool.
I thought they used to list him as living in the Woodlands (near Houston)?
think he is in southlake
November 16th, 2011 at 9:52 AM
i thought it was, “everyone is liberal until they get a job and start making money.”
November 16th, 2011 at 9:53 AM
I don’t think he can use redshirt if he plays. the reasoning that I have heard is that he will test the NFL after next year anyways, so might as well play him now, which makes sense if he is planning on going out after next year anyways. I like it.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:53 AM
Oh, I see. I don’t think you’ll have to go to the latest Android rev to do that, but I could be wrong. Either way, I’ll be interested to hear whether and how many of the generally available apps that are not designed for a tablet are usable (not in the “it works” sense, in the “I enjoy it” one).
November 16th, 2011 at 9:54 AM
Doesn’t apply to everyone.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:54 AM
hell yeah man, turn that shit up.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:55 AM
So is YE Yang
November 16th, 2011 at 9:55 AM
The whole point of the device is the Amazon UI, right, not the Android UI?
The problem that I’ve heard is the Silk browser is unresponsive and slow but at $200 not a deal breaker unless you want to watch live sports on the thing.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:57 AM
Yeah, I’ve seen it in action, and the videos over at Engadget are good. I’m going to get one. “Slow” in comparison to the iPad is not actually slow enough to be unusable. And I suspect software updates will make it snappier, hardware is not the issue.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:59 AM
I believe him coming back for games late in the season FROM injury would negate the opportunity to medical redshirt him.
It’s a bad situaiton to let him play. Miami did the same thing with Graig Cooper and it seriously fucked his pro career.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:59 AM
Writer thinks Mark Sanchez will wind up being compared to someone named Eric Hipple. Who is Eric Hipple?
the NFC “Central’s” old rag doll. along with Chuck Long.
I remember both of those guys as really good reasons to trade for Scott Mitchell, after that one good season in Miami.
November 16th, 2011 at 9:59 AM
Duchene’s goal was pretty. Nice hands. He managed not to dance afterwards which was a bonus.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:00 AM
Urinal Mint/SG, I apologize in advance for my ignorance, but is the only place you can get a kindle on amazon? are there cheaper places to go out there and get one or is amazon it? and I guess the fire is the newest/best one out there?
November 16th, 2011 at 10:00 AM
I’ll let everyone know how it handles Redtube and Motherless later this week.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:02 AM
Oh but she is. She’s an idiot of epic proportion.
Fiscally conservative is one thing. All out conservative is another.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:02 AM
I apologize in advance for my ignorance
how long is this apology valid? 3 ignorances?
November 16th, 2011 at 10:02 AM
Trust me, LSU fans are way more pissed over giving up a TD to W. Kentucky last week than anything the hoops team does.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:03 AM
Amazon is the only place to get a Fire, and right now you won’t go below $199 for it. If you’re looking for a plain old e-ink Kindle reader, you can get those at Target, Best Buy, & Walmart aside from Amazon.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:03 AM
did Cooper end up getting more seriously hurt? I heard Knile is the one that has been pushing to come back. I’m stoked about it (obviously) but I would hate to see him get more seriously hurt.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:05 AM
good jeebus…the hell are redtube and motherless? am I so far behind on the tablet bandwagon that these are apps or software?
November 16th, 2011 at 10:05 AM
…you just made that up.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:06 AM
yeah, good point.
but who do you vote for if you’re socially liberally but fiscally conservative? at this juncture, the country needs fiscal leadership more, I’d say. (and no, I’m not saying that means the Republicans are the answer.)
November 16th, 2011 at 10:06 AM
Cooper blew out his knee on the smushsmortion of a field in Orlando for the Champs Sports Bowl, remember LSU and PSU tore it up a few days earlier. He truly needed more time to recover and had a year of eligibility left, but Cooper pushed to rehab and come back. Randy SHannon unfortunately let him play but he didn’t start and was the 3rd RB. He never got to show what he could do and was not back at full speed yet. I don’t even think he got drafted, he got picked up as a FA. If he had just waited an extra year he would have been a top 3 round pick, he had quicks like Chris JOhnson.

