Excellent post. Only thing you forgot to mention is that King is a complete blowhard fool. Schefter is better…..but not by much.

I agree with every word. This is a really great post. It helps put the concept of Twitter in perspective. The whisper game is the perfect analogy. Twitter is the height of narcissism. I’ll never have a Twitter account. The last thing I want to be known for or judged by are my off-hand comments and out-of-context remarks, which is what the content of Twitter is primarily comprised of.

si_vault is the most invaluable Twitter follow, IMO. I can’t believe only 21,000 follow him. So much great stuff.

agreed. I’m up to about 300, but not all active at the same time–some college basketball guys, who are mostly silent now, some personal ones that rarely tweet, some football, and a decent amount of commenters and random people just to get some flavor. But when it’s busy or something notable is happening, my phone will go back like 20 minutes and have a ton of tweets. I probably need to organize lists better.

Made the mistake, again, of flipping on ESPN radio last week. Mike and Mike, even. In one rambling sentence, Greenberg used the ridiculous nickname of “Schefty” at least 5 times. I actually screamed at the radio.
