Syracuse Lacrosse Player Charged with DUI; Gets Kicked in the Chest by a Police Officer. Also, He Was Driving His Coach’s Car.
Kevin Drew, a senior lacrosse player at Syracuse, got popped for DUI early Monday morning, and he went and dragged his coach into it, too.
A police officer witnessed a 2007 Chevy Trail Blazer strike a parked 1990 Toyota about 3:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Broad Street, records state.
The officer chased the Trail Blazer at speeds of 50 mph, over the posted 30 mph speed limit. After the vehicle finally pulled over, Drew, who was the only one in the car, did not follow police commands to get out of the car with his hands up, documents state.
As the officer approached Drew, Drew got into an aggressive stance, and Officer John Gunsalus “delivered one front kick strike to Drew’s chest area,” knocking him to the ground.
The Trail Blazer did not belong to Drew. It seems the 21 year-old took his roommate Tim’s car. Guess who is Tim’s father? That would be John Desko, who has been the Syracuse coach since 1999. He led the Cuse to a title in 2009. [Post-Standard]

Very happy he’s heading to cuse over UK. Kinda got a feeling about 6 months ago he wasn’t heading to Ohio state. Covered that kid for two years. He’s no Sullinger, but he’ll be pretty good.
