with middle school girls. That’s the part that made it illegal.

Such a troubled life. He was sexually molested as a child, his sister was killed by a drunk driver at the age of 5, and he watched a friend commit suicide a few years ago.

I hope the Braves lose 19 in a row. Penance.

Thank you very much Tampa Bay Buccanneers management for being cheap, even in a season when you are forced to spend most of the 59 million you’re below the cap.

Went to U2′s 360 show last night at Heinz – it was awesome. The stage/lighting was a spectacle in itself. Here was the setlist:
Main Set: Even Better Than the Real Thing, The Fly, Mysterious Ways, Until the End of the World – Anthem, I Will Follow, Get On Your Boots, I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For – The Promised Land, Stay, Beautiful Day – Space Oddity, Elevation, Pride, Miss Sarajevo, Zooropa, City of Blinding Lights, Vertigo – Two Hearts Beat As One, Miss You – I’ll Go Crazy (remix) – Discotheque – Psycho Killer – Life During Wartime – Please, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Scarlet, Walk On
Encore(s): One, Hallelujah – Where The Streets Have No Name, Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me, With Or Without You, Moment Of Surrender, Bad – In The Garden – Walk On The Wild Side – 40

this recently-killed Mountain Lion traveled from South Dakota to Connecticut
i’m surprised the story says it’s one of the longest journies ever recorded. mountain lions once occupied a large portion of north america and canada. 1500 miles doesn’t seem like it’d be that long.

I think you misunderstand. Whey occupied all those parts of North America, there were a great many of them.
How is 1500 miles not a great distance for anything that walks?

Wide mix of everything. The family in front of us was a dad/mom about 40ish with two sons (I’m guessing they were about 8 and 6). I was very proud of the dad when he woke the 6 year old up for the encore of Where the Streets Have No Name so he didn’t miss it.

Who wants to help suggest a UFA strong side LB the Bears should target that fits Lovie’s cover 2? Nick Roach apparently doesn’t want to return as a b/u. Now we have 0 strong side LBs.
July 27th, 2011 at 8:51 AM

How is 1500 miles not a great distance for anything that walks?
b/c forest gump watered that number down by continuously running back and forth across the country. excuse me if i’m not impressed by a healthy mountain lion who never wore metal leg braces walked 1500 miles…

/fuck the Skins
July 27th, 2011 at 8:53 AM
Way better than I expected (and way better than PNC Park was for the Rolling Stones). Typically, the stage apparently goes right in the middle of the field. But, since Heinz doesn’t have much seating at the south end zone (nearest the river) the slid the stage toward that end, but still had the 360 degree ramps around the stage. I’m guessing the band just didn’t use that area as much as normal, but they definitely did some “laps”.
The stage is a monstrousity – it took up about half the field and extends over 150 feet in the air vertically.
I really thought the “steep” sides of Heinz did a nice job of keeping the acoustics reasonable.
July 27th, 2011 at 8:54 AM
No. Because he doesn’t fit there and would hamstring the Jets for years cap wise. I think most people, except New England “fans”, would be thrilled if the Jets bungled that. You’ve already got Revis and a issue retaining your skill position talent money wise on offense. NA going there only screws your offense more.
July 27th, 2011 at 8:54 AM
James Anderson. Only one that comes to mind. But he’s going to, and should, cost you.
July 27th, 2011 at 8:54 AM
yeah, something seems weird about that. I know a lot of game and fish people don’t like to acknowledge mountain lions existence, at least down here. people report seeing them from time to time, but the game and fish people say there aren’t any in the state.
July 27th, 2011 at 8:55 AM
run a 5-2.
against the run in madden.
July 27th, 2011 at 8:55 AM
Apparently you can’t hold out past August 22nd, or else you lose a year of accrued time, so any holdout won’t go past that point. And they aren’t connected. The Eagles are somewhere between $15-$18 mil under the cap.
July 27th, 2011 at 8:56 AM
Lovie’s 5-2 would probably involve Israel Idonije dropping into coverage. While that would be funny to watch, I could only laugh so long at it.

If I were a Jets fan, I’d want my FO to make moves that help balance my offense more than assist an already dominant defense. Isn’t the only real hole to fill at DT for the Jets?
July 27th, 2011 at 8:59 AM
The way I figure, it’s most likely going to go down like this: Nnamdi signs some weird deal where he gets paid for three years. Santonio as well. The biggest thing is Nnamdi meaning he’ll come to NY for less dough. Sanchez reorganizes some decent amount of money in his 4th or 5th year and and that puts him right around the time extension talks start. That puts them at a window of 3, 4 years MAX to have a bunch of good players on their team. I’ll take that for now and deal with the fallout later. Like I bet a bunch of other teams would.

