Ok we won’t blame the shark.
Limey bastard
September 30th, 2011 at 8:20 AM
I can honestly say that I have had 1 redbull in my life and only because it was mixed with Vodka.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:22 AM
South African beach closed due to shark sightings, man decides to swim anyway, loses legs to Great White Shark …
if we give into the fear the sharks win!!!

“I’m at five,” the star said at a screening of “What’s Your Number?” “Don’t you think five is kind of low? I’m 34!”
i’d say five is extremely low at age 34.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:26 AM
warrior. never was the player they recruited after having microfracture surgery early in his senior year of high school. awesome to see that he will stay on scholarship and get his degree.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:26 AM
you’ve reached that point at home?
September 30th, 2011 at 8:27 AM
That pool dive was scary.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:28 AM
I’ve never had an energy drink before beside coffee.

The extent of my Red Bull experience has almost always been combined with vodka.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:30 AM
it was a joke. thanks for making me feel like a terrible husband and deadbeat future-dad so early in the morning. jackass.

you are very welcome.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:37 AM
red bull & vodka was a staple of mine for at least a 1-2 yr stretch. not every weekend, but anytime i needed to get in the zone quickly … that was the drink. haven’t touched one in like 7-8 years
September 30th, 2011 at 8:37 AM
Have to admit I was thinking the same thing.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:39 AM
William Howard Taft has something to say about this.

Wait, can we comment in this one?

have red bull and vodkas been around for 7-8 years? i didn’t think they were really popular until 5 years ago or so…

I was drinking them back in 2001, so yeah they’ve been around for a long time now.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:44 AM
During the holidays a couple years back I worked the night shift in a factory for extra money. I chugged two monsters before work and was so jittery it looked like I was detoxing from booze.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:45 AM
nah. I heard people were drinking them when I first sobered up. That was 11 years ago.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:45 AM
Yup, I remember having them lots when I was dating this one guy, and that was 8 years ago
September 30th, 2011 at 8:45 AM

I saw Delvon play his junior year at the state bball tourney. He was a freak….gaurding opposing 1′s, full court. Ending up losing though, mostly b/c they couldn’t stop Indian Legend Pat Tabler’s son.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:50 AM
there’s a bar around here that smells like a combination of red bull and throw up. I’ve never had red bull on account of this, just the smell makes me nauseous.

i bet Christie would prefer the obesity comparison to Taft over any political comparison.
Isn’t Christie a pretty “liberal” Republican? Why would the GOP who seem to be screaming about going back to the days of Reagan want someone like him?
September 30th, 2011 at 8:52 AM
who’s the VS chick in the new commercial that is prancing around in her bra and panties? she’s pretty easy on the eyes.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:52 AM
What is that guy thinking jumping off that balcony? That was nuts.
/A white guy wouldn’t have made it.
that was very uncomfortable to watch. The risk/reward made no sense. He just barely missed shattering his legs.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:52 AM
it’s a shame. because of the issues, he was never able to work and mature his game in the offseason, ever. he was always a great defender and solid rebounder, but never have the opportunity to work on his offense.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:53 AM
Last time I had anything like that, I was having a tired day and was going to be out late. So I slammed two Sobe Adrenaline Rush back to back. That was a…mistake

oh thank goodness! where would we be without these troopers with JD’s?
September 30th, 2011 at 8:54 AM
Red Bull and Vodka came around 3 weeks after red bull showed up. I was drinking them while stoned at clubs in 1997.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:54 AM
whoa.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:55 AM
Going to need a little more information to answer that question. Lots of women in bra and panties in a VS commercial.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:55 AM
After I watched him, I was sure he was going to be a star, and not just in college. Hurt his knee early his senior year and never the same.
September 30th, 2011 at 8:56 AM
and it really seems like the players give a shit. Stern is so full of himself it is hilarious, it’s sad that I don’t care 2 cents about the nba and I know this.

depends how long you’ve been married. if you’re married at 23, then sure. but i’d say five is low for 25-34.

So about these Tito is out in Boston rumors that are flying this AM….
Oh please let the Red Sox be this stupid. Or Red Sox fans be that obnoxious that Tito just plain wants out. Terry, I got your first beer on the north side if that’s the case. We just ruin other fans lives here (allegedly) but managers are safe. Unless you’re Dusty Baker.
Come to Chicago, Tito! Just leave Theo behind!
September 30th, 2011 at 9:03 AM

September 30th, 2011 at 9:04 AM

September 30th, 2011 at 9:04 AM

They certainly aren’t paid that way, that’s for sure.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:07 AM
Yeah, if he gets reelected in New Jersey first. His approval rating has gone up recently but it was recently about even between approval and disapproval, and he is governor of a pretty blue state.

