Shannon Sharpe and Deion Sanders Hall of Fame Speeches
All, Hall of Fame, NFL August 7th. 2011, 12:30pm
A new class was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame last night. Shannon Sharpe took the opportunity to plead Sterling Sharpe’s case to the Hall of Fame voters. Sterling caught 595 passes and 65 touchdowns in 7 seasons.
Deion took a chance to thank everyone he ever met. He was wearing an Under Armor emblem on his jacket, proving that no occasion, no matter how solemn, is an opportunity to sell tight t-shirts.

I hate the way they have turned the HOF ceremony into a hierarchy where only certain players matter and are covered

Deion’s bust = nightmare fuel
That thing is SCARY looking. I liked Shannon’s speech. Especially when he’s talking about Sterling.

The only way Sterling could get in is if they used the Gale Sayers logic but then you probably have to let in Terrell Davis and fuck Terrell Davis so unfortunately I say he’ll have to remain out

I took a look at Sterling’s numbers, Shannon, and you’re right, they are pretty damn good for seven seasons.

Few receivers were ever as fast and strong as him (TO comes to mind), Deion was being interviewed earlier in the week talking about how he had to be a physical corner as well despite not being given credit for it…he said he had to be able to match the physicality of Irvin, the speed/route-running of Rice and then said “also Sterling Sharpe who had both”, high praise coming from that man

I don’t watch the speeches, just like I don’t watch the Oscars. “Honoring” and “letting someone bore me for fifteen minutes” are not the same thing.

Despite his shortened career, sterling had more td catches than Shannon. If he had stayed healthy, he and favre might have blown up the record books.

Deion is still a dick. Ego-centric jackoff.
