There’s no other way around it, some of the moves Belichick has made in the past couple years regarding personnel has not paid off. Not having a playmaking passrusher, not having a downfield receiver, cutting experienced defensive backs, Patrick Fucking Chung. It’s all catching up to them. Will be interesting to see where they go from here but the loss yesterday is going to hurt them down the road.

Well, they made plenty of stops, except on those final 2 drives. Especially when Chung, Spikes, and Guyton went out. Their replacements are the ones who gave up the 2 biggest plays, the PI and game winning TD. I wonder if we’ll ever see this year both the offense and the defense playing at full strength and at their best, it would be a thing of beauty.

Yeah, great drive by the Giants. Amazing catch by Ballard, and a pretty fortunate PI call. The Pats also had a former Eagles ST linebacker (Tracy White) who they happily let go covering Ballard that whole drive. The Pats are in rough shape.

Sorry for the length of this quote – but this is the most damning part of the whole PSU thing for me (as it relates to Curley and the police).
What McQueary described is similar to an incident that had been reported four years earlier to Penn State police.
In that case, Sandusky was cleared after two boys alleged Sandusky had washed their bodies in a shower in the Penn State football locker room.
In the 1998 case, police had the mother of one of the victims confront Sandusky in her home. The presentment says he admitted taking the shower with her son and admitted it was wrong.
“I understand. I was wrong. I wish I could get forgiveness. I know I won’t get it from you. I wish I were dead,” Sandusky said, according to the grand-jury report.
Then-Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar decided against pressing charges. The mother of that victim said she felt there were a few people trying to help her son and many people who were not. When informed of the charges Friday by The Patriot-News, she said: “I just got goosebumps, seriously. I just lived with this for so long, and it killed me when people talked about him like he was a god and I knew he was a monster.”
It’s unclear if the police would have been able to re-investigate that report if they had been informed about the second similar incident witnessed by McQueary in 2002. State law requires that reports of abuse labeled “unfounded,” as the 1998 report was, have to be expunged one year and four months after the investigation closes.
When he testified before the grand jury, Schultz acknowledged that the cases were similar. Both happened in the locker room of the Lasch Building, where the football offices are. And both involved young boys.
Instead of letting Gricar make the call, Curley and Schultz asked Sandusky to stop bringing Second Mile kids into the locker room. It’s a ban that Curley admitted was “unenforceable,” the jurors wrote.
As part of the terms of his retirement agreement, sources say Penn State agreed that Sandusky would keep an office on campus and maintain a key to the football locker room in the Lasch Building. Spanier was notified and signed off on this “ban,” and Second Mile President Jack Raykovitz was told. No one ever tried to identify the child. Spanier denies knowing about the 1998 report, which had been a six-week investigation by police, county prosecutors and the CYS. It’s not clear if anyone told Raykovitz.
Then there is Sandusky’s dickhead attorney:
“Part of the problem is that he was dealing with at-risk kids who came from dysfunctional families and a lot of kids say things that aren’t necessarily true,” Amendola said. “Jerry has maintained his innocence, and I am giving him the benefit of the doubt.”

there was massive holding, on several occasions the d-lineman’s pads popped out over the jerseys becuase the giants were holding them back by the jerseys as they went to chase down eli.
holding and defensive contact are the two plays that are sooooo inconsistantly called in every game, for every team.

It doesn’t hurt to have AJ Green but he’s making names out of Jerome Simpson and Jermaine Gresham.
Jerome Simpson is awesome. And Gresham was a first round pick who has so far been unimpressive but definitely has the pedigree. He’s missed the last two games with injury.

I just think it’s odd that 10 year old boys would be there in the first place. Moreover, wouldn’t these kids being around seem strange to others?

Sandusky was heavily involved in an organization that helped foster kids (so disgusting to look back on in hindsight) so I’m guessing others would view the visits as him thinking it would be cool to show the kids the stadium and such

Not quite – I understand he started telling JoePa the whole story and Joe cut him off and said we need to get other people involved. It’s not that he held back information from JoePa – in fact McQuery’s testimony is understood to be the most detailed.
McQuery will be fine IMHO.

Hell on Wheels has a cool and unique concept. The main character looks the part of the gunslinging, nothing-to-lose guy. I had no idea the black dude was Common. I liked parts of it and will check it out next week.

As for the Oklahoma quake … I was at Winstar on Saturday, and the only time I felt the building shake was when Alleman hit that FG in OT. It seemed like everyone turned away from the slots, with half the crowd glued to the Okie State-K State game and the other half glued to LSU-Bammer.