September 30th, 2011 at 9:08 AM
why? (i don’t know much about him) i know he may not have the groundwork properly laid, but it sure does seem like there’s a vacuum to be filled in 2012
September 30th, 2011 at 9:08 AM
Terry would look so good in Cubbie Blue. Seriously, Francona is good people. I would love him here. Can guarantee that Kenny Williams is going to be hot on that trail, too.
Poaching Rick Hahn, hiring Tito Francona and blowing the whole thing up. Oh my. I think it moved. Actually, I know it moved.

Christie/Booker in 16!
September 30th, 2011 at 9:09 AM
yes, he’s leaving because of the fans. you hit the nail right on the head with that one…
September 30th, 2011 at 9:09 AM
Barry is getting re-elected no matter what. It’s like Bush in 04.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:09 AM
The best part about this is it will be on terrestrial radio so people who don’t want to shell out money for Sirius/XM will actually be able to hear it.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:09 AM
A Christie/Rubio ticket would be the toughest for Obama to beat IMO.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:09 AM
i don’t know much about christie other than the bad stuff…what’s the good stuff?
September 30th, 2011 at 9:10 AM
Will never happen. I could see Romney trying to pick someone like Rubio as a running mate, though.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:11 AM

And then has a limo drive him 500 yards to get to said game after getting off the helicopter.
/high fives the Senator
//passes the bottle service with the Vegas 10
September 30th, 2011 at 9:11 AM
That’s pretty naive considering the latest polling numbers. The eventual GOP candidate is also going to get a bit of a bump from choosing a VP, most likely Rubio who will help with the South, Tea Party, and Hispanic vote.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:12 AM
I would be that President Obama will be reelected. However, it will be close and the Dems will almost certainly lose the Senate. Just too many seats to defend there.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:12 AM
the helicopter and him being fat is the bad? he pretty much has stuck to what he said he would do. he cut a lot, a shitload, and taxes haven’t been raised. too early to tell whether or not the outcome from it. hard to find bullshit from him.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:12 AM
He currently has the body of the all powerful teacher’s union stuffed and mounted on his wall. He’s keeping down taxes while finding other ways to create revenue. And he refuses to put large sources of money into things the state doesn’t need. I mean, that’s the biggest thing. He’s been an extremely strict belt tightener, except for funding a new casino.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:12 AM
*bet that
September 30th, 2011 at 9:12 AM
with nine plus percent unemployment? the old reagan “are you better off than you were four years ago” line could get resurrected.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:12 AM
if he makes it to the general election and can’t win, he won’t get the nomination in 2016.
He also doesn’t have any guarantee of even carrying NJ in the general.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:13 AM
I don’t think Christie is running either.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:13 AM
A Christie/Rubio ticket would be the toughest for Obama to beat IMO.

Just picked Minnesota in the elimination pool for this week.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:14 AM
Given that we were a bailout away from a depression four years ago at the end of a Republican administration, I don’t think that will work so well.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:14 AM
Change “kisses” to “heavily made out”; Why is the lead singer from Green Day flying Southwest? Doesn’t he have enough money to fly first class on another airline?
September 30th, 2011 at 9:14 AM
But I mean, when this place opens, and the state is pulling shitloads of money from the clubs alone, he’ll look like a genius.

