I Hate Awkward Runners
As an avid outdoors man (my desk is right next to my window), I am quite familiar with awkward runners. Those fitness freaks who seem to keep running as their full-time job. While there’s nothing wrong with a good jog, the fact that some people look like weirdos when they run will always be off-putting. Not swinging your arms isn’t going to take any time off your 5k time. With that in mind, I present this video which literally made me El Oh El.

October 5th, 2011 at 3:22 PM
Why have I seen this before?
October 5th, 2011 at 3:23 PM
That video sucks.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:23 PM
I don’t like the people who look like they’re fighting off death as they go along, you feel bad about not asking if they need assistance but if they don’t it would probably just make them mad if you did
October 5th, 2011 at 3:23 PM
“Separate Ways” was an inspired choice of songs for this video.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:23 PM
Steve Perry is the best.

I offer you this nugget from the not-tto-distant past.

Well that and the near complete lack of lung capacity I bet.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:27 PM
that was some funny shit.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:27 PM
In addition to awkward runners, these things creep me out.

In addition to awkward runners, these things creep me out.
You would never believe this, but I saw a dude rocking these at Whole Foods. Freaked me out.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:29 PM
Not to mention stumpy legs.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:30 PM
I thought the brunette in the white tank top was kinda cute…
October 5th, 2011 at 3:30 PM
Anybody know anything about CrossFit? And whether or not L. Ron Hubbard had anything to do with it?
/ those people terrify me
October 5th, 2011 at 3:30 PM
Yup, I’ve got a pair. Insanely comfortable.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:30 PM
au contraire brah…lung capacity increased in smokers of the doja, decreased in cigarette smokers.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:31 PM
I was at the gym last week on the treadmill and a girl in the row ahead of me stopped, put her feet on the rails and had this blank look on her face. She collapsed and didn’t break her fall and fell in such a way that her head was on the adjacent treadmill. Problem for her, it was still running and took a second for the person to realize what happened. Turns out she was ok, but it was completely bizarre to see.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:31 PM
That’s why you stick to golf, bro. I had such a terrible growth spurt in 7th grade that my dad damn near disowned me after watching me run up and down the court at my CYO basketball games. He thought his child turned into Simon Burch.

October 5th, 2011 at 3:35 PM
never joined a cross fit gym but i do their workout of the day a few times a week as a break from the sedentarium.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:35 PM
a) GOLF
b) lol
October 5th, 2011 at 3:36 PM
If I had a lot of money, I’d join a CrossFit gym. The workouts are legit.

au contraire brah…lung capacity increased in smokers of the doja, decreased in cigarette smokers.
Whatever you say Smokey.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:38 PM
no doubt. I run three times a week and don’t have a problem with breathing. it’s my stamina that kills me.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:38 PM
My roommate wears these things. The guy is the fucking Anti-poon.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:39 PM
howabout this…my doja-fueled apathy will make the impending doom from whatever i have to run from less drawn out.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:39 PM
Michael Johnson was a rather awkward runner, IMO. It didn’t turn out all too bad for him. He was quite the upright arched back stiffy runner.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:42 PM
I can’t run. I guess I would be an awkward walker. I tend to walk very fast. Not quite as weird as the speed walkers, though.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:43 PM
the dude who makes all the noises from police academy?
October 5th, 2011 at 3:45 PM

His awkward form didn’t help him run with a faked hamstring injury.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:45 PM
God forbid I ever live til I’m 97, I’m calling the fucking police if I lose my remote. I deserve that right.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:46 PM
BLAME CANADA!!!
October 5th, 2011 at 3:47 PM
Yeah, those things are just weird. But I would still rock those shoes over say….a pair of crocs.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:51 PM
was that one guy Ben Foster?

o/t – Wild Things is on. Kid was in the room with his mom.
the 3-some scene was approaching. I said, “Bryce, check this scene out” … his mom got angry at me. wouldn’t permit it.
Bryce is 6 months, doubt he would have known what was going on.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:56 PM
Haha, TBL named his kid after the douchey MLB prospect
October 5th, 2011 at 3:57 PM
Hilarious, TBL. That’s me as a father.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:58 PM
Pretty sure LeBron has a kid named Bryce Maximus James.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:58 PM
doubt he would have known what was going on.
Confused as to why the pretty girl is letting herself be attacked by the ugly girl.
October 5th, 2011 at 3:58 PM
back in motherland, me and cousin yuri made to watch uncle dimitri give aunt anna “stalin’s fist.” uncle dimitri say “in soviet russia, abstinence practices you!”

