On Wednesday, Perry Hall High School’s boys soccer team won their playoff game against Dulaney High on a last-minute goal. To celebrate their thrilling victory, the team did the Bernie dance from Weekend at Bernie’s II. Since it’s 2011, the following idiocy ensued. From Patch.com:

Parents of Dulaney students complained about the dance, calling it “sexually suggestive,” Roberts said.

He and athletic director Bob Hruz then conducted an investigation, speaking to a select group of coaches, players and parents from both schools. By 3 p.m. Wednesday, they had decided to cancel the team’s season, Roberts said.

Did you catch that? The AD and principal caved to a couple butthurt parents and cancelled the season. Disgusting. There was a protest this morning, but I’m sure that won’t matter. I’m sorry if I lack a more artful way to relay my feelings about this story, but this is soooooo stupid.
