Everyone is Getting Their Tim Tebow Hate Out of Their System
Why do so many people want Tim Tebow to fail? Why are so many people giddy about bashing a QB who just made his fifth career NFL start?
You guys are aware that Tim Tebow doesn’t have a wide receiver, running back or offensive lineman who would rank in the Top 20 in the league at their position, right? Tebow is surrounded by ineptitude. There’s a reason Kyle Orton went 6-19 before getting pulled for Tebow.
Yes, Tebow is holding the ball far too long (sacked 13 times in two games). Yes, Tebow isn’t very accurate (under 50 percent completions in his two starts this year). Against Detroit, a fumble of his was returned for a TD. An interception, too. He looked … like a QB playing his 5th NFL game.
Just for good measure, Tebow’s also working with a new head coach and a new offensive coordinator and in a new offensive scheme. Kyle Orton wasn’t exactly killin’ it earlier this year, but he never caught this kind of heat.
Mark Kiszla of the Denver Post, who knows a harshly worded column will get him half a dozen radio interviews or TV spots today, writes:
Tebow might be a spectacular physical specimen, but he is not an NFL quarterback.
Detroit did more than make Tebow appear as if he might need a position change to stick in the NFL.
Those five minutes of wonder against Miami now look like an aberration. Right here, right now, Tebow is the worst quarterback in the NFL.
I went in looked at Kiszla’s column history. Last week he wrote this about Tebow:
With only a single NFL victory on his resume, Tebow has done the impossible. Right here, right now, he is bigger in Denver than John Elway.
In late September, Kiszla wrote this:
It’s not only possible to employ Tebow in the offense without benching Orton as the starter; it’s imperative to let Tebow play a role to invigorate the offense before Orton gets run out of town.
It’s too early to make Tebow the starting quarterback.
All we’re saying is: A bad team needs its best talent on the field. To help the Broncos win, here’s betting Tebow would do anything, large or small, whether that’s running option in the red zone, throwing a block during the second quarter or dashing to pick up the tee after the opening kickoff. Give him a chance.
As the wind blows, Kiszla changes his mind. Gotta respect a columnist like that.
The Detroit Lions, a team hell bent on taking the trash-talking title away from the Jets, trashed Tebow (anonymously) to Mike Silver of Yahoo:
“Can you believe ’15’?” one Detroit Lions defender asked after his team’s 45-10 immolation of Tebow and the Denver Broncos. “Come on – that’s embarrassing. I mean, it’s a joke. We knew all week that if we brought any kind of defensive pressure, he couldn’t do anything. In the second half it got boring out there. We were like, ‘Come on – that’s your quarterback? Seriously?’ ”
I’ll repeat: Five career starts. Some teams will figure our Tebow quickly. Tebow will then make adjustments. It’s a process. Tebow had more talent around him at Florida than he has now. I’m rooting for him to succeed – I’m on record as saying he’ll have similar up-and-down success to Vince Young in Tennessee (read it all before flipping out) – and I think he’ll get a win in Oakland next weekend.

Ryan Clady is pretty good.
October 31st, 2011 at 1:53 PM
What happened to Ryan Clady? He was a stud LT a couple years ago. Did he fall off the map?
October 31st, 2011 at 1:53 PM
Damn you Vlad…
October 31st, 2011 at 1:54 PM
he didn’t do that yesterday.
October 31st, 2011 at 1:54 PM
You think Sanchez is a top 5 QB. Sorry TBL but your judgment of NFL QB talent isn’t very good.
October 31st, 2011 at 1:55 PM
Why are so many people giddy about bashing a QB who just made his fifth career NFL start?
Because he’s been horrible in all five starts? And people have been pointing out for years that his college skill and throwing motion may not translate into the NFL?
October 31st, 2011 at 1:55 PM
So what you’re saying is, they should go back to focusing their hate on Sanchez?
October 31st, 2011 at 1:56 PM
More talent compared to the opposition…not straight up. That would be absurd.
October 31st, 2011 at 1:56 PM
I do? that’s news to me.
Anyway, so back to Tebow …
October 31st, 2011 at 1:56 PM
Why do so many people want Tim Tebow to fail?
A wide variety of reasons: He was super successful in college, he is religious — but alot of athletes are religious but he comes across differently, he isn’t a “traditional” quarterback, his personality seems so geniune that people perceive it not organic, in his small sample size he has not been effective.

