Stark … I got Dish out here in SoCal and for the most part I’m happy with it. The deal with Fox was awhile ago, and I get all the Fox channels now no problem.

Comcast used to have the Dallas cable market. But they traded with Time Warner about 4 years ago. Time Warner gave Houston to Comcast in return.

After the switchover, Time Warner started slowly taking away channels from me. By the time I left my apartment, which faced north and thus could not have a satellite dish according to the rules of the complex, and moved in with my girlfriend last May, I basically had ESPN and ESPN 2, the four major news cable channels, the local channels, MTV, History Channel, TLC, Discovery Channel and then a whole bunch of other religious, spanish, and shopping channels which I never used.

FIOS is pretty expensive, at least as an internet provider. But AT&T has a bad habit of not actually delivering the speeds they advertise, in my habit (and in the opinion of the court who decided against them in that class-action suit)

i’m amped about Uverse. After having FIOS for 6 months, I couldnt go back to cable. Uverse is so similar to FIOS in terms of channels and whatnot, but I really liked that I could pick my internet speed too. it’s also cheaper than FIOS,

I’ve never had any problems with the signal from DirecTV but the customer service has been annoying to me. Like “Oh, so after I told you about all of the HD channels we offer and you ordered based on me telling you that, you wanted an HD receiver to be able to actually see the channels in HD? Weird. I’ve gotta charge for the new receiver, though…” That issue took about a month to get ironed out for some reason

Is Dish Network shitty? Because I’m looking at the price and it’s a lot cheaper than DirecTV for the same channels. I want to ditch DirecTV when my contract is up next month

I hear Dish doesn’t get AMC, and other basic channels like that. I mean, I at least consider AMC to be basic.

Isn’t Dish network having a huge battle with Fox. I think I remember a coworker bitching that Dish Network was not carrying Fox Sports anymore so he couldn’t watch the majority of local baseball and basketball games.
