World Series Ratings For Game Two … Up!

Remember when Jason Lisk said World Series ratings have only been down for the last few years because the games weren’t competitive? Well, Thursday’s 2-1 thriller – won in the Top of the 9th inning – saw an uptick in ratings after an underwhelming game one number. According to Austin Karp of Sports Business Daily, game two generated a 10.0 rating, a nice bump considering it was up against a college football game (Arizona’s brawl-marred win was unwatchable). Now the question becomes: With warmer weather in Texas, any chance we’ll see two more 1-run games? Or will the offenses exploded?

Other questions: Will Josh Hamilton and Albert Pujols get on track? Hamilton is 0-7 with a sac fly; Pujols is 0-6 with a run scored. Who would you rather party with, that drunk LaRussa or the guy who favors cocaine, Ron Washington?

Fox will have sports competition Saturday night for game three (using BCS rankings):

NBC: Unranked Notre Dame vs. unranked USC
ABC: No. 25 Washington at No. 8 Stanford
ESPN: No. 6 Wisconsin at No. 16 Michigan State

I won’t get into the only-the-old-people-are-watching-the-World-Series-and-younger-fans-favor-the-NBA-Finals ratings numbers yet. Perhaps next week.

Does talking about ratings really move the needle? I think TBL enjoys some of the commenters that go apeshit when a ratings post comes up.

This defies everything advertisers believe about demographic importance since one sport makes money and the other doesn’t

NBA not making any advertising dollars off their frugal fans that don’t pay and watch illegal streams on the internet. MLB on the other hand…

What would be interesting is how much ad rates are for the different demos that would care about this. Does Cadillac pay more per spot than Bud Light?

I second this. LaRussa seems like he’d be a d-bag when drunk. Washington gets drunk, and the party is just getting started.

Actually the two games scored almost the exact same ratings:
Game 1 – 12.91M viewers 3.9 rating/10 Share in 18-49 Demo
Game 2 – 12.91M viewers 3.7 rating/10 Share in 18-49 Demo

Deli cut roast beef and colby jack cheese on wheat. Two pickles and some apple sauce on the side. Yes I’m 28 years old and I love apple sauce.

We have a cafeteria at my work site, so I had Orange chicken with brown rice and broccoli, and a salad.

NBC: Unranked Notre Dame vs. unranked USC One program trying to get back…the other just trying to stay alive for the moment.
ABC: No. 25 Washington at No. 8 Stanford Only matters to “Suck for Luck”-ers
ESPN: No. 6 Wisconsin at No. 16 Michigan State
Only game that might be worth watching. That said, if Wilson goes off on Sparty, this could get ugly fast…and drive people back into Game 3.

Lunch: cheeseburger and fries. I am not pleased with myself.