September 30th, 2011 at 9:15 AM
The old “It’s not a tax, it’s a fee” method?
September 30th, 2011 at 9:15 AM
I’m glad Christie told that “Jersey Shore” 400K tax break to fuck off.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:15 AM
The players and Billy Hunter have no leverage whatsoever. It’s BOHICA time for the NBAPA.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:17 AM
Whether we like it or not, this is true.
I don’t think Christie is going to run until ’16.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:17 AM
Reason enough that he should be running the Universe. With Mama Swanson as his number 2.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:17 AM
Because he knows how to talk to both sides; a no nonsense approach to politics. There was a NY Times article last year about how he and Democrat Cory Booker worked together to get shit done in the state of NJ.
A Booker-Christie ticket would be awesome.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:17 AM
Terry would look so good in Cubbie Blue.
If he goes to Chicago it is to the White Sox. He started managing in the farm system.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:17 AM
that is some serious confidence. I know it is the Chefs and all, but on the road? ballsy. I’m honestly wondering if it is even going to be worth watching that shit-show. game is going to be ugly. hopefully I don’t have to go out of the house to watch it.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:18 AM
Just like Bob McDonnell here in Virginia. It’s such fucking bullshit. “I won’t raise your taxes but actually I will without saying so.”
September 30th, 2011 at 9:18 AM
You’re probably right. I just looked at the Dow on inauguration day…didn’t realize it was that low when he got in.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:18 AM
But that’s pretty much what happened with Carter before. He inherited a mess from Ford and made promises to get the country back on track. Never happened and Reagan capitalized.
Lots of parallels between Carter and Obama.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:18 AM
Apt choice of words to describe this game, from my perspective, because I literally fell asleep watching it on my couch.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:18 AM
One’s a Dem and the other is a Republican. So that won’t happen. Sorry.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:18 AM
The people may hate Obama, but I’m not sure any of the Flat Earthers posing as GOP candidates are going to beat him in the general election.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:19 AM
In a perfect world, this would happen.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:19 AM
James Carville has said that he would guarantee that Rubio will be the GOP VP in 2012. Yes, I know he is a Democract, but he he did call that this GOP race would come down to Romney/Perry with the GOP sticking with the safest/boring bet as they usually do (see: McCain in 2008, Dole in 1996) and he made this call back in early June before Perry was even out there trying to raise dough.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:20 AM
A summation of the articles already posted, under the guise of breaking news? Keep doing your thing, NYDN.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:20 AM
Did Carter have a bunch of borderline mreant congressmen while he was in office? Because Obama does. And it’s gotten worse.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:21 AM
Don’t remind me. Though Obama’s major military op (against Osama) didn’t fail miserably like Carter’s (trying to rescue American hostages).
September 30th, 2011 at 9:21 AM
The really just isn’t anyone compelling enough to get elected from the GOP side right now.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:21 AM
Always Sunny was slightly better than last week. haven’t been a huge fan of this season so far.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:21 AM
Yeah, don’t see how the Dems are going to maintain all of the seats they have to defend. Tester, McKaskil (sp) are going to more than likely lose. No credible challenge to the other D senator from PA, and I think Warren is going to stomp Scott Brown to take back Mass.
Morgan Stanely isn’t going to funding that place, book it.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:22 AM
It’s quite laughable to hear a lot of their points. I’m about 50/50 on Obama, but right now I can’t find many redeeming qualities in any of the GOP candidates.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:23 AM
The difference is, Ronald Reagan is not coming through that door to save the GOP.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:23 AM
there’s obviously a lot of time left for something to happen (good or bad), but the stock market is up, there is a better health care law on the books, unemployment has been stagnant, but short of making laws forcing corporations to spend their reserves of cash on employees what else can you really do for a quick fix, bin laden is dead, afghanistan and iraq are winding down, and everything that has been proposed has been given a “No” from the other side of the aisle that aren’t ashamed to say they want him to fail and have no regards for the success of the country itself.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:23 AM
well fuck, according to the 506 I am about 30 miles outside of the Vikings-Chiefs broadcast. that sucks. everyone’s favorite broadcaster is doing the game do, it could have been iconic.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:24 AM
christie will have a hard time with her in 2016.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:24 AM
It’s why the GOP VP nomination is going to go a long ways towards deciding the election. I think Obama is going to have a tough time winning if Rubio is on the ticket. But if Romney (my assumption) ends up picking someone like Pawlenty, I don’t think the GOP has a chance.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:25 AM
it was pretty good…frank was hysterical. the broken nose was awesome.

So 2012 will be the reverse 2004. People will vote for Obama simply because the GOP candidate will suck so much.

my dvr messed up so I’m not sure if I saw last weeks or this weeks episode last night, the beauty pageant one. I wasn’t very impressed by it.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:26 AM
Yep. There are also more than a few parallels between Romney and Kerry.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:27 AM