Theoretically a Libertarian
November 16th, 2011 at 10:08 AM
Only way you’re cutting the debt is by raising taxes and cutting spending, esp. defense spending.

So Ron Paul without the crazy

Apparently a write-in for phillymantis915
November 16th, 2011 at 10:12 AM
What does fiscal leadership mean?
November 16th, 2011 at 10:12 AM
Cleet, that sounds more like a product of that swamp they played on rather than the condition of the knee, but I see your point.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:14 AM
999? Which would absolutely devesitate the majority of Americans?
November 16th, 2011 at 10:14 AM
What does fiscal leadership mean?
are you liberal or conservative? (that’s theoretical, since I already know about your jerked knee, and your bleeding heart).
Because if you’re liberal, it means keep digging the hole, but try to go sideways. If you’re conservative, it means starve out all the poorest people and let the next poorest people bury them, but don’t pay them to do it.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:14 AM
Fiscally conservative as in deregulation and tax cuts?
That’s been going fairly poorly recently especially in the derivative market. No one has ever been able to comprehensively explain to me how a deregulated market naturally polices itself in it’s own best interest.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:15 AM
We elect an anthropomorphic $50 bill.

FREEDOM
November 16th, 2011 at 10:16 AM
999?
999…../looks at ceiling
999…../holds head in hands
we’re talking about the 999 that is the plan of that one guy, herman something, right?…./looks back at ceiling
I have a much better plan than that. I can’t currently give you the details, but mine is way better.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:17 AM
i know redtube! but am afraid of something called motherless
what is that?
November 16th, 2011 at 10:18 AM
huh. Interesting problem with the Nook Tablet: http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/16/nook-tablet-limits-internal-storage-for-non-bandn-purchased-conten/
Crazy a company not acting in their best interest that’s unpossible!
People will unlock that thing so fast.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:18 AM
I’m voting the same way I had to vote for the Illinois govenor: Trying to determine the lesser of two bad choices. In other words Obama.
After watching 60 Minutes the last two weeks I’m ready to have a massive overhaul of Congress and the Senate. It’s honestly the only way we’ll ever see any sort of change in our lifetime.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:20 AM
look at SG getting all educated on the candidates and Congress and Senate.
/waits for someone to make 60 Minutes-Liberal comment …
November 16th, 2011 at 10:22 AM
Muppet Tournament. Do you civic duty and vote, people.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:24 AM
Don’t hold your breath. This country is screwed because of its politics, and there is 0% chance anything is changing.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:25 AM
You should totally join the OWS movement.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:25 AM
Be nice if you could, you know, vote on them
November 16th, 2011 at 10:30 AM
The swamp blew out the knee. He just came back too quick and in a spot where he wouldn’t be high on the depth chart. My point is what does Davis really have to gain by coming back? SHowing he can run? He can do that on pro workout days and the combine. But ultimately if he gets the go-ahead from the doctors he is going to want to play.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:34 AM
that’s a good point. my thinking is that he has seen the running game this year and thinks he can help it out by coming back, maybe giving them a better chance against LSU? I really don’t know though. if he really does think he is going to the NFL and his ankle isn’t ready I wouldn’t see why he would think it is in his best interest to come back.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:44 AM
I do….it’s a brilliant move on the lawyer’s part. He’s building the case that his client is INSANE. What better way than to have this guy pop off about the horrific events and his feelings towards young boys? To everyone else, Sandusky talks & looks crazy. What a brilliant move by his lawyer to build his case for insanity.
November 16th, 2011 at 10:45 AM
Sorry but I have a job and a family, and I don’t want others to pay for things that I need or want. So I guess that eliminates me…
November 16th, 2011 at 11:00 AM
Vote Jersey-HeldOver 2012.