I am not by any means a talent scout for the NFL, but I know a bad throwing motion when I see one and Tebow has the worst. It is so slow and deliberate that it doesn’t matter if he makes “adjustments” the DB’s will adjust quicker.
October 31st, 2011 at 1:57 PM
You’ve been pretty angry today.
Meanwhile if you watched the game (I did, at least the second half) Tebow looked absolutely terrible. He kept overthrowing everyone, and that TD he had was a screen where the receiver did all the work…but the announcers blew Tebow for yet another ten minutes over it.
That’s the problem: The media fucking loves this guy, hypes him up until there’s no way he can live up to it all, professionally. Sure, he appears to be a great guy and a role model, but if the guy sucks at football THEN STOP FUCKING TALKING ABOUT HIM.
Aaron Maybin sucks at football. David Carr is pretty bad. Countless others are just not good at football. We’re not talking about them nonstop, are we?
October 31st, 2011 at 1:57 PM
I just want people to stop debating whether or not he’s going to make it as a QB in the NFL. Actually, I’d prefer it if the media would just stop talking about him all together.
October 31st, 2011 at 1:59 PM
If you click on the link and read the whole story, you’ll find that
The sentence preceding that one was this:
Context. Tebow is bigger than Elway marketing wise. It doesn’t mean Kiszla thinks he’s a good quarterback.
October 31st, 2011 at 1:59 PM
I do? that’s news to me.
Anyway, so back to Tebow …
Ok, back to Tebow then. He sucks as much as Sanchez does, if not more.
October 31st, 2011 at 1:59 PM
That game could have been much worse. Lions secondary dropped a couple picks and the offense was merciful in the 4th quarter. The Broncos did get hosed on that opening drive though. That’s a TD.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:00 PM
I have a completely original thought on this:
A wide variety of reasons: He was super successful in college, he is religious — but alot of athletes are religious but he comes across differently, he isn’t a “traditional” quarterback, his personality seems so geniune that people perceive it not organic, in his small sample size he has not been effective.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:00 PM
btw, elway’s face as he ages, is a wonder of droopy delight
/stay off HD, helicopter jones
October 31st, 2011 at 2:00 PM
I will go record with this: Tim Tebow will never win another game as a starting QB in the NFL (with the possible exception of an end-of-season game against a team that is sitting players).
October 31st, 2011 at 2:01 PM
Conversely, why do so many people get so pissed at this? Why can’t people just dislike him(plus, I hate the Gators)? People hate Philip Rivers, Tom Brady, etc.. Someone said before he is the Danica Patrick of football. My step-son hates Cam Newton with a passion. Why? No reason.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:01 PM
Yeah, no where in the clips TBL provided does he contradict himself. He said that TBL should play a role in the offense, and even says as a non-QB.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:01 PM
This was the most false sentence in a post littered with Tebow-like inaccuracies.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:01 PM
If only Ryan Leaf had quoted scripture instead of cussing out reporters in the locker room, would have had a lot more defenders during his playing days
So are Christian Ponder, Andy Dalton and Cam Newton…but those guys also have the benefit of being talented enough to be NFL quarterbacks
October 31st, 2011 at 2:02 PM
Kiszla’s column on Tebow after yesterday’s game was pretty spot on. Just read the whole thing. Tebow is a brand. I like Tim Tebow, want him to succeed like you do, but realize that his shortcomings and limitations will more likely than not see him fail in the NFL as a quarterback.
It is what it is. Tebow is to sports writers what Erin Andrews was to bloggers about 2 years ago. Clicks.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:02 PM
Tebow is better than Denard Robinson. But not by that much.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:02 PM
If only Ryan Leaf had quoted scripture instead of cussing out reporters
One of the best quotes ever….”KNOCK IT OFF!”
October 31st, 2011 at 2:02 PM
And you’re right, he doesn’t have a lot of talent around him. That team will stink whether him, Quinn or Orton starts. However they’re not playing him because Orton was so bad and Tebow was so good, they wanted to see what they had. It’s not their fault the previous regime wasted a #1 pick on him when they had needs everywhere else. He’s just a marketing/media machine.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:03 PM
Listened to the Broncos broadcast of the game on Sirius yesterday. They said their fans were booing Tebow.
