I guess if you’re looking for K’s, he’s been alright, but going from watching his every start and not worrying about fantasy #’s, he’s looked like crap in over half of his starts.

Our league values Ks, wins, and ERA, and to a lesser extent WHIP. My ERA is kind high for the league, but my WHIP is in the top 3 or 4. So Liriano has been a good value for me, especially considering I was going to dump him just a couple of months ago.

Most of my really good pitchers were autodrafted, so I can’t take too much credit for them. But on the offensive side, I picked up Alex Avila, Alex Gonzales, Melky Cabrera, Todd Helton, Jonathan Lucroy and Cameron Maybin in free agency. I feel pretty smart after those pick ups.

Liriano has been pretty decent this summer.

I guess if you’re looking for K’s, he’s been alright, but going from watching his every start and not worrying about fantasy #’s, he’s looked like crap in over half of his starts. I can only think of his one start against Texas where he actually looked really good (and he happened to have better stuff then compared to his no-no).

A lot of hits, a lot of walks, and a high ERA.

I know stark. Hamels is on the DL through Sunday and Liriano just got added, and so I’m struggling to scrape together a staff for the last month of the season after coasting for most of the year.

I also have had some pretty shitty guys too: I finally cut Ted Lilly loose in June or early July (can’t remember exactly when). In addition to dropping Garcia yesterday, I also dropped Kyle McLellan. I took a flyer on Jordan Lyles and that proved to be a less than smart idea. Bud Norris gives me good strikeout numbers, but he’s had several wins turned into NDs by the Astros bullpen. Liriano has been pretty decent this summer. I nearly dumped him shortly after he returned from the DL in the early part of the season, but I decided to stick with him and it’s paid dividends.

My pitching staff is actually pretty good. I have Hamels, Greinke, Carpenter, Ian Kennedy, James Shields, Alexi Ogando, and Jordan Zimmerman among others. I’m first in the league in wins and strikeouts (by nearly 300 in the case of strikeouts). In second place overall in a 10 team league.