gotta go full Bryce and put the eye paint on.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:00 PM
wilhelm – this will sound really dorky, but i’ve had 3 names that i’ve wanted to name my kid for about 7-8 years. weak for a guy to admit, but i don’t care.
no, i won’t give the other 2. wife knows them, but is lukewarm on one, not feeling the other. i have some time to convince her on using one.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:01 PM
New mothers have the same sense of humor that they likely had when they were planning their wedding.
Which is to say they are completely and utterly humorless.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:02 PM
Bryce is a solid name.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:02 PM
No doubt, even I got a little confused after the 5th plot twist at the end

Nothing weak about that. My fiancee and I have been arguing about baby names for at least two years now.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:03 PM
sebastian and yngwie?
October 5th, 2011 at 4:03 PM
i don’t think that’s dorky or weak. dorky and weak is not caring or giving up on your say in the naming process.
let me guess, other names are Rex and Mark?
/just kidding
October 5th, 2011 at 4:05 PM
It’s better than my first name.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:06 PM
honus? is your first name honus?
October 5th, 2011 at 4:06 PM
philly is a good first name. don’t get down on yourself, sport.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:07 PM
My wife and I just alternated on the kids first and middle name. I picked the 1st name of my daughter and middle name my son. The 3rd one we just came to an agreement on the name, only to change it right after he was born because for some reason, he didn’t look like a Jacob.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:07 PM
You’ve seen my name on twitter. But honus is up there. Almost as bad as Milhouse.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:07 PM
It’s herbie hancock.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:07 PM
Stephen Curry McIntyre
October 5th, 2011 at 4:10 PM
dude, milhouse rocks. everything’s coming up milhouse!
charl is funny name…tho it was less funny when he won the masters and i had to stop using “steamy charl” to describe taking a dump.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:12 PM
shit, I’m not even married and I know what my first born will be named, as long as it’s a boy. Waylon.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:13 PM
Brock is name that is severly underutilized these days.
A Brock would totally beat up a Tucker.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:13 PM
My name is Milhouse too!
So this is what it’s like when doves cry.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:14 PM
that’s pretty legit.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:14 PM
I’m naming my boy Bort and I don’t care if he hates my being able to laugh at his expense
October 5th, 2011 at 4:15 PM
BWAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!
October 5th, 2011 at 4:16 PM
I see plenty of Bort license plates, but no Barts.
On the naming topic, my wife doesn’t want any of our kids to have the same first name letter as our immediate family, so no J, H, M, B names to start their first name.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:17 PM
Brock always seems like a meathead kind of name. the one guy named Brock I know fit the steroetype.
/apologies to any Brock’s on here.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:19 PM
how about Dirk?
October 5th, 2011 at 4:21 PM
same for me, the brock i knew went on to selling time shares.
i can’t have any kids with a hard “k” or “c” ending the first name.
I do like Jack as a name though.
got vetoed on Bauer as the middle name.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:25 PM
i’m a way geeky father. i think it’s the coolest name and i think he’s the best looking and i think he’s the funniest. i LOVE going out in public with him. this morning at starbucks 4 moms all came right up and were trying to talk to him. he draws a crowd in public.
/i know every kid gets this
//still, it’s awesome
October 5th, 2011 at 4:25 PM
Took me 30 seconds to figure this out.
/HUMANIZED!
October 5th, 2011 at 4:26 PM
kid named Brock sounds like a football player. tough guy.
wife has a friend whose kid’s name is Jackson. think that’s a cool name. i actually think last names can work as first names (at the risk of giving other names i have away)
October 5th, 2011 at 4:29 PM
SANCHEZ!
October 5th, 2011 at 4:31 PM
Being a parent is the best.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:31 PM
I wanted to name my son Jack too! Oh well.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:32 PM
shit, I’m not even married and I know what my first born will be named, as long as it’s a boy. Waylon.
