Exhibit #1 why I dont get fashion. Those are Mom Shorts.
July 25th, 2011 at 8:33 AM
I haven’t clicked on it since I’m not a Domer so the video’s not for me, but I’m going to guess it’s a faces of death clip showing a guy blown off of something by the wind?
July 25th, 2011 at 8:36 AM
(joke about TBL selecting an unattractive picture of an attractive woman)
July 25th, 2011 at 8:38 AM
Yeah that’s just not an attractive look by Biel there, and I’m firmly on team Biel.
July 25th, 2011 at 8:38 AM
Not a chance. Pearl will never work as a head coach in the NCAA again. Burned too many bridges, and will have a show cause slapped on him to boot.
July 25th, 2011 at 8:39 AM
what in flying fuck is she wearing?
July 25th, 2011 at 8:39 AM
Exhibit #1 why I dont get fashion. Those are Mom Shorts.
we can’t see her from the back, which is probably where those shorts look the best. Besides, those are only mom shorts if you’re wearing them at your hips. If you’ve got them pulled up high enough that a bunch of comic book nerds can see your cameltoe, they’re nerd party public appearance shorts.
Of course, once again, terrible, terrible roundup photo of a hot chick.
July 25th, 2011 at 8:39 AM
great career move for amy winehouse.
/too soon?
July 25th, 2011 at 8:40 AM
what in flying fuck is she wearing?
no bra, and I’ll bet that hideous T shirt is also backless to a large degree, so everybody there is aware she’s got on no bra.

July 25th, 2011 at 8:50 AM

July 25th, 2011 at 8:52 AM
Dude, they were running laps warming up for the roundup pic in the Toews post. Chicks are on their Cheetara this morning.
July 25th, 2011 at 8:52 AM
His show cause will be at least 2 years, and he’s persona non grata with just about everyone in the college coaching ranks. When NBDL teams won’t hire you, you know you’ve done fucked up. At best some low-major program might hire him for the publicity…but I doubt even that will happen.
Moral of the story- snitches (eventually) get stitches.
July 25th, 2011 at 8:54 AM
maybe we’ll get a Cutler-calls-off-engagement story today. Then I’ll really be on fire.
July 25th, 2011 at 8:55 AM

Whole lot of RAAWWWWWRRR’ing going on this morning.
That Toews chick is hot. She can definitely get it.

Not all the time. But once in a while, you gotta hop over to Johnny Utah’s or Turtle Bay. I’m more of a village, meatpacking guy… but it’s nice to throw a tshirt and jeans on and go looking for 21 year olds who have just descended on the island.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:01 AM
Because then we would’ve found out the truth.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:01 AM
Both Cutler and Cavalleri got what they were looking for. She stays in the limelight, he tries on a well worn beard.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:01 AM
All of this. If you want to slay it with college chicks, hit up the bars around the colleges…esp. Fordham.
/lots of experience there

July 25th, 2011 at 9:02 AM
I dont know what this is, but it sounds gay
July 25th, 2011 at 9:02 AM
See, I totally believe Jay dumped her. From all the stories I’ve heard she was an unbearable pain in the ass. It was only a matter of time before he had no choice but to dump her.

perhaps it was the FIFTY MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT he signed.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:09 AM
And yet, you traded midseason for noted party animal Kris Versteeg. Just say it. Paul Holmgren doesn’t know what the fuck he’s doing.
Patrick Kane ends up on Deadspin at least twice a year. That doesn’t mean the Hawks are going to trade him off for two prospects that might never pan out.

July 25th, 2011 at 9:11 AM
Cutler can do better than Cavallari and her soon to be Sarah Jessica Parker horseface. He’s the quarterback of the Chicago Bears and he’s 28 years old. Should give him more time to focus on football and now he has more ladies to impress.
Good work, Jay. Way to send her packing if you don’t like her shit.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:13 AM
no shit.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:13 AM
This has to be one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen in a pro sports locker room. Why don’t you just hire 23 chaperones to follow your players around too, Pete.

I don’t know, I think he has overachieved with her. Cutler is by far the derpiest looking QB in the league.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:19 AM
I more enjoyed this tweet from Albert Breer over the weekend directed at Ty.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:19 AM
I did.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:19 AM
I saw something on SI saying they were going to make a run at Santonio. That’s just stupid when John Beck or Sexy Rex are going to be the QB of the team.
/unless the Redskins are planning to bomb the season to get Luck next year.

