I’m not sure it says much different. I said the Pats can compete, and Belichick has consistently got good red zone/turnover performance so his teams always finish better in yards in points. However, in the past, it has been defenses in the middle in yards, and near the best in points, and not at the very bottom in yards.

Dallas was replaced by the St. Louis Cardinals as a host team in 1975 and 1977; Dallas and St. Louis faced each other in Dallas in 1976. Because of the long-established Kirkwood–Webster Groves high school football game that takes place on Thanksgiving in St. Louis, the Cardinals' hosting of the Thanksgiving game was not popular. Dallas returned to hosting the game in 1978 and has hosted ever since. I looked on wikipedia, and found that some number jockey had already tabulated all that crap.

Wikipedia, and my earlier comment, would be technically wrong. In 1977, they kicked off at 1:30 eastern time. Not sure why. Was that one of the year’s that the Cardinals, and not the Cowboys hosted a Thanksgiving game.