I “knew” what I was going to name my first born son for several years. Both names choices have been firmly scuttled by my fiancee. She doesn’t like the name Benjamin and thinks if we name our a John, that her family will call him ‘Juan’ and she doesn’t like that.
The point being, just because you think you’re going to name your child something doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:32 PM
have you thought about Seven?
/there’s gotta be someone around here that gets that reference.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:32 PM
Jack’s among my favorite names, however it falls afoul of the “J” rule I described before.
Jack Bauer is a bad ass period.
/Who are you working for!
October 5th, 2011 at 4:33 PM
Best friend of Blossom. Nice reference.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:35 PM
that’s why god invented child abduction.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:36 PM
I had friends that named their kid Fox Mulder.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:36 PM
Where’s WWoS to point out the grammatical mistakes in my comment.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:36 PM
it would be great b/c i’d teach my kid to yell, “we’re running out of time! Dammit!” whenever my wife was taking a long time getting ready.
it’d be awesome for the first 2 or 3 times.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:36 PM
nice tense. id ditch those assholes too.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:37 PM
Good idea Spence.
/runs off to buy duct tape
October 5th, 2011 at 4:37 PM
problem is, you’d start laughing at your wife’s reaction instead of your kid eventually. bad news.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:38 PM
Stephen, Mark, etc are all played out. like 3-4 kids in his class will have those names.
i was for a unique name – well, at least so that it was unlikely he’d have another kid with his name in his class.
i had 2 other jasons graduate HS with me (600 person class)
October 5th, 2011 at 4:40 PM
i mean, if we’re going for unique names…nobody names their kids “adolf” anymore. just saying he’d have that all to himself.
/backs out quickly
October 5th, 2011 at 4:41 PM
yeah, that would be bad, but those first couple times and sense of accomplishment would be great.
until we get stuck in traffic and he yells it at me.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:42 PM
I know that my name is unique, but trust me, take my name and imagine all of the possible rhymes and derivatives you can use.
Just want my kids not to have any weird names.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:43 PM
unfortunately a couple did that not far from me a couple years ago. they were also neo nazi’s and had their kids taken away from them.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:46 PM
I know that my name is unique, but trust me, take my name and imagine all of the possible rhymes and derivatives you can use.
Just want my kids not to have any weird names.
The few people here I’ve exchanged emails with know my full name now. And I happen to go by my middle name rather than my much more common first name. So I’ve got the unique name market partially cornered as well. Especially when you look at my middle name and last name together.
/no one humanize me
October 5th, 2011 at 4:46 PM
seriously…weird names are great and all for the parents, but it SUCKS for the kid.
growing up with a last name that’s dick with an e in the middle only made me more of a cynical asshole than i was before.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:48 PM
Awesome. One good thing about my name is that it is a synonym for pot.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:49 PM
Always find the positive. Nicely done.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:50 PM
YOUR NAME IS DOJA? that’s awesome.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:52 PM
Chronic? MaryJane?
October 5th, 2011 at 4:54 PM
Now that would be an awesome name.
October 5th, 2011 at 4:56 PM
If it’s “Reggie”, it’s really not that awesome
October 5th, 2011 at 5:21 PM
this will sound really dorky, but i’ve had 3 names that i’ve wanted to name my kid for about 7-8 years
Give him a good Cajun name, like T-Bob Hebert of the LSU offensive line (Bobby Hebert’s son). I like the sound of “T-TBL McIntyre.”
(BTW, Bobby Hebert’s name through high school was “Bobby Jay Hebert.” At some point, he lost the “Jay.”)
October 5th, 2011 at 5:50 PM
TBL, as the parent of a 2 yr old I can tell you nobody names their kids Stephen or Mark. Some of my son’s playground buddies are named Clyde, Lloyd, Axel, Cooper, and Bixby. That’s right some parent named their kid after Bill Bixby.
/son is a “IV”
//-1 for originality
October 5th, 2011 at 6:40 PM
That’s right some parent named their kid after Bill Bixby
At least he’ll have a cool nickname: “Bix.” If it was good enough for Bix Beiderbecke …
October 5th, 2011 at 6:51 PM
my bro-in-law’s dad is named James Bond
October 5th, 2011 at 6:57 PM
vayjayjay lives in SEC country now?
October 5th, 2011 at 6:59 PM
i can spell. No really, i can!
October 5th, 2011 at 10:23 PM