July 25th, 2011 at 9:26 AM
Bad Apple was really good, SG. I had the Poutine and the Hangover burger. Their beer list was enormous. I can’t put the burger on Kuma’s level yet, but it’s definitely in the same class.
I will definitely go back since there’s no wait at all.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:26 AM
Is Peter Laviolette an AA guy, or a teetotaler?
July 25th, 2011 at 9:26 AM
I think they are going to go after him hard, but I don’t see them making any other frivolous signings, and in the end I doubt they even wind up with Holmes.
All that said, they are decently under the cap for the first time in ages, and have to spend a decent amount just to get to the basement level of the cap.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:27 AM
I think it actually looks awesome. But in no way am I sold that I won’t be disappointed. But they’ve got Bond, Solo, and one of my top 10 actresses in it. They’ve got my $10.50.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:27 AM
I can’t be the only one that thinks that movie looks fucking terrible, can I?
Nope. I saw some rumblings on twitter over the weekend that we shouldn’t “believe any of the good things you hear about character or plot development” for that movie either. That can’t be good.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:27 AM
I would crush you in sports trivia. I have tons of useless crap info that they ask. You’ve got me on music, pop culture and most other categories.

the redskins are under the cap? i thought there was going to be some sort of retroactive cap number for last year’s cap-free spendathon…
July 25th, 2011 at 9:29 AM
In a good place with where Michigan is going right now.
Also, again, I don’t care that it is Ohio State not getting punished, don’t care that kids were taking advantage of opportunities made available to everyone else affiliated with OSU football. Just think the NCAA should be consistent, transparent.

Oh, and maybe a nice soccer post.

Doesn’t sound like it was optional. Sounds like he wanted everyone involved.

July 25th, 2011 at 9:32 AM
Would love a review of Copa. I know Duffy didn’t think much of the tourney, but I actually enjoyed it.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:32 AM
the redskins are under the cap? i thought there was going to be some sort of retroactive cap number for last year’s cap-free spendathon…
No, the big spenders all wanted that uncapped year so that they could de-amortize all of their bonuses. No team should have balloon payments hanging over their heads right now. Just big, cuttable, no cap-hittable salaries.
It was a bookkeeping scrub job for Dallas and Washington, that uncapped year.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:34 AM
Just think the NCAA should be consistent, transparent.
you forgot fair. Transparent and Fair. That’s what your playoff system criteria were going to be. Completely nebulous in description, but definitely transparent and fair when they came to fruition.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:34 AM
if brady hoke goes .500 at michigan during his tenure, i’ll be shocked. and im not saying that as an OSU fan…that defense is just as bad as last year’s and the offense that can score 50 won’t be there.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:34 AM
Are you high? That quote confirms it was optional. He was defending Richard & Carter, saying there were other players who didnt do it either, and it had nothing to do with the trades.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:35 AM
I was under the impression (and I’ll admit to not paying as much attention as I usually do) that Dallas & NY we’re going to struggle to find money for free agents but Washington and Philly we’re going to have plenty? I know for certain the Eagles can pretty much do as they please.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:35 AM
yea…just realized that it was buffalo and cincy who wanted that penalty. no wonder.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:36 AM
That was assuming Mr Haynesworth was going bye bye, of course.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:36 AM
partizan vs partisan…nothing major, just the usage of a nonstandard and antiquated spelling for a word just fits the duffy persona.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:36 AM
Yup, believe that they’re $13 mil under the cap.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:36 AM
I was just curious. It’s an odd pledge for an entire team.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:36 AM
I’m stunned that there was someone that thought they could get grown adults to do this. It’s not the high school hockey team.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:37 AM
I think teams have the ability to assign some of this season’s dollars onto next season’s cap. It’s not much, but it might help Dallas retain a player or two.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:38 AM
I am REALLY concerned about what Chicago is going to do in FA. How are they looking cap wise? They aren’t hamstrung much, are they?
July 25th, 2011 at 9:38 AM
I was under the impression (and I’ll admit to not paying as much attention as I usually do) that Dallas & NY we’re going to struggle to find money for free agents but Washington and Philly we’re going to have plenty? I know for certain the Eagles can pretty much do as they please.
League wide, there’s about to be a high salaried veteran massacre. The free agent free for all that’s coming is about to become a hellscape of out of work, previously overpriced veterans. And Tampa has to spend 55 million in cash. So that’s kinda wacky. Lots of 1 year deals in Tampa.