The fans who screamed the loudest are now off the bandwagon. These are the people who deserve the scorn. Not the common-sense fans who saw this coming a mile away.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:03 PM
Ryan Clady and Chris Kuper both fit this bill. Broncos have been able to run fairly effectively, actually. Just can’t hold pass blocking for, oh, the 14 seconds you need to give Tim time enough to scan the field.
The problem is accuracy and reading the D. He’s just not good enough at throwing the football. This, generally speaking, is a thing that QBs either have or don’t. He doesn’t. It’s going to be tough for him to ever be better than this. He misses wide-open screens, for God’s sake.
Also, offensive coordinator was here last year with McDaniels. Didn’t call plays, but largely kept the offense intact.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:03 PM
Right here, right now, Tebow is the worst quarterback in the NFL.
Right here, right now, he is bigger in Denver than John Elway.
Someone’s been playing Jesus Jones a lot the last few weeks.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:03 PM
Because even more people want him to succeed, when at this point in his career, he should just not be talked about.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:03 PM
nice guys finish last
October 31st, 2011 at 2:03 PM
This.
He’s wildly inaccurate, has an awful throwing motion, and can’t read defenses to save his life. Those are three very important aspects to being a quarterback that have little or nothing to do with those around him and he is awful at all three.
Also, Ryan Clady is, without a doubt, well inside the top-20 at LT. Probably top-10 and maybe top-5.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:04 PM
I’m pretty sure they were yelling, “Suuuuuuuuuuuuh.”
October 31st, 2011 at 2:04 PM
Cam Newton is a great example.
I had my doubts. Considered his week 1 a fluke, and week 2 some luck. But if you watched him all year, you could see the kid is legit (and seemingly genuine like Tebow). I flipped. I am not a fan of Cam, and enjoy watching him play.
Tebow isn’t there yet, and based on his body of work, he never will be.
I don’t root for him, and root against him twice a year. He’s just not a good QB.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:05 PM
Make him the RB. God knows Moreno is terrible.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:05 PM
And also: TBL, you allowed yourself to be trolled by Bayless-Lite, Mark Kiszla? Dewd.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:05 PM
But since it’s Denver, soaring to new heights is quickly followed by crashing back to Earth.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:05 PM
The problem I have with the guy is that his ego is getting in the way of his success. He could probably have been moved to TE and had a year of development under his belt, but now he is going to flame out as a QB and unless he agrees to move to a new position be out of football by ’13.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:05 PM
Apparently, Stephen Tulloch is getting grief for his “Tebowing” sack celebration.
https://twitter.com/#!/stephentulloch/status/131052803522183169
October 31st, 2011 at 2:05 PM
I don’t want him to fail; I’m just sick hearing about him. He has had some unrealistic expectations placed on him. His ability didn’t warrant a first round pick and since he was a first round pick, Denver was forced to start him when he clearly wasn’t ready. He should have sat on the bench for a couple of years, learned an NFL system and changed his mechanics. Denver is pretty much stuck with him now.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:05 PM
and I think he’ll get a win in Oakland next weekend.
If Oakland just runs the ball and punts every third and long they’ll win easily.
/picks up Raiders D in fantasy
October 31st, 2011 at 2:06 PM
TBL signed with the Broncos? — Nice!
October 31st, 2011 at 2:06 PM
Yup.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:06 PM
I don’t see how Kiszla contradicts himself anywhere here.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:06 PM
Also, I think a lot of people that want to see him fail were the ones nauseated at the undue praise he received for accomplishing zero in the pro gram.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:07 PM
Is there an example of a QB who had bad mechanics coming out of college, but was able to fix them and have a successful career? I don’t think Tebow just needs to “make adjustments”. He can get better at making presnap reads so he knows where he is going before the snap (ala B. Leftwich), but his long release combined with his inaccuracy will always keep his ceiling really low.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:08 PM
i didn’t know he was a Bayless acolyte. thanks for the update.

