I’m probably a bit jaded due to my in-laws, but I think it’s worth it for one parent to work even if the money is just for daycare. I think it’s good for both spouses to get out of the house rather than have one stay at home parent.

If I were Jay Beagle, I’d get some advice on how to drop the gloves or pick a different dance partner. Yikes. Asham dropped him with two of the hardest punches you’ll ever see.

And yeah, that thing Asham did afterwards was out of character for him. He did applaud when Beagle got up and seemed to gather himself a bit in the box, but that little thing he did after the fight is not even close to the worse thing I’ve seen a player do after a fight. Still, it was out of character for Asham.

Oh, it was most definitely taunting.

There’s no video up on HockeyFights yet. Just a screencap of Beagle getting popped. It says he also got a roughing penalty so looks like he antagonized Asham into whooping his ass.

Didn’t see the fight or the antics, but I like Asham. Tough dude with a bit more talent than you might think (in the right role). If he did something stupid after the fight, it would be out of character. He’s a pretty honest player.

the roughing penalty came from before the fight on Letang. Asham came over right after the whistle and Beagle accepted, threw two quick punches before eating Asham’s fist twice, crashing to the ice and spitting teeth out.

I also really enjoyed this book by Thomas Starzl, a surgeon in Pittsburgh who guest lectured a class of mine, and was responsible for much of the early research on liver transplants and anti-rejection meds.

I think a medical board selects the recipients based on how likely they are to survive, how badly they need it, etc. etc…. it’s all done without knowing the patients identity.

There is actually a formula that has been put together that takes into account a patient’s age, certain test results and a whole host of other factors. The number that is spit out is then compared to other potential recipients in the region. My daughter’s number was the highest her doctors had ever seen.