You know that 36 year old Chris Pronger sure as shit wasn’t putting his number up there. Like you said, adults not kids. If you’ve got guys with substance abuse problems, put them in the league’s program. Otherwise, this looks like it’s a tactic to get the team to do something together, bond them over a common cause. Doesn’t look like it worked.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:40 AM
Looks like they have roughly $105 million committed this season already. I don’t know specifics, teams generally can squeeze an extra million or three by cutting someone they had planned on. That puts them middle of the road. Some flexibility, but not nearly as much as some of the teams.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:40 AM

July 25th, 2011 at 9:41 AM

I read over the weekend that they’re probably keeping Leonard Davis. And that they’re panicking about Doug Free getting signed by Philly, or anywhere.

July 25th, 2011 at 9:41 AM

July 25th, 2011 at 9:41 AM
They’re notorious under-the-cap spenders. (FUCK YOU, MCCASKEYS!) They better not fucking sign Braylon fucking Edwards.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:41 AM
They have no interest in Holmes or Edwards. I know where you’re going with this. Jerry Angelo won’t sign guys with character questions or criminal records.
I’d take Holmes, not Edwards. The only names floated at WR are Rice and a trade for Steve Smith since all the Panthers want is apparently a 3rd round pick.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:42 AM
shaker heights, w00t!
July 25th, 2011 at 9:43 AM
Well, it looks like teams need to spend to at least 90% (?) of the cap. So that will be a thing of the past.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:43 AM
jerry angelo prefers such upstanding, high character guys like brian urlacher and olin kruetz? two notorious asshats?
July 25th, 2011 at 9:43 AM
There were curds on the poutine. I enjoyed them in that form. It’s like a 10 minute walk from my apartment. I’ll be going back.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:43 AM
Nate Clements agrees
so he’s not going to make it to that 37 million dollar 7th year on that 100 million dollar contract? I really thought he was going to get that money.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:44 AM
I would have said a swarm, or maybe a flock, but herd works too.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:44 AM
Still better than a 26 year old firefighter being drafted 23 overall.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:44 AM
If the Bears get Steve Smith from Carolina he’s almost never going to get the ball. Every defense in the league will double cover the guy. I’d pick up Johnny Knox in fantasy if this happens.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:44 AM
Good. That makes me sleep easier. I’m pretty resigned that at this point, the best move going forward is to keep Edwards, Holmes and their baggage. Just as long as the prices are right.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:44 AM
I’m not sure that unfunny douche should be writing about someone who does drugs, considering his sunken cheeks and anorexic build were probably brought on by years of meth and coke use.

He didn’t draft either of them and isn’t in a position to let the face of his franchise and a Pro Bowl center walk away during his tenure as GM. Look at the guys he’s drafted and signed.
They asked him about Plax a few weeks ago and his response was, “absolutely not.”
July 25th, 2011 at 9:45 AM
Well, it looks like teams need to spend to at least 90% (?) of the cap. So that will be a thing of the past.
I read 99%, several places. and 95% going forward for several years, with 90% of the cap being the salary floor in 5 years and going forward.
I’m not saying they were reputable places, but I read that several places. Mostly snuff film sites.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:45 AM
Still rarely stops him from torching said double coverage. I’d take Smith in a heart beat.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:46 AM
yes I’m aware. I just don’t know why you’d want to ruin those delicious curds with the crappy fries and gravy.

Still better than a 26 year old firefighter being drafted 23 overall.

