Not just out there. I played in a tournament in Plano in April one a day when the wind was averaging about 35-40 mph, and when my 6-2, 220-lb buddy was addressing his ball on one tee, a gust of wind blew him about four feet back.

I worked at really nice course that they liked to baby in the spring.. they wouldn’t even think about opening before the first week of April, unless there was some freak heat wave at the end of March.

In Milwaukee.. You’d get a few golfable days in November.. but once thanksgiving rolled around, you’re pretty much shut in until March.. where there will be maybe one nice weekend.

same in La Crosse. I don’t even think they open the courses from Nov-Feb., and usually it’s into March.

we don’t even get that. ive golfed until mid-nov the past few seasons and started in late march/early apri. can’t golf between those times tho.

if we had tolerable and 45*, id be out there every day.

Yeah, the biggest problem isn’t the temp as much as it is the muck you have to play in.

That really only hits us hard in Jan and Feb. But even during those months, it get up into the 50′s and sometimes 60′s and is obviously manageable out there.

i feel like if i really want to get good at golf, i need to move back to texas…this aint helping.

excuse my ignorance, but is there snow on the ground pretty much Nov-March in the Cleve? or are the courses/practice facilities even open for that one weekend a month where the weather is bearable? or do y’all not even get that?

Cart fees and dining minimums were always the main deterrent for me at the Lawrence clubs.

yeah, the place I am looking at has no dining, and cart fee’s and range balls included for $190/month. they also own several other courses where you pay cart fee’s only.

the winter is what’s making me hesitant…$200/mo for four months of ungolfable weather.

I just turned 30 this month and got a sweet bday card from my club. The next day, I got notification that my dues were also going up because of my membership plan.
