Maybe the New York Times couldn’t get the rights for the original photographs they desired to accompany a feature article about rivalries in tennis. I suppose that’s a possibility. The New York Times couldn’t afford or didn’t want to pay for some of the most iconic photographs in tennis history. You never know. Whatever the reason, Andy Samberg did a photo shoot for the New York Times as some of the greatest tennis players to ever swing a racket.