July 25th, 2011 at 9:47 AM
the best way to keep steve smith from getting the ball is have delhomme, matt moore and clausen be his QB.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:47 AM
Ha. SG, how would Chicago be any different than Carolina?
July 25th, 2011 at 9:47 AM
He might have had one or two good years out of that whole deal. Doesn’t help that we haven’t had a pass rusher since Charles Haley. Some day, we’ll be good again.
Someday.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:48 AM
That was just the point. He was writing from the perspective of being a hopeless addict, and how he could relate. I do agree that Brand is an unfunny douche…but he’s an unfunny douche who managed to kick a deadly smack habit and come out of it pretty well.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:48 AM
Yeah. They were OK. The ones that came with the burger were good. I had them put the truffle oil on them. I really wanted to try the Red Dragon burger. Or the one with the braised ox tail.
The whole menu looked fire. And again, the beer list was like the size of the document the NFLPA just signed. I want to try more.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:48 AM
Looks like I’m going to have to create a #fireandyreid movement…
July 25th, 2011 at 9:50 AM
the best way to keep steve smith from getting the ball is have delhomme, matt moore and clausen be his QB.
steve smith cleaned out his locker before exit interviews last year. So there’s really no urgency to trade him, especially since he counts against the $$$ carolina has to spend anyway, and he’s not coming to camp. They can keep the salary and try to trade him without worrying about cutting him, for a while. So that will be interesting. More interesting than summer league dunks, I mean.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:51 AM
deadly smacks
my vote for worst breakfast cereal
July 25th, 2011 at 9:51 AM
So the Shanahans have decided John Beck is the answer at QB and they (along with Snyder) are making Santonio Holmes their top priority in free agency?
Were the Shanahans always retarded, or is this a “proximity to Snyder” thing?
July 25th, 2011 at 9:52 AM
And what the F does Bruce Allen do?
July 25th, 2011 at 9:53 AM
So you don’t think he’ll get moved prior to week one? I’m just asking so I know what to expect with the Bears.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:53 AM
If anyone has a chance to see Bon Iver in concert, I highly recommend going. Saw them at the Chicago Theater last night, fantastic show. Much more powerful in person than on the album.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:53 AM
I think they’re hoping to bomb the season and try for Andrew Luck.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:54 AM
Personnel decisions were never Mike’s strong suit. He’s a great coach, and terrible GM.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:55 AM
I am so not a truffle oil fan. I think truffle tastes and smells like what I imagine poop mixed with dirt would taste like. Chocolate truffles, on the other hand, are delicious.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:56 AM
TBL, can I put in a post request? Or even other commenters can help me here. I need a list of NFL Twitter follows. When the lockout started, I unfollowed everyone associated with the NFL expect Goodell and Rich Eisen. I know I need to follow Schefter again but suggestions are appreciated.
July 25th, 2011 at 9:59 AM
So you don’t think he’ll get moved prior to week one? I’m just asking so I know what to expect with the Bears.
no clue. I just talk out of my ass all the time.

Dirt, are you watching Entourage’s final season?
July 25th, 2011 at 10:02 AM
Dirt, are you watching Entourage’s final season?
yeah, but not yet. I have very high hopes.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:03 AM
SC – email jason lisk about that. not a bad idea.
i actually unfollowed Eisen & Schefter and am doing fine.
I’d give a rec to @EvanSilva. Kid does great work. misses nothing.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:03 AM
Someone is going to throw a huge pile of money at Holmes, and considering the Jets are already over the cap I dont see any way they can match. Even Braylon will get some decent offers.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:03 AM
I don’t put 100% stock in this story, but I think there are some elements of it that are true.
Just from on-ice results, it was time for Jeff Carter to be traded. He was the 4th best center on the Flyers, IMO (behind Briere, Giroux, and Richards). If Carter had taken to playing on the wing at all (several attempts were made to move him to wing), he’d probably still be a Flyer.
I can’t explain the Richards trade, hockey-wise. I’m a Richards fan and I think he brings a lot to the table.
He and Carter are supposedly BFFs from what I understand and maybe the team was worried about Richards moping about since Carter was traded. Also, there had been questions in the past about Richards’ off ice training in the off season. Or specifically, the lack of it.
The way I saw it, they were two young guys doing what young guys do. I don’t think it was the going out that got them traded so much as maybe not being as adaptable in their careers as the team might have liked them to be, considering the magnitude of their contracts.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:04 AM
This would be a pretty cool post.

remember to console him about his recent neutering. And remind him he’s not allowed on the couch.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:05 AM
@SC – If you are interested in breaking NFL news, you really don’t need to follow a lot of people. Pick whoever annoys you the least and it all eventually gets retweeted/reproduced. You only need to follow all of them if you care about getting news 2 minutes before someone else.

July 25th, 2011 at 10:07 AM
Well even if that happens, the Jets still get pretty good picks in return. And would still have some money to fuck around with. But it’s imperative that one of Braylon or Holmes must be retained.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:08 AM
Same as before, not entertaining football and lots of punts
July 25th, 2011 at 10:08 AM
And by “NFL News” I assume you know I mean “65% rumor with a legit source, 30% pure speculation, and 5% news”.

