Amazon UK’s Aluminum Baseball Bat Sales Skyrocketing During London Riots
With the London riots in their fourth night of pointless madness and destruction (youths seem to have lost the original message of the man getting shot), people could possibly be turning to Amazon UK to buy tools of destruction. Right now, 8 of the top 10 “Movers and Shakers” in Sports and Leisure are baseball bats. The other two are a currently unavailable telescopic police stick and a tent.
The “Telescopic Tonfa” is only moving about 50,000% more units than it was 24 hours ago. Amazon UK seems to have at least taken that item off their website. The bats are all up between 1,900 and 24,000% (and climbing). As you can see from the screen grab, those numbers have skyrocketed in just the last hour. Unless they’re getting read for the World Baseball Classic, they might want to stop selling those for now.

That’s a bit disconcerting.

Best investment? The wooden bat then buy a nail. Hammer that nail through the bat and let the carnage begin!

I feel they’re missing a great opportunity to bring cricket to the rest of the world’s attention.

This is like some Janoff post minus a section telling me how this effects Jeter’s marketshare.

the best part is the fact the delivery truck will either be knocked over and set ablaze while the bats stolen before they can be delivered, or if the guy went with super saver shipping he’d likely get the bat after the riots stopped.

I remember when I worked construction just how dangerous these lil fuckers are. Stepping on one is rather painful.