July 27th, 2011 at 9:02 AM
Offense is balanced. Offensive line returns, just replacing Damien Woody with the serviceable Wayne Hunter. They’ll rotate players at DT like last year and hope the dlinemen that they drafted can pick up quickly. Sign Santonio, get lucky with Nnamdi, and everything else will fall into place. Again, that still resolves around getting lucky with Nnamdi. And if that drives up the price on Nnamdi and he goes somewhere else, having Cromartie as a fallback option ain’t too shabby.
July 27th, 2011 at 9:03 AM

It’s apparently nicknamed the “claw”. They reportedly have 3 of them that leapfrog in front of them during the tour because it takes at least 4 days to setup.
July 27th, 2011 at 9:04 AM
How much less money is less money? Several million dollars per year? Four million less than Revis is still a huge, huge number.
July 27th, 2011 at 9:04 AM
nnamdi fits the jets perfectly…he’s not as physical with bump and run like revis is, but nnamdi’s long arms allow him to get his hands on WR’s regardless. he’d fit the jets perfectly.

You even read the article? Because Leighton Meester is suing her mom, not the other way around, as you present it.
I’ve seen em at 3 venues on the 360 stage (old Giants, Linc, FedEx) and they were all in end-zone. Haven’t heard of a single venue where the stage was in the middle of the field.
Also…you got a treat with “Bad”….that’s the first time they’ve played it on the 2011 leg of the tour.

Tampa is terrible at bidding wars. They seem to have quit almost immediately. I will speculate that the biggest part of Dallas’s offer was the agreement that Free would keep the LT job, so that when this contract ends, he can get another one as a free agent LT. Tampa only had RT open.
July 27th, 2011 at 9:09 AM

July 27th, 2011 at 9:11 AM
Spence, if you’re NA, wouldn’t you rather play in the NFC where your chances of even getting to the Super Bowl are greater? If he goes to Dallas, he can make more money and have a better shot at winning because the playoff slate isn’t as tough as the meat grinder AFC.
I just think it makes too much sense not to go to Dallas. If he wants to act after football, it’s not like Jerry Jones doesn’t know people in Hollywood. The whole acting angle is as dumb as LeBron needing to go to NY to “be more marketable.”
July 27th, 2011 at 9:11 AM

July 27th, 2011 at 9:21 AM
jersey, if somebody offers Nmandi 16 million per (which is what he was making, and since that’s revis money, it’s a pretty reasonable assessment of market value) how much less do you think he should take for the privilege of playing for the Jets?
5 million less? Do you think his agent would let him sign for 5 million less?
Because he’ll be dealing with offers. Several offers. And somebody might buy him an acting coach to travel with the team, or sign three guys who love improv to the practice squad.

July 27th, 2011 at 9:28 AM
damn, how much would tickets run to be in the inner circle part of the stage? assuming they can even be bought by the public?
July 27th, 2011 at 9:28 AM
Maybe kids and their parents eat dinner first, then all the adults without kids who would like a peaceful meal eat second. We could switch up the order every day.
July 27th, 2011 at 9:28 AM
It’s been a long time since someone got banned, so maybe it’s time. However, I care far too less about Michigan football to make harmless jokes that bother no one, so I probably won’t get banned.
Kids behaving badly in a place like an airplane can be annoying. But I’m not a non-contributing, whiny, zero, so I don’t do things like go to my blog to complain about them when in reality it doesn’t affect me once I’m off that plane.
July 27th, 2011 at 9:29 AM
Disirregardless of who fronts the money, it’s the fans who shoulder it.
July 27th, 2011 at 9:29 AM
Does Nmandi play WR, because last I checked the Jets needed a couple of those before they go throwing 12+ million a year at a CB.
So good parents with good kids must suffer? A small percentage of certain minorities are loud in the theater, should we start banning all of them too?
July 27th, 2011 at 9:29 AM
I can get behind this too.

movement so some hipsters can have a quiet meal
Hipsters usually have the worst kids! They are usually so engrossed in their Iphones to notice that their little shit is tired of eating his tofu eggs and organic milk and is now running around the joint.
July 27th, 2011 at 9:31 AM
So pretty much all of us had the fear of God put into us at one point or another by the old man when we misbehaved, right?
July 27th, 2011 at 9:32 AM
Can we start a movement to get rid of the hipsters? That would be even better than any other movement.
July 27th, 2011 at 9:32 AM
Well then …
I think it’s more of the vibe/behavior I get from some parents that they’re not even trying to deter the annoyance the kid is clearly causing everyone. It’s as if they’re saying, “I can ignore it, why can’t you?”

No thats not necessary. If you go see a Tyler Perry movie thats your problem.
July 27th, 2011 at 9:36 AM
Seriously. I cant imagine what wouldve happened if I caused a scene in public as a child. I was scared of getting the belt. Its the stupid parents who do not even try to keep their kids in line who are causing this movement.

Still, 2 days in a row, just sounds lazy.
for fuck’s sake, since when does someone have too be industrious on a blog commenting area?
July 27th, 2011 at 9:37 AM
I mean, sure. Some people suck. But if a kid throws a tantrum, ignoring it is a legitimate strategy.
I’ve never been out to a meal, date, wherever and had someone else’s kids ruin it for me. I’m sure it’s happened to some people, but if they said it happened “all the time” I’d call bullshit. There aren’t that many inconsiderate parents bringing there kids to 8pm meals at nice restaurants. That “movement”, or whatever it is, is typical in that it’s people complaining because they have little else they want to do.
July 27th, 2011 at 9:37 AM
My mom’s signature move was the nails on the forearm. She’d grasp your arm, then dig the nails in and speak to you through her teeth. That’s when you know you had crossed the line and she wasn’t fucking around anymore.

