L.A. Riot Avoided: Vin Scully Will Return For 63rd Season
The day after people found out that Vin Scully was being evaluated by the Dodgers, Scully announced that he would return for a 63rd season as the voice of the organization. Scully made the announcement on-air last night during the Dodgers’ 6-1 win over the Rockies.
“God’s been awfully good to me, allowing me to do the things I love to do,” Scully said on the telecast. “I asked him one more year, at least, and he said OK.”
The Dodgers issued a news release soon after, confirming the 83-year-old Hall of Fame broadcaster would be back. The team said Scully would again call all home and select road games.
With the reaction that post got from just non-Dodger fans, I think its safe to say Frank McCourt would have more to worry about than Larry David buying cookies from his daughter. If baseball fans in general are so in love with Scully, the residents of Los Angeles must look at this man like a surrogate father.

“God’s been awfully good to me, allowing me to do the things I love to do.”
And yet he makes you work for Frank McCourt? I don’t think that’s God you’ve been talking with, Vin.