I find it hard to believe that a party that just says “no” to everything can win an election. Plus I wanna punch John Boehner in his orange face.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:28 AM
the broken nose was awesome
as was his “don’t diddle kids” song.
fat mac isn’t as funny for some reason.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:28 AM
I made the mistake of watching that election with a couple of my Democrat friends (I was a senior in high school) while hanging out at the house of one of my Republican friends. We were outnumbered like 10 to 1. I was so upset at the thought of Bush running the country for four more years.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:29 AM
Thanks.
And of course I get the late Fox game because it’s Falcons-Seahawks. Damnit!
September 30th, 2011 at 9:29 AM
Fucking Irish. Watching that game last night made me so angry. Just fucking angry.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:30 AM
My hatred for Boehner has declined as fuckface Eric Cantor has taken more of a role.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:30 AM
seems way to forced to me. it seems like they are setting up for some kind of rejuvenation type deal, but I liked it a lot better when he was showing off mad ninja skills.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:32 AM
755am tee tomorrow
745am tee Sunday
A&M is gonna gag against Arkie
Cowboys likely to fall on their face against DET
Gonna be a very mixed sports weekend for the ol’ Mint
September 30th, 2011 at 9:32 AM
They aren’t. They sold it to an investor and the state of New Jersey. Place opens up in May.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:32 AM
if the economy still hasn’t greatly improved, and there is still a gigantic divide between the upper class and vanishing middle class, she would be urged to run.
it should be interesting to see how this whole class warfare thing plays out, hard for the GOP to say they aren’t in the tank for the top 1%
September 30th, 2011 at 9:32 AM
Because Democrats were the party of “yes” from 2005-2008. This argument is nonsense. Both sides do it.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:32 AM
I’m late for the red bull discussion, but jager and red bull was a staple of mine about 5 years ago.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:33 AM
asshole…im probably rained out of golf this weekend. and it’s going to be beautiful next week. fuck fuck fuck fuck fuckkity fuck fuck fuck.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:33 AM
Glad to see the NFL’s retarded TV rules are fucking me out of HOU/PIT.
Thank god for RedZone
September 30th, 2011 at 9:33 AM
and yea…fat mac isn’t that funny.
the one with the abortion rallys was on comedy central last week…i was shocked at how funny it was compared to the last two seasons.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:33 AM
Love the Hogan pic. He’s the prototype.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:34 AM
Not like the Republicans have said no. If there were another financial crisis, this government could not do anything to salvage it because of the House Republicans flat out refusing to do anything. You’ll recall that the Dem-held House and Senate worked with the Bush administration to pull off TARP.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:34 AM
I walked 18 yesterday for summer’s last gasp. Broke a record at 102*F on the course yesterday afternoon. Paying for it today.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:35 AM
depends how long you’ve been married. if you’re married at 23, then sure. but i’d say five is low for 25-34.
is there some sort of formula or something? what if you’re in two really long term relationships before your married?
September 30th, 2011 at 9:35 AM
I dunno. I cant seem to recall a party denying everthing the other side presents. Hell, every other president was allowed to raise the debt ceiling. The whole thing just smacks of sabotaging the US for political gain.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:36 AM
I am working nights right now and an energy drink is a life saver after the 9th hour..works for me!
September 30th, 2011 at 9:36 AM
Thank god for RedZone
That’s all I watch now anyway, unless the Packers are the National game, which they are Sunday afternoon.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:36 AM
All of this. Especially when the Senate Minority Leaders is quoted as saying the GOP doesn’t want to make any deals with Obama because they don’t want him to be reelected.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:38 AM
amen brother.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:38 AM
I’m golfing up in NC this weekend in some mountain course. I’m pretty excited.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:39 AM
My wife hates it because it plays to my sports ADD (all action, no commercials), but my Harmony remote loves it because I’m not pounding back and forth between network games anymore.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:39 AM
John Paulson begging Nancy Peolosi for TARP on his knee is kind of awesome.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:39 AM
You Guys! Politicians are all scum. Just accept it. It makes your day a lot less angry. There is no savior. Obama seems like a great dude, but he alone can’t do anything when he’s got 600 dumbasses fighting beneath him.
This country is run by the rich and corporations anyway. Did anyone watch Colbert last night….? His crusade against weak campaign finance laws has been simply amazing. That guy should win 15 Emmys.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:40 AM
This is highly debatable.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:41 AM
see the debt ceiling argument. it could have been proposed a ratio of $100 in cuts for every $1 in additional revenue and they still would have said no. $1000 to $1 and it still would have been no.
Obama’s whole thing in the campaign was “yes we can”, Boehner flat out and said “Hell no we won’t” in a rebuttal.
the whole political system is broken, very few are actually looking out for the country, most are looking out for their own jobs.
first thing that needs to be done is eliminate redistricting for the purpose of maintaining the incumbent party. it should be competitive.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:41 AM
The way he’s thumbed his nose at the whole election process in this country with the formation of his own Super PAC has been amazing.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:41 AM
is there some sort of formula or something? what if you’re in two really long term relationships before your married?
then your life is boring and sucks.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:43 AM
The way he’s thumbed his nose at the whole election process in this country with the formation of his own Super PAC has been amazing.
I highly recommend everyone watch the episode from last night where he creates his own 501(c)4 (I think I might have gotten that wrong, but it’s something like that). Unlimited anonymous donations for all!
September 30th, 2011 at 9:43 AM
I love how that was done by the Kaiser company. I laughed when I saw that. I’m not saying it’s a faulty study, but I think that’s something to consider.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:43 AM
And let’s be honest, Democratic senators aren’t exactly helping Obama either.

