World Series Game Four Ratings on FOX Top Sunday Night Football Rout on NBC
Two close games to open the World Series, followed by the 3-homer heroics of Albert Pujols Saturday night in game three, propelled the World Series to a surprisingly-easy ratings triumph Sunday night over the uninteresting Saints/Colts game. Game four of the Fall Classic registered a 10.1 – which is supposedly the lowest game four rating in World Series history – while the NFL on NBC only did an 8.2.
New Orleans grabbed a 28-0 quick lead over hapless Indianapolis, and those of you who didn’t switch to Wedding Crashers on TNT for the 38th time opted for Derek Holland’s pitching gem on FOX. Game five is tonight against another horrible NFL game: Baltimore at Jacksonville. There’s also Gossip Girl, if that’s your bag. The CBS lineup – How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men – has new episodes, and should dominate the coveted 18-49 demo.
I haven’t been able to find Saturday night’s game three rating, but according to these figures, the World Series rolled over unranked Notre Dame vs. unranked USC on NBC. The Trojans jumped to a 17-0 lead and the game wasn’t very good. The ABC game, Texas Tech/Oklahoma, was delayed over 90 minutes by storms, and in its place, Stanford trounced Washington, 65-21.
The good news for MLB: This won’t be the lowest rated series ever.

We would have also accepted, “They’re making money hand over fist,” or “they aren’t dealing with a labor stoppage that has already cancelled half of their season next year.”

Unlike Notre Dame, MLB has returned to glory
Been a good World Series and as Lisk foretold, if the play is good viewers will follow…looking forward to the game tonight although I’m worried Straight Edge lays another egg in the postseason

Free the Flex!
October 24th, 2011 at 11:12 AM
MLB is lucky that the flex scheduling doesn’t kick in until later in the season. Pretty close to an unwatchable game last night. Colts are embarrassing.

Contract the Colts and Notre Dame. Problem solved.

A 7:05 first pitch tonight means I’ll miss the first 3-4 innings. That kinda sucks. I too am worried about CJ Wilson not being able to get it done tonight.

Ratings. Zesty, tasty ratings.

Wouldn’t they have switched over to the end of the Michigan State/Wisconsin game considering that it was like 29-3 in the 7th?

Sorry to shift gears but if any of you ever have a chance to go to Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge for a game, do it…even if your school gets their dicks smashed in.
October 24th, 2011 at 11:17 AM
clearly this means the NFL is quickly becoming less popular than MLB since their ratings are crappy.
October 24th, 2011 at 11:17 AM
I thought the NFL didn’t have a SNF game during the first Sunday night game of World Series

Saints get St. Louis next week. Back to back winless teams.
/still get Detroit, Giants, Atlanta, Atlanta, Tampa 2nd half
//Carolina and Tennessee aren’t horrible either
///Minnesota–meh

Good talent? Nice tailgate experience? Both?

Until they discovered that they can get good ratings.
They scheduled two teams without a MLB team this year. I suspect that that will happen in the future. It wasn’t their fault that the game sucked and the ratings tanked.

I’m on board for a daily, year-round TV ratings post from TBL, with the well-reasoned analysis of what each evening’s results mean for the long term future of everyone involved.

The ratings for Whitney mean people should think twice before saying this is the best country in the world…after watching an episode of that even Ricky Stanzi would take his American flag bandana off

I’d rather get daily speculation on where media members are going to go next to write stuff that no one reads or cares about anyway.

“What Baseball Tonight’s Wednesday night defeat at the hands of Hart of Dixie in the 18-49 women’s demo means for that dickwad Keith Law, and whether ESPN will continue to push this dying sport.”

So a rotation of games featuring the Saints, Colts, Packers, Bills, Jaguars, Panthers, and Texans.
//See what I did there.

I thought the NFL didn’t have a SNF game during the first Sunday night game of World Series
that was when SNF was only garbage games on ESPN, which is now Monday. And MLB didn’t used to schedule a monday night world series game, until MNF moved to cable.
I think.

Well, talent at an SEC game is the same at every stadium so there was plenty of that.
It was a perfect mix of drunk cajuns talking just enough shit to be fun, combined with hospitable cajuns who lived up to the best tailgating food in the country, combined with an awesome stadium with music and the band, etc. that kept everybody riled up for the entire length of the game. And LSU is good. It’s hard to tell who’s who out there because their entire team looks big and fast and they sub in so many people who are just as good.

You want to join the flash mob on State Street tomorrow at noon? We’re all doing cartwheels on State after the Theo presser.

I kind of get the feeling that SC lives his life completely devoid of regrets.

Speaking as a partisan, there is nothing like Tiger Stadium on a Saturday. Start tailgating at breakfast for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
/ The talent is usually breathtaking

Kept checking the “Whats Hot” up to the minute feed on Directv, and the football game was dominating baseball pretty much all night.
Can’t wait till All homes are tracked so this flawed system that is Neilson can stop pulling numbers out their wasu.