as a point of comparison, the rapey terrible POS that plays QB for the Steelers was 21/25, 193, 2,0 in his 5th NFL game.
/remember, the Steelers only won 6 games the year before.

October 31st, 2011 at 2:09 PM
Right now Tebow is a national icon for less reasons than Kim Kardashian. Honestly, if your life depended on it and you had to pick between Tebow and Tarvaris Jackson (who is just as religious) to quarterback a team to a win, who would you take?

A 1982 Chevy Citation goes zero to sixty faster than Tebow gets rid of the ball. Yesterday was the first game I really saw him throw more than 10 times. It’s so awkward. It’s like he’s reaching to scratch his lower back in his windup and doesn’t release the ball until it’s too late. It’s a really funky motion. I’m not sure how I never noticed it at Florida.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:11 PM
You forgot Chrysler hater.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:11 PM
It’s a really funky motion. I’m not sure how I never noticed it at Florida.
That’s because it is new. They made “adjustments” because in Florida he was throwing sidearm.

Laying my nut sack on your drum set > Watching Tim Tebow play QB.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:11 PM
T-Jack. He actually had a few nice throws yesterday and puts some decent zip on the ball. Still inaccurate most of the time, but I’d take him over Tebow. He’s probably faster than Timmy as well.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:11 PM
Really? We gotta Matt Millen apologist here.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:12 PM
Cam Newton adn Andy Dalton are doing fine.
Tebow sucks. Accept it. Don’t be stupid.

T-Joke and this is coming from a Vikings fan. Jackson is bad, but sometimes he can put a nice drive together. The only nice drive you will get out of Tebow is when he is riding shotgun and you are going to a church social.

Also, no. His deficiencies go waaaay beyond rookie/experience issues. He is fundamentally flawed. If he has a ton of experience, maybe he moves up from 32nd best QB to mid 20s.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:15 PM
I was still saying that after he won his first Super Bowl.
/Tebow still would be a decent H-Back though.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:15 PM
Again, many (including myself) don’t hate him and want him to fail. We hate how the Tim Tebow Fan Club has hijacked the sports newscasts and turned him into the top story.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:16 PM
No but that was mostly residual Rose Bowl bitterness
October 31st, 2011 at 2:17 PM
I’m still with Spencer on Tebow’s position change. Put him at linebacker. He’s got the build. It’d be easier to learn that than how to put his hand on the ground and be a TE.

This. Also, at least Orton was close on throws and has previous success at completing passes. The majority of Tebow’s throws are nowhere near any of his receivers.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:19 PM
And Christian Ponder, and hell, even Blaine Gabbert. And they’re an entire year behind.
I don’t care if Tebow succeeds or fails, good for him if he does, mazel tov. But right now he’s very far behind. Once he catches up, fine, devote hour news segments to his every thought, but this should not be happening right now.

This. Why is whether or not Tebow is successful in Denver any more of a story than rather Dalton is successful in Cincy, Kolb is successful in Arizona, or any other middling quarterback not named Brady, Roethlisberger, Schaub, is successful on his team in his market?
Rivers and the issues he’s been having in San Diego and Chris Johnson’s struggles in Tennessee are much, much more important stories as both of those teams are still, somehow, in their respective division races.

Typical Florida Gators Tebow drive:
1. Screen Pass to Harvin 30 yard gain
2. Runs around in the pocket heaves it up double covered Riley Cooper who out jumps the coverage.
3. Shovel pass to Hernadez who breaks a dozen tackles to the one yard line
4. Teabow scores a one yard touchdown run

Oh, and there should be more discussion of actual football news rather than Teblows and his inability to read a defense or throw a football accurately.

Chris Johnson’s struggles in Tennessee are much, much more important stories as both of those teams are still, somehow, in their respective division races.
I haven’t really actively looked for them, but outside the Fantasy Football circles, nobody is really talking about how badly Chris Johnson is doing.

2. Runs around in the pocket heaves it up double covered Riley Cooper who out jumps the coverage and commits offensive pass interference which doesn’t get called.