September 30th, 2011 at 9:44 AM
I’m not seeing it. gaurenteed Petrino watched the tape from last weeks game y’all played against T Boone St. about 45 times and is ready to come out strong.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:44 AM
The sooner Nelson and Landrieu are gone from office, the better.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:44 AM
Like the time Senator Obama came out against raising the debt ceiling when Bush was in office? Both sides play the game. Get over it.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:45 AM
yeah, ask anyone who would have been dropped or denied coverage to a “pre-existing” illness if this system is better or worse.
also, showing that health insurance companies are jacking up premiums has more to do with the health insurance business than the law itself.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:45 AM
Like the time Senator Obama came out against raising the debt ceiling when Bush was in office? Both sides play the game. Get over it.
I bet you listen to Mark Belling everyday on your way home from work, yes?
September 30th, 2011 at 9:46 AM
sunny and mid-70′s here this weekend, perfect weather. also opening season of bow hunting, it’s going to be tough to choose between golf, hunting and football.
/bow hunt saturday morning.

asshole…im probably rained out of golf this weekend. and it’s going to be beautiful next week. fuck fuck fuck fuck fuckkity fuck fuck fuck.
i’m with ya, spencer. i’ve been bitter all week long b/c i know i won’t be able to play this weekend after getting rained out last weekend. if fact, there’s a good chance i’m single again after this weekend.
i’m spending all of my saturday building my current gf’s studio out, but requested that i stop by 8pm to watch the bama game. she expressed her disappointment. if there’s no golf to for me and i get shit for watching the bama game, i’m walking.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:47 AM
Here you go, Spencer. I don’t think it’s anything swanky at all, though.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:49 AM
that place looks fucking legit, not anything swanky? those views of the rolling fairways are GORGEOUS.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:49 AM
I enjoyed last night’s episode. The fat Mac stuff is getting old but I still enjoyed watching him dance around in a tight turtleneck.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:50 AM
shit, look at this view.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:50 AM
/fixed
//looks into changing constitution
September 30th, 2011 at 9:51 AM
Ha, no. I just think it is funny that one side plays politics and it’s generally ignored and the other plays it and it’s because they want to watch the world burn. This is what happens and both sides do it.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:52 AM
It’s been said all along that most of the law’s actions won’t begin to take place until 2014. In the meantime, we’ll continue to get bent by the man.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:53 AM
Husker – Nebraska have a shot this weekend?
September 30th, 2011 at 9:54 AM
Ha, no. I just think it is funny that one side plays politics and it’s generally ignored and the other plays it and it’s because they want to watch the world burn. This is what happens and both sides do it.
Ha. I just don’t waste my time with either side.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:54 AM
I have a feeling both are a tad fraudy, so the loser is definitely a fraud.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:56 AM
I have a feeling both are a tad fraudy, so the loser is definitely a fraud.
Wisconsin’s offense is most certainly legit. Their defense will scare the shit out of me until they stop a legitimate offense.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:56 AM
That is pretty nasty. I’ll be curious to see what shape the course is in.
Yeah, they have a shot, but it’s going to be damn tough. Playing average Wisconsin teams at night in Madison is tough, so I can only imagine what it’s like playing good ones. I think Wisconsin wins by 10, though. Dennard is still nursing a torn quad even though NEB says he’s healthy. All you had to do was watch the Wyoming game and see him pull up lame a couple of times to know he isn’t right. That means a redshirt freshman will be on Toon, and that fucking sucks. Neb’s LBs outside of David have been a monumental disappointment thus far.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:58 AM
Until we get a viable 3rd Party, nothing is likely to change regardless of who is in office.
While I’m no fan of Obama, I’d honestly be fine if he gets reelected as I think political gridlock is somewhat good for the country. It seems like the big mistakes happen when either side has complete control.
September 30th, 2011 at 9:58 AM