July 27th, 2011 at 9:38 AM
When my sisters and I were younger my mom had a nice little move where she yanked your arm just enough to make it feel like it was going to separate from your shoulder. You then followed meekly behind her in the mall/grocery store/public place.

Yet every time I make a comment about not liking kids, you get all huffy and defensive. You ignore the 10 other people who agree with my opinion. I’m not sure why you got so pissed that I commented about screaming kids on planes, like, 3 months ago when someone else brought it up. I have an iPod and noise-cancelling headphones specifically for these instances. My annoyance doesn’t affect you. You are fully capable of ignoring my comments.

July 27th, 2011 at 9:41 AM
I think you’re right in that you only notice the annoying times, not the countless times when kids are being just fine around you. Maybe I just want to see a parent trying to defuse the situation rather than ignoring it, but as a non-parent I can’t related to what they’re experiencing.

Sure, today. All I said was I was for the new movement of banning kids at certain establishments. You’re acting like made a comment that said I’m all for mass torture of parents and their kids.
You mentioned there are very few parents who take their kids to dinner at 8pm at a nice restaurant. You must not live in a big city. I see kids under 4 out with their parents as late as 10pm here.

July 27th, 2011 at 9:55 AM
The worst ones are the ones that bring their kids to places with outdoor seating and just let them run wild outside. I went to Big Star (used to be Pontiac Cafe in Wicker, right under the Damen Blue Line) a few weeks ago and this family of 6 comes in. Two of the kids are well behaved while the other two are just running around through all the seating.
Parents just sat and enjoyed their meal. I wanted to stick my leg out the next time one of them ran by my table.

This is total crap. There’s no reason kids 4 and under should be out at this time. I’ll take my kids out for dinner no later than 6:30, and they’re pretty well behaved. They’re usually in bed by 8:30. Kids need 10 hours for a healthy sleep.

Actually, I think that might be the whole list…

No drinking or no drunking? Being single in the summer, hard time to go completely off the alcohol.
drinking, but for reasons you just stated it turned into no drunking.

i saw expendables in theaters twice. it was better the 2nd time.
July 27th, 2011 at 10:30 AM
I saw it twice in theaters, too. Two separate dates. I think I got an awkward boner the first time that Kate Winslet got naked. I was ready for it the 2nd time. Focused the Chi.
July 27th, 2011 at 10:30 AM

July 27th, 2011 at 10:30 AM

I’ve seen way too many movies more than 2 times in theatres. I also went to the movies alot during college when I could get in for $6 using my college ID.

Did you pick up some candles from Bed Bath and Beyond to deal with the smell?
July 27th, 2011 at 10:35 AM
I was dragged to Titanic at the $1 theater. That was enough.
July 27th, 2011 at 10:36 AM
Did you pick up some candles from Bed Bath and Beyond to deal with the smell?
nope, i’m a yankee candle kinda pussy.
July 27th, 2011 at 10:36 AM
I’m usually the same way. I was a little obsessed with Jurassic Park. I saw Titanic twice because I had a friend who hadn’t seen it yet and wanted to go. The Dark Knight I saw when it came out in the summer and then again when they did a second showing at the IMAX in October.
July 27th, 2011 at 10:37 AM
I thought every teenage girl was gaga for Leo because of this movie. What do you mean, dragged?
July 27th, 2011 at 10:37 AM
BB&B sells Yankee Candle.
/shoots self for knowing that
July 27th, 2011 at 10:39 AM
you’re not a fan of rewatching to see little details you missed the first time around?
i re-watched “tears of the sun” just to see if i wasn’t crazy after noticing the admiral’s watch telling drastically different times during an editied/multi-cut scene where he’s talking to bruce willis thru a satellite phone.
it was very rewarding.

Ill, I found some really good candles at Target that are near the Yankee Candle section. I don’t know the brand, but they come in silver canisters and have green or red checkered labels. My favorite scent is the mint basil. It’s really clean and fresh. I highly recommend.

July 27th, 2011 at 10:50 AM
word. I always buy my wife one of the big Yankee Candle jars for every present-giving holiday/event. I secretly enjoy when she lights them.

when the not yet born baby starts shitting human feces into his plastic pants, you’ll thank me for the yankee candle odor eliminating candles I sent as a shower gift.

Much less than yankee. You can get a large 3-wick canister for $10. All of their scents are nature based (like mint basil or lilac or lemon).
July 27th, 2011 at 10:53 AM

Mrs. Miz (annoyed) – “Aside from the Yankee Candle he gets me for every birthday and holiday?”

July 27th, 2011 at 11:17 AM
the surprise is the random present. the iced beverage glass will come with each event until we have the 16 she would like to have. and she loves the candles. my problem is it’s hard keeping the secret from my wife about what else I’m getting her. it’s not like she sleuths around to figure it out. she just tricks me into giving her hints. there’s only been three things I’ve gotten her that I was able to keep 100% secret.