Can you put Carson Palmer on the list of QBs not to talk about? That would be great.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:23 PM
I haven’t really actively looked for them, but outside the Fantasy Football circles, nobody is really talking about how badly Chris Johnson is doing.
It was talked about on here last week and not just in fantasy. It’s a story because their offense is one dimensional right now and yet is still plugging along.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:23 PM
Also, fuck Josh McDaniels in his fucking ass. He set the Broncos back 5 years with his disastrous run.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:24 PM
That’s another thing. If he’s such a team leader and so determined to help his team win, why is he unwilling to play a position that could better the team? He’d be a great TE/FB/LB, why does he have to play QB? He’s not Warren Moon refusing to play DB, his arm strength, mechanics, and accuracy are all currently subpar. Maybe he’ll change it, but maybe he just won’t be able to.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:24 PM
Stafford played alright yesterday. Still inconsistent at times unfortunately.

Is he actually doing this? I don’t know if I’ve read that he’s unwilling to move. I don’t think I’ve ever seen where he’s been asked to make a position change.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:30 PM
This has probably been said, but there are just as many people that want him to fail as there are that want him to succeed. Tebow is everything his fans say he is and everything his critics say he is. The reason (in my opinion) most people are sick of the Tebow talk has almost nothing to do with Tebow himself. He’s about as likable as someone can be. The hate comes from those who so desperately want him to succeed, that they in turn ignore or minimize his glaring weaknesses.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:30 PM
I mean, Tim Tebow gets more attention than Aaron Rodgers. That’s ridiculous. I’d say he’s the Danica Patrick of football, but I don’t believe that Tebow’s actively seeking the spotlight like Patrick does. That’s why I don’t despise him.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:30 PM

Remember when we talked about Tebow but it was because he was posing with a chick with huge boobs? I miss those posts.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:31 PM
They should put a Tebow-Brady Quinn accuracy drill on pay per view.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:32 PM
Would you, if you were in his shoes? I’m sure he still thinks he is the bomb as a QB…national championships, first round draft pick, etc. Athletes’ egos die hard.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:32 PM
That is so racist but holy hell is that funny.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:32 PM
Craig Krenzel is a scholar and a saint.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:32 PM
That could take the place of the Pro Bowl. I’m sure more people would watch.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:33 PM
Tebow vs. John Cena …would be the BIGGEST match of all time…
October 31st, 2011 at 2:34 PM
No, that would make him Tarvaris Jackson. Who is rightfully ignored because he’s not that good at his job.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:34 PM
You got hate in your heart, let it out.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:34 PM
I dunno – I think Tebow would have at least got a first down against the Illini defense.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:34 PM
That could take the place of the Pro Bowl. I’m sure more people would watch
I imagine the visual is a big red barn with target circles on it.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:34 PM
Tebow is the worst QB I have ever seen football. Period.
Oh come on. Craig fucking Krenzel was the Bears QB for a short while. There is absolutely no way he’s better than Tim Tebow.
Cade Mcnown can’t get no respect.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:34 PM
How’d that work for Akili Smith?
October 31st, 2011 at 2:35 PM
I would actively root for the meteor if that match ever happens.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:35 PM
Tebow stats very similar to Craig Krenzel; slightly more passing yardage, same completion %; slightly higher qb rating; worse win-loss
October 31st, 2011 at 2:36 PM
I can already hear the crowd groaning in the background.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:38 PM
I bet Craig Krenzel would make a cooler paper mache volcano though
October 31st, 2011 at 2:38 PM
that’s only because the Bears have been able to play defense for the past 10 years.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:38 PM
Tryin…
October 31st, 2011 at 2:38 PM
Like the 3 hours before the Super Bowl should be All Tebow
Pro Wrestling, accuracy vs bad qbs, then motivational speaking, then some fitness infomercial, what else could we throw in there?
October 31st, 2011 at 2:38 PM
It worked for michael vick juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust fine.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:39 PM
Damn. Tough crowd up in this bitch. 21/30, 267 and 3 TDs without a pick.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:39 PM
That’s a good point, I think I remember him saying he would be willing to change posititons before he got drafted, but that he preferred to remain a QB. I guess it’s not his fault McDaniel didn’t do so.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:40 PM
Cade McNown was worse. Jonathan Quinn was worse. Kordell’s attempted revival with the Bears was just as bad, but not worse. Chad Hutchinson was better. I think that about covers the dark ages from Erik Kramer to Kyle Orton.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:40 PM
That kills Mr. Burns’ narrative, though.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:40 PM
Vick is pretty good at throwing the football and such, which comes in handy when you are a quarterback.
/Vick hater
October 31st, 2011 at 2:40 PM
I can’t really tell if you hate Michael Vick because he’s not a great QB or because he’s black. I think it might be a little of both.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:41 PM
No love for Shane Matthews SC?
October 31st, 2011 at 2:41 PM
I thought Tomzcak was in there somewhere.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:41 PM
then some fitness infomercial, what else could we throw in there?
Gauntlet of heathens in need of circumcision.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:43 PM
Vick has Jay Buhner’s arm strength.
/I hate Mike Vick
October 31st, 2011 at 2:44 PM
No, that was Maggie Simpson.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:44 PM
Uncle rico’s throwing motion>tebow’s throwing motion
October 31st, 2011 at 2:44 PM

