I used to bike a lot (triathlon training). There were only a handful of guys I could ride with b/c most of the “strictly cyclists” (not cross trainers) were absolute asshats on the road. Their response “They should share the road”. My response “You should be less of a dick, the laws of physics DO apply to cyclists.” Idiots.

I don’t that they’re the worst people in the world but they are, generally, hypocrites. They’re the first to bitch if you don’t allow them space on the road and will quote you the fucking laws verbatim. However, they also blow through stop signs and red lights at every opportunity.

I’ve made more than one ‘sudden’ right turn at a red light when I’ve seen one of these assholes barreling down the road with no intent to stop. One guy did a fun little roll across my hood.