There’s not even a question who you’d want back more out of those two, is there?
July 25th, 2011 at 10:09 AM
this. there is nothing worse than seeing 50,000 people in your timeline RT something that Mort tweeted.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:09 AM
I’m not an Entourage hater, but last night was pretty meh. I feel like they are going to have to cram a lot in these last 8 episodes. You know it will be a happy ending though.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:09 AM
Ha. Well, I certainly wasn’t going to recommend anyone actually follow Jay Glazer.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:11 AM
I don’t know about Laviolette, but I know that Paul Holmgren (the GM of the Flyers) is a recovered (recovering?) alcoholic.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:11 AM
/Movie’s back on.
//Way to go, baby bro!
July 25th, 2011 at 10:11 AM
It’s more beneficial for MMA fans to follow Jay Glazer than football fans.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:11 AM
Of course not. But one is still going to command a higher fee than the other. That’s when things get sort of tricky.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:11 AM
Such a horrible…horrible show.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:12 AM
considering the Jets are already over the cap
you should quit considering this until the veteran cuts happen
Well even if that happens, the Jets still get pretty good picks in return.
slightly irrelevant, no? Isn’t 4th round the best possible option for a compensatory pick? I guess 3rd, but that’s for something Julius Pepper-y.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:12 AM
That is correct.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:12 AM
Yep. I actually find the Ari/Mrs. Ari storyline the most compelling. I think it got about 3 minutes of screen time last night.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:13 AM
Mort’s constant use of the Twitlonger makes for an annoying follow, life’s too short for all that extra clicking…140 characters isn’t the impossible dream there guy
July 25th, 2011 at 10:14 AM
Actually, forgot. It doesn’t even matter with the new CBA. I don’t think the Jets get anything back.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:14 AM
I’ve come this far…..gotta finish it.
Seems like most people hate on it for the exact reason they liked it to start. I’ve never really expected a lot of character development and interesting plot lines out of my sitcoms. When they stop making me laugh, that’s when I have an issue.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:15 AM
Most Glazer tweets are, “Had a SICK hip/hand combo training session with (insert declining NFL player desperate to try anything to revive his career here) today! He’s a beast! A beast!”
July 25th, 2011 at 10:15 AM
Thanks sanders. Just picked up all NFC North’s beat writers and a couple national guys.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:15 AM
There scene together was really, really good.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:15 AM
Mort’s constant use of the Twitlonger makes for an annoying follow, life’s too short for all that extra clicking…140 characters isn’t the impossible dream there guy
I don’t understand this either… if it’s absolutely necessary to use more than 140 characters, just use more than one tweet
July 25th, 2011 at 10:16 AM
Weeds and Entourage are in the same boat right now. They have been on so long that they think they should have a message to tell people but really they were just fun shows to begin with that are no longer funny.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:17 AM
that story about the woman who was dead in her car in the garage for over a year and a half was crazy. TBL brings the feel good to the roundup!
July 25th, 2011 at 10:17 AM
I refuse to follow Mort. Schefter is a necessary evil though. Big Papa Smug seems to be the king of breaking NFL news.
PFT will not be making it back to the follows list. I’ve had about enough of that guy. Seeing him on NBC Sunday night is good enough for me.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:19 AM
I’m not sure that Entourage was ever “funny.” It was interesting the first couple of season because, like it or not, we all like to look down the rabbit hole that is Hollywood behind the scenes-y stuff. All the humor came from Jeremy Piven’s rat-a-tat-tat verbal dexterity. If you read those lines at normal speed they’re not nearly as funny.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:19 AM
I get that. But starting today PFT is going to be indispensable until the free agency rush is over with.
NFL free agency and the MLB trade deadline at the same time.
/head explodes
July 25th, 2011 at 10:20 AM
I grew weary of Florio very quickly. His writing is a lot of bullshit
July 25th, 2011 at 10:21 AM
Ari is literally the only interesting thing about that show. I know it’s been that way for a long time but it’s even more apparent now. I used to ocassionally care about the other guys from time to time but not this season. I want to punch E in the fucking face.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:21 AM
Wait who?
/only follows Peter King & Banks
July 25th, 2011 at 10:22 AM
The only thing that is holding weeds together the past few years, is Nancy doing a nude scene every once in a while. Her sex scene with Zach Morris last year was quite raunchy.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:22 AM
I’m not sure that Entourage was ever “funny.”
it was funny in the first season when they had Jessica Alba playing the character of an A list actress. And I remember the scene in the poolhouse where the girls all wanted to have sex with Vince, and Turtle having to explain to the one that he got stuck with that she was the one that he got stuck with.
After that, no, not really.
July 25th, 2011 at 10:23 AM
I get that. But starting today PFT is going to be indispensable until the free agency rush is over with.
I wonder if the NBC site that hosts his site will crash. I’m sure NFL cuts will crash the twitterer more than once.

July 25th, 2011 at 10:26 AM
