Soccer Brawl: Argentine Players Attack Referee, Chase Him Out of Stadium.
Argentines take their soccer seriously. This is from an Argentine U-17 match between Union San Guillermo and Atletico Tostado. Not quite sure what the dispute was about. Pretty sure it didn’t warrant the entire team, and coaches attacking the referee and forcing him to flee the grounds and hurdle a fence to safety. My favorite part is definitely the goalkeeper picking up the ball and beaning the ref in the head. [Video via 101GG]

From the looks of those punches I think the fence was a bigger danger to that ref than the attackers

This kind of stuff happens in south american football ALL THE TIME. This and players starting fights after losing the game. Shameful, really.

They should all be suspended for 2 years. The coaches should be banned indefinitely.

i hope at least one person rewads this since i’m so late
on a language immersion vacation in oaxaca mexico, me and some classmates befriended a local kid. he invited us to his soccer team’s game one morning, and i was the only one to make it.
he was hurt, but came into the game late and for extra time. it was like a rec league. anyway, near the end, there’s a brawl, and one payer was chased by two others all over the field, out of bounds, way off the grounds and in the chase one of the chasers picked up a huge chunk of concrete to use when they caught up. i didn;t see it thrown but i heard it was.
game finished, and we drank Sol at like 10 a.m.
