James Shields is a solid pitcher but the Rays management will get rid of good pitchers if they can gather more prospects and draft picks

They really have seemed to make the right moves at the right time in recent years. I’m impressed with how they’re run, and the decisions they make.

He’s been discussed in trade rumors the past 3 seasons. Also, the Rays haven’t started a pitcher 30 or older in the past 3-4 years. This is the last guaranteed year of his contract.
