One Year Anniversary of The Decision: Some Clevelanders Remain Bitter
As you may have heard if you went on the internet today (Hey, you’re on the internet right now!), it is the one-year anniversary of The Decision. That’s right. A year ago LeBron James went on ESPN and ripped the collective heart out of the city of Cleveland and took his talents to South Beach. ESPN has dedicated an entire day to The Decision as if Decision were what the D in D-Day stood for. (Maybe in Cleveland…)
Anyway, it’s a year later a reader from Ohio saw this vehicle outside his office today. No word on whether or not the vehicle in question belongs to Dan Gilbert. Or maybe Scott Raab wants more people to look at his car.
[Thanks Jon]

Mrs. Wade’s failures this season provided me with great joy, however, I don’t blame anyone for wanting to leave Cleveland.
/confused by life’s tapestry

Some? Rather large understatement. At least we don’t have another non-Ohio guy trying to tell us that Akron isn’t the Cleveland area, so there’s that.

Lebron grew up in Ohio. He played pro ball in Ohio. He didnt go to Duke or UNC for a year to get away and experience new things. He got drafted by the Cavs and stayed in Ohio. He gave Cleveland 7 years of his life and brought the team a life (and the city $$$). Then he decides, after fulfilling his contract, to experience a new city…a new life, rather than wasting away in Ohio. And his “fans” turn against him. He did nothing wrong. It is the pathetic Cleveland fans who need to look in a mirror and ask why they treat him the way they do. If they had a choice, they wouldn’t live there either.

His decision was his business. The Decision was an one of thebiggest asshole moves ever.
For all the shit that Gilbert took, he opened his checkbook to sign anyone that would have helped win a title. He also allowed LBJ to rule on virtually everything that dealt with the team. And, for all that, he shit on Gilbert and the city and the state in one 55 minute disaster.

have you ever traveled outside of drugland, florida? I’ve been to Miami. Other than the beaches, it’s a shit place.

Again, it was never the decision it was the delievery of the message. He knew he wasn’t going to sign here. He constructed a summer long media blow job. He fucked over his current team (by announcing his decision at the end of free agency) and took a giant shit on a fanbase that did nothing but support him since he was a fucking high schooler

Oh and go fuck yourself

even CRM is opening the valve to the sewage truck on Ohio sports fans. Its way over done.

I’ve never been to Cleveland or Ohio, but you are a fuck. Fuck you. Fuck fuck fuck.
/I only had five more online “fucks” this week. I needed to burn them.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I’ve been to Cleveland and I really don’t understand comments like this. It wasn’t a bad place and I liked it enough to go back a couple of times.

BUT IT WAS FOR CHARITY!!!!
July 8th, 2011 at 9:53 PM
The Cleve’ knows I’m just messing with them.
July 8th, 2011 at 9:53 PM
I don’t understand where this bullshit narrative started. He announced the decision on the first day free agents were allowed to sign, one week into the free agency period. It’s not like he waited until a week before the season started.

Sounds like a STD.

Seriously…
July 8th, 2011 at 10:23 PM
He was the last major free agent (maybe last free agent period?) to announce where he was going. He fucked the Cavs over royally.
July 8th, 2011 at 10:24 PM
Buccos tie it up in the 8th off Marmol!
July 8th, 2011 at 10:25 PM
That moron made it seem like he was CONSIDERING Cleveland when he really wasn’t. The option for the Heat to sign all 3 had been on his mind for a long time. Switching to #6 5 months before free agency wasn’t to honor Jordan, it was because #23 is retired by the Miami Heat (the only other arena other than Chicago to do so in the NBA).
Everything was premeditated. Lebron even said it himself that he knew he couldn’t win against the Celtics if he stayed with the Cavs, and he needed more help. He knew since the series ended (and based on the number change, probably before that) he wasn’t coming back to Cleveland. So for him to make a grand fucking spectacle and shit on a franchise that supported him with an hour long blowjob of his own talents was uncalled for.

Damn, big papi got plunked and then got into a fight! Fuck you orioles. Perhaps your pitchers shouldnt suck so bad.
July 8th, 2011 at 10:30 PM
Everyone needs to go watch the video in the next post.
July 8th, 2011 at 10:32 PM
So in the 9th inning of a 10-3 game the Orioles decide to start shit? Or, is it a drastic overreaction by the Red Sox to a pitch that got away.
/Haven’t seen the highlight yet
//Red Sox were a bunch of crybabies when they were in PGH 2 weeks ago
July 8th, 2011 at 10:32 PM
Oh ok.. He didnt get plunked. Kevin gregg basically told oetiz to just run down the line on a popup. Ortiz charged the mound. Benches cleared
July 8th, 2011 at 10:33 PM
Kevin gregg blows anyways. He has no room to talk shit. DIAF
July 8th, 2011 at 10:36 PM
More importantly, beckett left early with a mild hyperextension of knee. And gregg tried to hit papi on three consecutive pitches. Asshole

Man, some baltimore fans are ignorant and just plain stupid. twitter is a great measuring stick for someone’s intelligence. I feel sorry for orioles fans here that actually have brains

Traderjack, Miami an awesome town. I guess that over weight, unemployed, ex-cons like yourself may not have a great time here, but alot of people do. Cleveland is a shit hole.
