The Phillies & Giants Brawl in What’s Quickly Become Baseball’s Best New Rivalry
The Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants met in the NLCS last season and often times, as we’ve seen with so many other teams, familiarity brings contempt, particularly when you are both chasing the same thing. Well in Philly’s thumping of the World Champs last night, Ramon Ramirez threw at Shane Victorino in a pretty obvious manner — the score at the time was 8-2 — but things may not have been escalated to such an absurd degree had Giants catcher Eli Whiteside not jumped up and down in front of Victorino in such a Cobra Kai, “so what you gonna do bitch” manner.
It was certainly a new approach for a catcher. Rarely do they play the role of gasoline in these situations, but Whiteside did a wonderful job in encouraging mass chaos and confusion.
If you’re a Phillies fan, your level of love for Victorino has very likely reached ridiculous new heights after watching him escape the ump’s clutches and dart towards the center of the pile for one more go like Chuck Cecil after 10 shots of Jameson.
It’s always a delicious setting when two clubs so clearly hate one another, so it’s an absolute must that these two teams meet in the playoffs.

This also furthers the “Brian Wilson is a total facade” theory. Guy was standing on the periphery the entire time.

is that the world’s largest rugby scrum? for the final fucking time, baseball should change its rules to hockey rules. you got a probelm with a guy, it’s one on one until it goes to the ground and anyone else who tries to help is suspended a game
tired of these lame-ass baseball fights. about 1 in 10 is any good

Moreover, the probability is the same that it deteriorates into some “Jonny Cueto is kicking somebody in the fact like a pussy” kind of catfight.

Victorino did shit nothing in that clip. Someone needs to pull an Izzy Alcantara on that catcher.

Apparently the catcher has never seen a baseball fight before. Victorino didn’t really aggressively move to fight and everyone else on the Phillies just seemed to be coming over to put the fire out. The guy he tried to tackle was barely even walking. Ramirez also threw his glove down and came jogging in even though it seemed pretty obvious the ump was going to usher Victorino down to first.
/D-backs will win the division

that fight looked like there was about 60 to 70 Kevin Garnetts on the field

Huh? The “facade” of Brian Wilson is that of a goofy wingnut…not as a tough-guy fighter.

The “facade”, as in, there’s a lot less there — even in terms of personality — than he’s portraying or that people are giving him credit for (it’s just a theory). Wouldn’t you expect the goofiest wingnut on the team to be right in the middle of this (Nyjer Morgan)?

Well, the comments are closed on the 10 basketball wasted talents thing and I can’t comment for some reason on the Jimmer thing but I had to point out that TBL is racist towards Tracy McGrady:
But the work ethnic was never there

This makes absolutely no sense.
This would truly be a tragedy for baseball. Everyone is better off with less of that gimmick of a franchise.
