Baylor Upsets TCU 50-48 in Instant Classic.
The game of this season…of any season. Baylor led 47-23 to start the fourth quarter, surrendered 25 unanswered points to TCU to go behind 48-47, clawed their way back to take a 50-48 lead with a field goal and sealed the upset with an interception in the dying moments to keep TCU out of field goal range. 13 touchdowns. 1,030 yards of total offense. Waco hasn’t seen this intense of a shootout since…well…let’s not go there.
Robert Griffin III elevated himself from Heisman dark-horse to Heisman candidate. He went 21/27 for 359 yards and five touchdowns against the remnants of a defense ranked No. 1 in the country for three consecutive years. Huge win for Baylor who came into the game 3-51 against ranked opponents since the Big 12 formed. Nice statement win for the Big 12 which, for the moment, still exists.
This is TCU’s first regular season loss since Utah beat them 13-10 in Nov. 2008. Probably a rebuilding year for the Horned Frogs on defense, but credit Baylor’s offense,

It was an amazing game, glad I didn’t switch over to the US-Costa Rica game until it was over.
Duffy – I know the start of college football is a huge deal (look at my user name), but no Onion Bag in a week where both Manchester clubs go off on North London, Drogba gets knocked unconscious + Juan Mata’s English debut, the transfer window closes and the USA has a game? You make me sad.

One of those college fb games that was extremely entertaining but probably not all that memorable/important in the long run. The great thing about cfb is these games happen pretty much every week, but based on this game it looks like TCU is likely in for a bit of a down year, and Baylor probably is still Baylor.

Baylor just absolutely shit themselves in the 4th quarter. That comeback was based on the 3 Baylor offensive plays after TCU scored to make it 47-31. They went completely conservative, ended up 3 and out, punted, and got scored on again in 90 seconds. TCU couldn’t have stopped Baylor with 14 guys as long as Baylor was playing offense.
/Losing 27 seniors is a big deal for anyone
//TCU now looks like a Big East team with that scoreline and defense.

Sauce for the goose.
You’re up late, Duffy. Been out late drinking beer with Brett Favre?
/TCU: One less annoying non-BCS bitch fest we won’t have to listen to.

Oh, and Rev. Lovejoy and Rod Roddy are crushed tonight.
/TCU alums in mourning.
//Especially Roddy, who’s been dead for eight years.

one of those nights where you are so tired you pass out around 10 … wake up at 2 to drain the main vein and check the phone to see if Baylor +4 hit.
YEAH!

I’m still partial to Northwestern 54, Michigan 51 in 2000 which all happened in regulation…game was absurd and all sorts of fun (and lest we forget, Muck Fichigan)

surrendered 25 unanswered points to TCU
they were consecutive points. They were in no way unanswered points. They were scored to answer points that Baylor had already scored.
