Dennis Rodman Will Be Outrageous At The Hall of Fame Induction
The 2011 Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony is coming up on Friday. The Class of 2011 includes Tex Winter, Arvydas Sabonis, Chris Mullin and Dennis Rodman. Unsurprisingly, Dennis Rodman has big plans for his induction. From the Miami Herald:
Dennis Rodman told us Tuesday he will arrive at his Basketball Hall of Fame induction Friday by helicopter. He wanted to enter the Hall on a colorful float, “but they wouldn’t let me block off the street” in Springfield, Mass.
Simple. Understated. That’s Dennis Rodman.
He said he will hire acrobats to perform and “a couple of my outfits will be ‘out there.’ Whatever might be too zany is not too zany.”
All quite necessary. One final look-at-me performance by one of the greatest rebounders in NBA history.
His marketing agent, Floyd Ragland, said Rodman is spending $60,000 to fly in Penny Marshall, Howard Stern and other friends. Phil Jackson is Rodman’s presenter.
Penny Marshall? Whatever, dude. They must buy clothes at the same stores.

She’s a big basketball fan. She used to be, maybe still is, a Clippers season ticket holder.

isn’t he broke?

He couldn’t lose the act just once? What a douche.
August 10th, 2011 at 4:28 PM
Exactly.
His whole act is just tiresome.

Arvydas Sabonis? I guess they are taking his international career into account too.

Love the worm (and his act).

How many basketball hall of fames are there?
Halls of Fame is the correct plural form.

Greatest rebounder I’ve ever seen. Love the guy, but I doubt he’s ever expected to still be alive at this point.

Not enough.

The NCAA is looking at ways to simplify rules and, my favorite part, come up with tougher penalties.
I think the NCAA has honestly forgotten that Article 19 still exists.

why wouldn’t they?

He is going to be soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo high for this.
August 10th, 2011 at 4:38 PM
why wouldn’t they?
There are some people would argue that you shouldn’t. I’m not saying they are right, only that these people exist.

Halls of Fame is the correct plural form.
Just like RBI, not RBIs.

Phil Jackson presenting Rodman is going to be awesome. Rodman doesn’t make much sense when he cries, and he cries quite a bit, so this speech is going to be cringe worthy and unintentionally hilarious. Can’t wait.

Also, this gives me a chance to bring up that I loved Rodman’s autobio.

Couldn’t agree more.