Smilin’ Hank Burris.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:44 PM
why are you so quick to say Pujols was having a bad world series after 15 AB and then say 5 games isn’t enough to say Tebow sucks the Eucharist?
October 31st, 2011 at 2:44 PM
Uncle rico’s throwing motion>tebow’s throwing motion
That’s funny
October 31st, 2011 at 2:46 PM
same number of national championships won as a starter.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:47 PM
I forgot about Shane Matthews. Hank Burris has been expunged from all memories. He was worse than Tebow. I’d take Shane Matthews over Tebow.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:48 PM
Mike Vick can also throw a ball 60 yards straight and with zip without being the biggest dude.
/Vick is a freak of nature
October 31st, 2011 at 2:48 PM
Lol
October 31st, 2011 at 2:48 PM
well that’s not very christian…you know, excessive pride and all that.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:49 PM

October 31st, 2011 at 2:49 PM

/SERGIO!!!
//i, sergio? win back to back tournaments? the fates smile upon me, yes? no?

Since it’s being discussed here, the worst QB of all time is a much more difficult argument than the best QB of all time.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:52 PM
same number of national championships won as a starter.
I was just waiting for this to happen.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:52 PM
cmon…worst QB of all time is akili smith. not even close.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:52 PM
tebow coulda taken the state championship, too.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:54 PM
I need a complete breakdown;
Defense recognition at line of scrimmage: Advantage Rico
Ability to run: Ad Tebow
Arm strength; Ad Rico (can throw over a mountain)
Accuracy; Ad Rico
Durability; Ad Rico
Delivery; Neither; Tebow arm motion longer but Uncle Rico also had that huge hip turn and kept ball to low;
Leadership: Ad Tebow; Coach had no faith in Rico to deliver the win in the ’82
Ability to fire tons of balls from a laundry basket; Ad Rico
Uncle Rico in a rout.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:54 PM
Right, the big bad black media is keeping the white quarterback down. However did Aaron Rodgers make it?
October 31st, 2011 at 2:54 PM
Watch me throw this football over them mountains.
I can throw a football a quarter mile.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:55 PM
Andre Ware was worse.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:56 PM
Since it’s being discussed here, the worst QB of all time is a much more difficult argument than the best QB of all time
Tony Banks
October 31st, 2011 at 2:57 PM
David Klingler is in the discussion. They drafted him #6 overall with a 30 year old Boomer on the roster.
/fuck Mike Brown
October 31st, 2011 at 2:58 PM
I’d go with Congressman Shuler.
October 31st, 2011 at 2:58 PM
he was bad, no doubt, but akili smith was CAPITAL HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. look at how bad this is…JUST LOOK. fortunately, where akili smith is going, we don’t need eyes to see.
October 31st, 2011 at 3:00 PM
Spergon Wynn

despite being drafted higher than tom brady, akili smith was the worst because he was drafted no. 3.
October 31st, 2011 at 3:02 PM