This is rich coming from a Penn State fan. I think Nebraska goes 10-2 this year. I thought that in August, though. Martinez is a guy that will take several years to learn how to be a QB, not just a runner. He’s still a ways away from being a good QB in my opinion. Nebraska has 2 freshman as their 2/3 WRs, too. They are young at some key spots this year.
September 30th, 2011 at 10:00 AM
Wisconsin wins fairly easy Saturday night but NU will get revenge in the B10 title game with a much improved and much healthier defense.
September 30th, 2011 at 10:01 AM
We will never have a viable 3rd party. See Duverger’s Law for why.
September 30th, 2011 at 10:01 AM
BTW, kudos to Wisconsin fans for not selling out and giving their tickets to Husker fans. People around here are saying this has been the toughest ticket to get that they can ever remember.
September 30th, 2011 at 10:01 AM
Until we get a viable 3rd Party, nothing is likely to change regardless of who is in office.
That’s kind of my view. I just don’t care anymore. Nothing’s going to change. I guess I kind of view Obama as a decent dude more than the republican candidates, all of whom seem soooo slimy and don’t really have any ideas other than talking points. But yeah… fuck ‘em all.
September 30th, 2011 at 10:02 AM
You and I are on the same side of the fence here. I don’t have the foggiest idea how A&M opened -3. The line should’ve been Arkie -6 from the beginning, and still inflated to -6.5 or -7 through the week. A&M has a great team, but they are so prone to being outcoached and outschemed that they will struggle against good teams.
September 30th, 2011 at 10:03 AM
BTW, kudos to Wisconsin fans for not selling out and giving their tickets to Husker fans. People around here are saying this has been the toughest ticket to get that they can ever remember.
I have a lot of friends in Madison.. they said this is by far the toughest ticket to get the last 10 years or so. Some are just going to pre-game and then watch the game in the bars. Too expensive to get inside.
September 30th, 2011 at 10:04 AM
The type of people who run for office dont want that. There are too many perks with being a career politician. You’re exempt from shit and you vote for your own raises.
/we need to just kill each other off and start all over and implement laws to protect us from our past mistakes regarding who runs this country and how they are able to do it
//just kidding about the killing part
September 30th, 2011 at 10:06 AM
I don’t see many of the retired congressmen giving up their fully paid for health insurance for life. Also a steady pension and $170k salary per year. Yeah, there needs to be some term limits and tying Congressional pay to Average household income.
September 30th, 2011 at 10:08 AM
Any big game involving Nebraska traveling in will be a tough sell. Those people have nothing outside of Nebraska football and they’ll spend a shit load of cash to get into the game.
September 30th, 2011 at 10:09 AM
Those people have nothing outside of Nebraska football and they’ll spend a shit load of cash to get into the game.
Wisky fans aren’t give up their tickets though.
September 30th, 2011 at 10:11 AM
Not sure what one has to do with the other, PSU isnt ranked in the top 10. But at least as a Nebraska fan you realize you’re going to lose to the 2 (probably 3) best teams you play.
September 30th, 2011 at 10:12 AM
Sure they aren’t. I’m not saying Nebraska is getting 20K in the building, but I suspect they’ll have around 10K there. Everyone wants to be the good fan until someone offers them $500 for their ticket.
I think they beat OSU, MSU and Michigan and slip up somewhere else.
September 30th, 2011 at 10:14 AM
I really don’t know how I feel about this game to tell you the truth. the mood around here all week has been like everyone’s dog died after that game last week. I can’t say I would be surprised to see Arkansas come out flat, especially with the early start time for the game.
September 30th, 2011 at 10:31 AM
tougher than last year’s OSU game where OSU was no. 1?
September 30th, 2011 at 10:31 AM
As this week comes to an end I’d like to give TBL a big thank you for having Jenn Brown’s breasts so prominently displayed in the header all week. Tip of the cap to you.
September 30th, 2011 at 10:34 AM
tougher than last year’s OSU game where OSU was no. 1?
Yeah… I dunno… don’t really understand it. But everything I’ve heard is that this is almost an impossible ticket. Maybe more Neb fans driving up the prices?
September 30th, 2011 at 10:37 AM
I’m sure this is why.
September 30th, 2011 at 10:43 AM
@husker
What’s with all the kids transfering out of Georgia?
September 30th, 2011 at 10:51 AM
Nebraska fans arent familiar with our fancy ways of trading money for services. Unlike their former B12 tornado bait, we dont take bags of corn for payment. Well except Iowa, bunch a pigfuckers.
September 30th, 2011 at 11:24 AM
first thing that needs to be done is eliminate redistricting for the purpose of maintaining the incumbent party. it should be competitive.
A Jersey/HeldOver admin will make this and term limits a priority.
