Alabama Running Back Brent Calloway Arrested on Marijuana Charge

Brent Calloway doesn’t have a carry this year – he’s only a freshman – but he was one of the nation’s top recruits in 2011. Nick Saban probably envisioned Calloway battling Eddie Lacy for carries next year after Trent Richardson is taken in the top 10 of the draft. Following Calloway’s arrest early this morning, the Nov. 5 LSU-Alabama game has to be renamed something weed-related, right?

Officers noticed a strong marijuana smell when they stopped Calloway, 18, in the 900 block of Bryant Drive at 12:45 a.m., said Tuscaloosa Police spokesman Sgt. Brent Blankley. The officers found a small bag containing marijuana “on his person,” Blankley said.
