Thursday Night Football: Florida State vs. Boston College
Florida State and Boston College, two of college football’s most disappointing teams. The Seminoles began the season around the top five, with expectations enhanced by a great recruiting class and a large number of returning starters. They then got hit with injuries, lost to Oklahoma and were bounced with consecutive 35-30 losses on the road by Clemson and Wake Forest. Florida State is 4-3 in FBS play and the four teams they have beaten – ULM, Duke, Maryland and North Carolina State – are absolutely terrible.
Fortunately for Florida State, Boston College falls into the terrible category. The Eagles beat Maryland 28-17 on the road last week. That was their first FBS win of the season. Previous lowlights included losing to Duke at home and getting pantsed 30-3 by a not so great UCF team. However, they are still alive for a postseason birth!
Historical: BC has won three of teams’ last five meetings. Since the two became conference opponents in 2005, the largest MOV has been 11 points. No team has scored more than 28 or less than 17.
Matchup: Florida State has the nation’s second best run defense, bested only by Alabama. This should place the game in the hands of BC’s fearsome 110th ranked passing attack. FSU also has a top-fifteen offense, with EJ Manuel back, going against a fairly average defense.
Prediction: Everything lines up for Florida State, except for it being a cold night game at Boston College. 14.5 is a large number of points. Normally would go for BC here, but they are too awful to pick. I’ll go 34-13 FSU.

Not this level of stinkitude…normally a solid 7-win bowl team.

you’re right. I just looked at where sportingnews had them preseason and it was low-40′s…that’s probably right around 7 wins.

For that to happen we need a few of the old crew to be unbanned and a few to ignore what made them stop coming to this place..and the new kids to shut the fuck up and see how we put on a TBLAD…
Mrejr
Agree with all of this. Especially the part about the old timers that got their vaginas hurt. I get they like Twitter and dislike TBL, but 140 characters after dark does not do justice. And TBL obviously didn’t ban most of them since they pop in every now and again. Like Bsanders today. I miss that guy. And Tags, Sparty, Fetch, Irish, etc… Those were the good old days.

God is punishing ESPN for keeping Craig James around by subjecting them with all these horrible Thursday night games
