Cedric Benson Will Spend the Bengals’ Bye Week in Jail
Cedric Benson, the starting running back of the Cincinnati Bengals, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge and was sentenced to 20 days in jail. Assistant Travis County Attorney Corby Holcomb – what a great Texas name that is – said Benson will probably only spend a week in jail due to good behavior. Why’s Benson going to jail in the first place? From the Statesman:
According to an arrest affidavit, Benson (at right) got into a fight with an unknown person at the bar at about 1:50 a.m. on May 30, 2010, which was a Sunday morning. The affidavit said Benson suffered a bloody lip in the fight and shoved a bar manager because he wanted to continue the scuffle.
After Benson was “verbally aggressive” with bar staff, he was escorted out, the affidavit said.
Outside the bar, Benson told a bystander “all these white boys are ganging up on me and kicking me out,” the affidavit said.
According to an affidavit, bar employee Bryan White then told Benson: “I’m going to take time out of my busy job to kick you out?”
Benson then punched White in the face, the affidavit said.
As much change as there’s been in Cincinnati this year, the Bengals still haven’t purged the roster of all the toxic clowns. That’ll happen when Benson is jettisoned.

I don’t understand this question.

Screw that. Why does he get to wait until his bye week?
If I got sentenced to jail for a bar fight could I say, “Well, judge. This week’s really bad for me. I have tickets to the LSU game”?

Did he really say it like that? I’ve hated the fake Ricky Williams for a long time but this Bryan White fellow might have deserved the punch to the face

I imagine Bryan White sounding like the honey badger guy

said Benson will probably only spend a week in jail due to good behavior.
Pretty bold assumption given the fact that he got arrested for punching someone in the face, no?

As a matter of fact. Yes. Yes you can. I got a calendar to circle out which days I wanted to go in. The judge does this.

Seems like it’ll be good… provided the soundtrack isn’t what is in the clip. I know everyone hates Belichick, but dude loves football, and the history of the game, and seems like a pretty good/funny (read: sarcastic) guy.

I think it was 5 or 6 years ago, but he was one of the analyst during the 10 hour pregame show during the super bowl. I was blown away of how interesting he actually was when he isn’t doing a press conference. Dude does seem to have a personalitiy, but doesn’t want to show it.
I still hate him.

So, Cedric Benson’s the bizarro Jordan Jefferson?

If I got sentenced to jail for a bar fight could I say, “Well, judge. This week’s really bad for me. I have to play quarterback in the LSU game”?
Doug Moreau might buy that.

The fuck outta here. The only people I want “jettisoned” out of Cincy are the ones not good at football.
August 29th, 2011 at 7:59 PM
Umm, yes? I’ve never been to jail but I thought that was common knowledge.

Wait, Jose, you don’t want Toxic Clowns jettisoned out of Cincinnati? Toxic Clowns are the scariest thing in the universe. It was scientifically proven recently.