no points for beeing named “Spergon”????
October 31st, 2011 at 3:03 PM
not when your opponent is named akili. what is this, battery hour?
October 31st, 2011 at 3:06 PM
I christen thee… Uncle Tebow!
October 31st, 2011 at 3:07 PM
Since it’s being discussed here, the worst QB of all time is a much more difficult argument than the best QB of all time.
There are two types of worst QB’s. There are the horrific, should not see an NFL quarterbacks. Rusty Smith last year was the latest version of that theme. Then there are those that are good enough to be considered as starters, but who continually suck and thus their teams lose a lot of games. Joey Harrington wasn’t the worst QB of all time, but he may have been one of the more costly ones. If he was Akili Smith, Detroit would have moved on sooner.
October 31st, 2011 at 3:08 PM
I would be all for it, but after the way he swindled Oakland, I’m inclined to give him a pass.
October 31st, 2011 at 3:08 PM
UFL passing stats are Tebowesque
PASSING AVG/GAME G Comp-Att-Int Yds TD Avg/
1. Masoli, Jeremia-OMA 4 77-151-5 808 2 202.0
2. Clement, Chase-LVL 4 74-119-1 778 1 194.5
3. Greisen, Chris-VIR 4 61-87-2 695 4 173.8
4. Colburn, Ryan-SAC 3 44-69-3 490 5 163.
October 31st, 2011 at 3:09 PM
Well I think we can all agree the Cleveland Browns currently have the worst QB in a division that features Joe Flacco.
October 31st, 2011 at 3:10 PM
i’ll cosign that.
October 31st, 2011 at 3:13 PM
I just made a photoshop of a creation of mine; I call him

Cam Newton and Andy Dalton are Rookies. New Coaches, New systems (to them at least)… Whats your excuse now?
You try too hard to be a contrarian that you sound like a moron. I know it’s cool to go against the masses, but some times its best to keep your mouth shut and move on.
October 31st, 2011 at 3:22 PM
My work server wont let me upload it. I’ll have to put it online tonight; Cant get fired over Uncle Ribow.
October 31st, 2011 at 3:52 PM

Matthew 6:6 – “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
It’s not necessarily that people hate Tebow (though plenty do, that much is obvious). It’s the media coverage of him (both positive and negative) that nauseates different segments of the general public for different reasons.
From the positive spinners, most like me are left scratching their heads as to why talking heads continue to talk about this kid ad nauseum and hype horrible football match-ups like 1-4 Denver vs. winless Miami (at the expense of their own credibility.) We get it, the kid is devoutly religious. That shouldn’t mean he’s “controversial.” He seems like a great guy, we’re just wondering why a guy with 5 starts (all of which in generally meaningless games) continues to get more coverage than the Tom Brady’s and Aaron Rodgers of the world.
From the negative side of things, nothing brings out the bipolar lunatic in columnists like a huge letdown after a concerted multi-year media ball washing campaign (See: LeBron James). Nobody is more knee-jerk than a hack columnist, guys like Mark Kiszla who come off as having the memory of a goldfish.
And from secular observers like myself (which I imagine make up a huge contingent of the NFL fanbase), broadcasters need to stop pretending like Tim Tebow is the first and only NFL player to pray in public. I’ve been watching pro football for two decades, and I always have seen groups from both teams bowing to pray after the game. I know this has been hit in the past, but people in the media need to stop assuming that just because a guy can do great things off the field, that he will be great on it (and vice versa). As long as they continue to perpetuate these assumptions, I will continue to assume that they leave milk and cookies for Santa Claus every Christmas.
And maybe some cautionary advice to the kid: his Jesus hero status is only going to be relevant for as long as he can stay on a football field. No one outside of Florida is going to trumpet his faith-healing trips because he started a half-dozen games with no success.
October 31st, 2011 at 7:19 PM
I hate him because he’s a despicable human being and not as good as some people say.
October 31st, 2011 at 7:23 PM
But he’s still so much better than Tim Tebow that your bringing race into yet another topic that it didn’t involve was completely pointless
October 31st, 2011 at 7:37 PM
He not that much better than tebow…he really isnt.
October 31st, 2011 at 7:41 PM
And also I hate to say it but Limbaugh was right
October 31st, 2011 at 7:46 PM
You can’t possibly be this asinine.
October 31st, 2011 at 7:51 PM
Did he also say that the media wants to overrate an outwardly Christian athlete since that’s more accurate than the black QB thing
And I don’t know how to respond to the other comment without going the “have you watched them play” route since a simple understanding of football shows that one is at worst an above-average NFL starter and the other a guy with borderline UFL talent
November 1st, 2011 at 12:32 AM
Why are so many people making excuses for tebow Kyle had the same people ad Tim so NW what who I thed bbest they both are having the same problem on the same team give Brady his chance now
November 1st, 2011 at 12:48 PM
Wow. Full-blown retard.
