Anyone has a chance… Bedard is decent and at least has swing and miss stuff, but for a good lineup, they seem to take random games off against mediocre pitcher. I could see them beating Verlander, than scoring 1-2 runs a game against Fister and Scherzer

Eh… it’s possible, and it’d be nice, but that lineup is so hot/cold right now, and if the playoffs started tomorrow, it would be Jon Lester, then Kyle Weiland and his 6.75 ERA as the second most reliable starter they have right now. So…. yeah, might be worth trying to get health and get a WC spot, and not push Bedard/Beckett back from injury too quickly to try to win the division.

I know I’m way late to the game on this, but I knew this incident would get blown way out of proportion today. Here’s my take: Morgan is a mouthy punk, Carpenter is like a grumpy old man yelling at kids to keep off his lawn – those two guys were bound to have an incident. Pujols saw that the situation might be escalating, so he ran in to defend his pitcher (nothing out of the norm there). For once, LaRussa had nothing really to do with this situation.

Much ado about nothing, really.
