The St. Louis Cardinals Are Your World Series Champions
There was a method to Tony LaRussa’s madness. The St. Louis Cardinals are your World Series Champions, after defeating the Texas Rangers 6-2 in Game 7. Mr. Clutch and Hometown Hero David Freese is your World Series MVP. Bud Selig just had to read that off a script, which is why they pay him the big bucks, really big bucks. Thankfully, the playoffs are now over, so we can progress to what baseball fans truly care about: the Red Sox and Yankees hot stove. [Photo via Getty]

MLB had those World Series champions hats up on mlb.com (only $31.99!)within seconds. I guess all the Ranger ones will be sent off some kids in Bangladesh.

LaRussa has now won three titles. Very small list of managers with three rings. Certain Hall of Famer.

Solid chance to repeat as well with Wainwright coming back

This assumes that their lineup will remain unchanged. This also assumes that the bullpen is actually great and can keep up the pace of the overachieving season.

he was a certain hall of famer even before this season.

Who cares about a repeat? I’m a die hard Cardinals fan and a rationalist as well. I’m just enjoying this for what it is. With no hyperbole needed, one of the craziest fucking two month runs in baseball history.
- No Wainwright, tons of injuries, down 10.5 on August 25th, down 5 games with three to go, down 2-1 in the NLDS to the Phillies, facing the Brewers who won the division by six games, and then in Game 6 being down to their last strike twice.
If you can’t appreciate the sheer ridiculousness of that, then you are not a real baseball fan.
