Evan Longoria, We Know What You’re Up To Bro
Earlier today, Tampa Bay Rays legend Evan Longoria tweeted at Alex Morgan. It was a simple comment saying “ESPN spot is funny.” It was a nice gesture, especially considering the fact that the SportsCenter ad featuring Morgan, USA teammate Hope Solo and the Miami Dolphin was far from the upper echelon of the This is SportsCenter ad campaign. Morgan responded with a tweet congratulating Longoria on making the playoffs.
Well, I’m here to say, I see you Evan Longoria. I know what you’re up to. You tried the same thing back in July. It probably hurts that Morgan threw out the first pitch at a Royals game, while you were completing an epic comeback to make the playoffs. Is there any correlation between Longoria going into beastmode starting the same night Morgan spurned he and the Rays for Kansas City? I can’t say for sure, but I do know what Longoria is doing. The old secret courtship Twitter pal act. It’s the oldest trick in the book.

If I have to kill Longoria for Alex Morgan, then so be it. He’s a giant douche anyways.

He has to Twitter kiss ass? Does he not get pussy thrown at him daily?

All of this.

so which Rays starter will fall victim to Matt Moore taking his spot next year? Niemann? Davis? Big Game James?
September 30th, 2011 at 6:54 PM
They’ll trade Big Game James to the Red Sox for Ranaudo and prospects.

Why did you add Shields to that? That was stupid.
September 30th, 2011 at 6:57 PM
I can’t stand 90% of my family, so yeah, I’d willingly do this.

He’s been discussed in trade rumors the past 3 seasons. Also, the Rays haven’t started a pitcher 30 or older in the past 3-4 years. This is the last guaranteed year of his contract. The club has 3 options for 2012-2014 (7, 9, and 12 million respectively per year). Hell, they traded Garza before age 30 due to his salary. James Shields is a solid pitcher but the Rays management will get rid of good pitchers if they can gather more prospects and draft picks

I failed to add that Shields turns 30 in December.

It’s not like Moore came out of nowhere, if I’m not mistaken, he was their top prospect.
September 30th, 2011 at 7:05 PM
Truth.
September 30th, 2011 at 7:07 PM
Didn’t know this part, I thought he had a guaranteed year or two left. My bad.

They really have seemed to make the right moves at the right time in recent years. I’m impressed with how they’re run, and the decisions they make.
